Big facts. I haven't watched ESPN in over a year since they went all woke. I come to pat and the boys for all my news. They cover everything on this show, it's hilarious, and you get players inside views. The chemistry is also off the charts for these guys.

It’s seems to me like the league doesn’t care about the state of officiating. We’ve been complaining for years and the decision they make is to keep more of the same refs around? Maybe they aren’t interested in fixing the officiating.
Not like they care about the refs. They pay some random old guys 20,000 a year with the benefit of no in league criticism
@@kja6336 that’s partially to my point. They should care about them. They’re a huge part of the game and too many fans are left complaining about horrible calls year in and year out. If that means they need to be trained more or treated better then do what it takes and hire new ones to replace ones that don’t care to try.

I used to call fans like yourself crazy, but the older I get , the more corruption I see ( I live in Chicago so there’s plenty), I start to think I’m childish for not believing that the league officials could have a price as well. THAT is who the NFL put in charge, good lord if making bad calls is what it takes to move ahead in NFL officiating, sign me up. I would love to work somewhere that I can be as terrible as possible and still get promoted later on.

I've been told that the ex-players aren't any more proficient with the technology. In terms of on-the-field officiating, the amount of running around the field is more than quite a few ex-players can handle in their 50s, 60's, even 40's, due to the chronic, and/or degenerative, knee, hip, ankle, spine, foot, conditions many are suffering. I've also been told that the competitive, and confrontational, nature of playing stays with players, as does personal biases, rivalries, even grudges. As for giving a job to a guy who has serious debts and is bankrupt or has no money to pay those debts, that is precisely the kind of person that the league does not, under any circumstance, want as a game official, as they could be potentially compromised, there is too high a risk. Just as they do not allow game officials to be involved in gambling of any significance. The league prefers people who've come up the ranks as officials and not as players. I'm not sure how I feel on this, as I can see arguments from either side as legitimate.

NFL refs lack integrity for themselves and the game at this point. Not sure if it's the refs fault or the upper suits of the league. I agree with the notion of hiring former players for refs. I wanna see Ed Reed ref a game and see how it would be played.

Small point I disagree with. There ARE some officials in the NFL we fans, and I hope players do like. Hochuli and Steratore were two officials I remember the fans enjoyed so I believe it is possible to simply get this right.

They should just show all angles of play and then put up a like a 2 minute poll that can be answered through Twitter or through the NFL app and that the fans choose what they believe the call should be. We can only ever blame ourselves at that point. Speed up the game and whatever the majority believes the call should be is what it is. Maybe even put a quick definition of what to look for on the screen for more educated decisions.
And then make it if the poll is within like 10-15% of 50% then play call "stands". That way if there are possibilities of complicated calls or fans are not unanimously confident it defaults to the officials original professional real-time call.

I hate Walt Anderson because of the call before half of Bills Seahawks 2016 when Dan Carpenter was going to kick, Richard Sherman jumped offsides, which was called, but Carpenter blasts Sherman, and because Carpenter had to get looked at cause he kicked a man, he had to come off for a play. Then the officials didn’t reset the game clock so the offsides is negated by a fake delay of game. Finally, Carpenter misses what I think was a 54 yarder
