Great Video- I never would have thought about the cam chain tensioner guide as a source of parasitic drag loss- THANKS! looking forward to more Pro Tips
Thanks James. Love your meticulous approach to your tasks. I’d absolutely love a workshop tour, to check out the entire set-up & to see any projects on the boil.
Yes I have, but we still think it's a good idea to put the tensioner on before you have a failure. You can view it here: jamescomptoncustoms.com/product/alternator-chain-tensioner/
Hi James, When doing the install do you have to remove the valve cover, or can you simply remove rotor cover? I am about to do mine on my R1 with a GRAVES Manual CCT. The instructions suggest to remove the timing cover find TDC and install the TCC listen to engine noise to check everything is okay and adjust as necessary? Many thanks for your input.
Yes you can do it that way. The tricky part is that you have to know what sound you’re looking for and how much tension to apply to the plunger. We prefer to set them with the engine running, but you need to make sure the tensioner isn’t too tight or too slack before you start the process or you could have big problems.
The best video on manual cam chain tensioner installation bar none.!!
Top class in every respect.!
