For two days and nights, thousands of festival-goers gathered in the heart of Kilifi's Baobab Forest above the source of the Takaungu Creek.
This is a reflection of the magic of like-minded souls created in a world where music, alternative culture and nature collide - Beneath The Baobabs Festival 2023/2024.

why did you get rid of the burn ? that was the highlight, like a ritual it was so good
It was a very tough decision... But cutting down trees, burning down a whole ton of wood, with big carbon emissions and a resulting possible fire hazard for neighbouring villages many of which have thatched roofs... Whilst fire was very unlikely, it just didn't add up anymore... I also loved the burns so very much...
But safety always always comes first and we aim to always improve sustainability at every step of the journey.
Tough decision. But quite confidently this was the right one (but it's a little sad for sure)...
@@romainmari3037 these are valid concerns for sure. but sure we can have some alternative ways to create a visually captivating experience without the environmental impact of a large burn. like we could have controlled fire performances or light drone shows and maybe eco-friendly fireworks on 31st, then we could help engage in carbon offesting activities when we come down there this year just a thought
