    As a Pogi fan I kind of hope it is over, but I am far from comfortable. 😊On one hand Jonas has to believe, Pogi was saying the same last year when he was 7 minutes behind. On the other hand it really is not over. There are crashes and there is Pogi's history of having a bad day in the third week when he could lose several minutes. @Pawsk Месяц назад

      Maybe its true, i dont see why he would lie on the other hand, its not very believable that Pogacar went from slightly worse than Vingegaard on the long steep climbs to being so much stronger that Vingegaard looks amateurish.

    • @Pawsk
      @Pawsk Месяц назад

      @@remcolangemaire Its not a complicated comment to be honest.
      You say we know it wasnt optimal for Jonas. Yet Jonas claims to have been performing better numbers than ever before on this stage.
      Which shows that his preparation while impressively fast didnt cost anything in terms of his form at this point in the tour.
      Hence, you either have to say 1. Jonas is lying, and the crash did affect his numbers or 2. Jonas is telling the truth and Pogacar is currently miles ahead of Vingegaard.
      There is really no other option is there?

    • @Pawsk
      @Pawsk Месяц назад

      @@remcolangemaire What i then added, is that in my opinion its very unlikely that Pogacar went from slightly worse than Jonas in these type of climbs to ridiculously stronger than the strongest version of him ever. Supposedly posted on cycling news march 8 2024:
      “Matxin is the best scout in the world and has top contacts in the world, as a tactician he is 0 and persistently interferes in the work of DS, the only DS expert in that team at an acceptable level is Fabio Baldato, 2+2 is always 4, if Pogacar is so far was trained by a quasi-trainer who only prescribed endurance rides of 5W/kg and FTP 15 min intervals 2 times a week after zone 2 and the rest of his training was based on prescribing training from training peaks, imagine what can happen when a top-level coach takes over Sola, if one Yates progressed from 32 years old after 1 year of working with him, how much Pogi will progress 0, UAE has the best TT setup in the world, Pogacar finally has a coach who trains him with a Core device for heat training and for the first time you could see Pogacar in Strade Bianche to wear Core attached to a heart rate strap, he finally has real training and intervals for hills for the first time in his career and he will have properly conducted altitude training after the Giro, I can't tell you how I know all that, but believe me I have insight firsthand in all that, how else would I show you Pogacar's part from training on 24.2.2024 and that his 349w is 5.33w/kg as a base training and FTP 431w, that he will be 20% better is frankly a little too hasty, but if could predict for the Giro Pogacar will be at 65 kg, at both TTs he will win, at 15 min he will have 7.3 w/kg, at 20 min 7 w/kg, at 30 min hill 6.7 and at 40+ min hill he will have 6.5 w/ kg and on the Tour kg less and the strength is the same, so if Vingegard gets that from me, he has”

      Because Jonas was cooked after the whole day in the stage 15. Visma plays now offensively and they were in the lead in the stage 15...and they don't have enough good domsetique. Sepp is not here, Primož as well, Wout van Aert is also recovering. And all this results in more energy loss for Jonas, which in the end plays a big role in a climb like in the stage 15. Last couple of years Visma had a brilliant team where they managed to crack Tadej. This year is vice-versa + Tadej is much more better prepared.
      All respect to Jonas - je rides exceptionally as well, but I really hope Pogačar wins this Tour.

Unfortunately for some riders the job of dealing with interviews also comes with the job. But as I said he IS getting better at it. And even more when it comes to the nuances in subject matters. @Sunnivah13 Месяц назад +5

      Why? After they healed, you are good to go. It was more about the kind of the crash and the kind of injuries he suffered. Broken collarbone for example is very common in cycling and puts you out of training, but not in the ICU. Broken ribs, punctured lung and pneumothorax puts you not only in bed but potentially in a coffin. This is why journalists are always emphasizing on the severity of the injuries, not because you cannot heal from them if you are lucky and get well after 6-8 weeks and then start training again, but because they were life threatening. This kind of injuries can kill you under some circumstances. This was the huge shock, not that he had to pause for weeks with training. But if you are lucky and get the right treatment right away the recovery span is not so much longer than to a lot of other common injuries in cycling.
      Look at Evenepoel: after falling from the bridge he broke his pelvis and was out of training for months. You can die by breaking you pelvis since they are big arteries going through your pelvis. But if it is "only" broken bone you will survive but have a long time of recovery ahead. Punctured lung and pneumothorax can kill you right away under certain circumstances, even a small hole in your lung will cause your lung to collapse. But if you get the right treatment you will survive and this will heal rather quickly if it's a small hole so.. severe injury (meaning life threatening) doesn't equal long recovery time. Think of this

      @@Sunnivah13You are quite right. And it took Evenepoel a LONG time to get back to his best after that horrible crash! People really forget the mental aspect as well. ❤ The fact that Jonas is physically well now and in top shape doesn't mean, that he didn't suffer a major setback.

      @@mikedittsche Not really no.
      There is evidence that masks prevent the spread of disease, and there is proof of masks preventing droplet carried diseases in large groups.
      As for evidence of masks protecting the person carrying them against diseases in circumstances where the people around them arent carrying them, it’s basically non existent.
      I wont hurt anything, but the evidence for its effect simply isnt there.
