"Planes are from the 80's" from the reviews. I hate when people who don't know anything about aviation say ignorant stuff like this. Neither Air Canada, WestJet or Porter have plane's built in the 80's in their fleet. The airlines in the US have plenty of those. And even if they did, as long as its maintained well, who cares? Those people probably see the Q400 (a plane all three major Canadian airliners fly) and think that it uses the same type engines as a "WWII" plane. Never mind the fact its a propeller driven by a modern jet engine.
Yeah so many airlines have the 787 and lock the windows which on some of the flights my home airline Qantas operates is a good thing (for sleep on their like 17 hour flights) and other times is annoying. Though because the window is dimmed you can get some pretty cool photos through it.
Windows are locked on the ground by WestJet Cabin Manager. It helps with keeping the cabin temperature comfortable during boarding. They are unlocked after pushback.
Don't know why you reviewed a Plaza Premium lounge when flying Air Canada. They have their own Maple Leaf lounges which are fairly easy to gain access to (can be done through a CIBC or TD credit card).
Hello from Calgary! Dunno how long you were here but I hope it went well nonetheless :) I'm just happy to see Westjet (and YYC) get some representation, them being based here it's almost got a sense of local pride attached to it-
I’m sorry you had a bad experience on WestJet because of a little kid, overpriced wifi and half decent food. fly them a lot and never have had a bad experience. I agree that Air Canada can be a lot better but I’d say WestJet and Air Canada are the same. When I was going home from Toronto, my flight was only delayed 1 hour on Air Canada. I was flying in a A321 with an old entertainment system. The A321 entertainment system was old and so laggy. But who won in the video? WestJet or Air Canada?

@@hasanlodhi3142 Okay! When I flew Air Canada home from Toronto I was on an A321-200. The entertainment was super laggy and not responsive. There were almost no options to choose to entertain myself.
The time that shows on ur Home Screen for west jet or air Canada isn’t the time when the plane leaves it’s when boarding starts and since it’s a long flight of course you would leave 1hr after the time displayed on ur screen so it’s technically not late
Air Canada's soft product is much better than Westjet. Better rewards system, better customer service, basic economy includes a carryon bag, you dont have to wait 4 hours to speak to an agent over the phone. Westjet used to be good until they got greedy and cut their services.

The flight back to DC was terrible it was delayed 14 hours and it was a completely full flight with no extra seats so I had to have someone sit next to me. At least I had isle seat.
