Tbh, I hate having to run nightmare dungeons for paragon glyphs. I'd rather do these fast-paced helltide like events over running dungeons anymore. I hate being forced to do stupid side objectives just to reach a damn boss room. It's annoying, which makes me feel bored faster with the game. Also, the loot does not matter after a certain point, and constantly dismantling or selling stuff because I didn't find an immediate upgrade to my loot gets boring very fast. Loot, reborn, ironically enough, got pretty boring for me rather fast. I want to see more changes to be honest. I'll wait until season 6.

I throw 10 bronze coins before you. You pick them up, but you're annoyed cuz its only 10 coins, and not cuz its bronze coins. Sooo... to make you happier i throw 100 bronze coins. Without any big effort i just throw more shit to give u an illusion that now ur time is not wasted, and u're using it wisely. Same sht. They dont bring quality, they bring amount. And u are jumping of joy cuz now u have more bubbles to pop. More mobs with less loot... if u have any sort of brain, it is just ridiculously stupid concept. Instead of having more mobs with value. I actually quite like the Infernal Hordes. It’s nothing crazy, but it’s fun to play a mini horde mode that gives crazy exp while leveling. I just wish there was a better way to level glyphs that didn’t force me to not engage with the seasonal stuff
i feel like they are super nice to supplement leveling and gearing. its always more efficient to do NMD's at higher tiers, so doing infernals first then doing super high level NMD's cut down on the time spent grinding em
On god, glyphs need to be reworked so they just level as you gain xp. I normally hold off as long as I can just so I can do 80-100s and lvl them quicker.
D4 needs more variation in end game. Eg in PoE you run maps but the layout, look and feel is different. In d4 we do helltides/pit that is exactlty the same each run

The game keeps improving and the world is interesting and beautiful. In terms of ARPGs its definitely top tier. PoE is the hardcore option and D4 is the best softcore option. LE is boring as fuck and grim dawn has needed a sequel for over a decade lol. These are all my opinion but the evidence supports it.

Im having a great time with season 5. The unique changes are very good they feel quite powerful and build enabling. Tempering had some small improvements but still needs work The infernal hordes are really fun. And super high xp I did my first one at level 65 and when i ended it i had 26 paragon points to spend lol. If you dont like running nightmare dungeons just do 1 or 2 helltides in wt4. Youll get enough infernal hordes compasses to get you to level 90 or so. Then you should have enough gear and strength to handle nmd100 which gives you tons of glyph xp dramatically reducing how many you have to do
Depending on your rig try something like lossless scaling on steam. My desktop can run everything fine, but I have a slightly outdated 3060ti lenovo legion laptop that hasn't got great performance. On low settings I was getting maybe 30/40 frames. Boosted to about 105/120 just by using this app and runs miles better
you ccan try with geforce now or any cloud gaming service compatible with D4 (with geforce now you can have a free option that let's you do 1 hours sessions with 5-10min pause between them)
I noticed leveling is significantly faster. Playing as a flame thrower Sorc has made it easier as well. I also started a summoner Necromancer, but the start was kind of slow until I got corpse explosion. It doesn't feel as OP as it did in the previous season; but it does OK. As for the season story, it's tied into the actual story, so that is a good thing; and as usual you have to grind out monsters drops for those caches. The devs didn't take away the item and gear system from the previous season, so that is good. The Infernal Horde will keep you at the edge of your seat. We'll see how it goes when it comes time to farm uber gear from the bosses. I quit playing the previous season because target farming didn't work for me. I never got the Tempest Roar drop, ever lol.
Doing the bosses (Non uber) gets you ALOT of uniques and they are super ez to spam. Getting stuff to quickly is not fun but i get that some people dont actually want to grind the game. If you dont wanna put in the time dont play a build with Uniques at all.
Hadn`t played since season 2, decided to give this season a chance and am actually enjoying it. Might actually buy the expansion now, gotta play a bit more before I decide, but am starting to lean in that direction now.
I started playing POE for the first time 2 weeks ago. I am still learning so much, loving it so much. I don't think I'll be playing Diablo anytime soon.

I'm loving the new mode myself. I mostly play SSF, and having a reliable gold farm alongside a guaranteed GA drop is massive. I hope this continues into Eternal.

I did not uninstall it but I played a bit and it was still a grind and a bit boring. I will see how the expansion will land and take it from there to perhaps give it another shot.
I came back after leaving when season 3 ended. Now I'm watching all the videos for all seasons to get a better understanding of how the game has evolved over the past year👍🏼👍🏼. Already at level 11 after 30 minutes or so. Gotta learn about tempering. It is easier grinding out levels now for Sure. We will see how this season goes. I'm interested in seeing the communities reaction to this season after a few days or weeks of playing.
@oshxdxw this is why I will never play D4, they made leveling a joke. It took a lot longer in D2, it actually felt gratifying to level. People have no attention span now and Blizzard treat everyone like they are children or brain rotted tick tock users who can't pay attention or see anything through. This combined with the faster leveling in general, had me leveling a new build to 100. It's so easy to bring a build online early, and that makes the leveling fun.
100%, the build variety in D4 SUCKS! All I ever see are the same builds because options are slim to none. In POE one skill gem can be manipulated into a number of ways to use the skill and there's 275 skill gems and 177 support gems. POE has so much build variety that even if you follow a build, you can still make changes to it to make it your own.
Perfect take. I love the changes to the Uniques. It makes getting them or even farming them way more worth it and its cool how depending on what drops for you, you may actually decide to switch up builds and it still be super viable.

God I hate IH design now that I see it. I'm okay with the choices being mob buffs+aether gains. Your idea is cool, it's roguelite and fun, but current implementation is fine. The problem is collecting rewards at the end. Last Epoch did something amazing with Lightless Arbor where you have a vault room and you spend currency on a bunch of choices that effect what's in the chests. Something like: When you click on the loot room, a dialog pops up showing you currently have 1 chest with dinky rewards. In addition, it shows a bunch of options each costing aether. One that's always there and repeatable is "add another chest for 40 aether". Other option ideas are: "Add 1 empowered legendary to all chests for 100", "Add substantial crafting mats to all chests for 80", "Add sockets to all legendaries for 60", "Spend all remaining aether to add gold to all chests", etc. You choose what you want, then the room opens, and the chests you've designed are there.
My fave game to revisit? Ashen. I can't explain it, when i want to mess around and listen to music and only have an hour, I think Ashen is a great game. It's got a great art aesthetic, it's sort of hypnotizing.
They said it was gonna be roguelike but its not. The fun of roguelikes is how different each run can be due to the variance in your OWN upgrades. There is none of that here.
I know Diablo 4 has it's vocal detractors, but I for one really enjoy this game. I love the artwork, context, music, the sad and macabre feel, and much more. Yes, it is a work in progress, but isn't every game? I am excited about the future of its development.
I don’t get the meeting of this. Why would i need those items if I’m 100 lvl. What can i do next after this? For me I finished the game, i played 2 seasons but didn’t really get what to do there…and never really felt the need to upgrade my weapons a lot.
If D4 had added that instead of PoE, people would complain that city building doesn't belong in an arpg, just like they did with the Season 3 traps. I play multiple arpgs and I can't take people seriously when they try to complain about D4 anymore.

I think the season would’ve been better if we had a demo class to go with it. I think it’d be fun to have trial classes we can try out per season, just giving us more options to play different classes and the test some classes out for later
I think the last thing I would like to have is season quest content being able to level glyphs. Remove nightmare dungeons altogether, and just wrap that system into the Pit.
Infernal hordes are insane for leveling. Two buddies and I leveled up from 15 to 48 in just one infernal horde event. The original 15 levels was doing the capstone dungeon.
The hordes are fun, the uniques are interesting and the new aspects are cool it’s worth playing for atleast a few days. I haven’t played since season 1 and I’m enjoying it so far. D4 good for casual play.
@enightc I played season 4 and think season 5 is great. Like they redid every unique and added a bunch of aspects. PoE “might” give you a new gem or support gem but they’ll cover up their lack of gameplay content with other modes that tbh are kinda lackluster. At least with D4 getting new/updated uniques/aspects EVERY SEASON can implement new builds

If you already have the game you shouldn't wait to see this video to play it or not. Just open the game, play 4hs and make your own decision. You are going to play some other thing anyways. PLAY GAMES, stap looking for some one that tolds you what to do. Make your own judgment and that's it

I haven't played since the nerf patch prior to season one, and I can say that I'm really enjoying the game quite a bit. They are headed in the right direction without a question.

DM's description of what he wanted for Infernal Hordes is exactly what I wanted and when I found out you could only make enemies tougher I decided I wouldn't be checking out S5. I feel like the designers of D4 do literally every single thing wrong on the first try. Instead of having a mode that could have felt different, it just feels like playing the Pit or Helltides or Nightmare Dungeons. None of these modes feel any different to engage in when it comes to the moment to moment. So, I'm glad they're adding activities, but just changing the rewards of something doesn't change the experience. I want an once of variety in my end game and, while they're very, very slowly making progress on that front, they could easily have made a giant step with this mode and instead decided to leave the end game as problematic as it was. Fail.
@@caseybrown6813 I am going to come back to S6, to see what the expansion offers. Apparently, there are going to be some fairly significant reworks of core systems. S6 is more or less the last chance I'm giving them. They either bring it up to snuff or I'm out. By then I may have TQ2 and POE2 to take my time, so if D4 isn't up to snuff by then, I won't have a reason to go back.
@@vn8106 I am in on the expansion, for the story and systemic reworks, but it's kind of my "D4's last chance" moment. We're going to have POE2 and TQ2 at some point in the next 6 to 12 months and if D4 can't get itself together by S6, I will be out of patience.
You know why diablo 1 and 2 were so good? It's because they didn't create those games on a monthly content drip, it was created and finished as a complete game. This monthly hide and seek garbage does nothing to entice me to play it again, it actually does the opposite. . .
Were good. If d2 were to be released nowadays instead of 20 years ago, the game would be ranked 5/10 after season 1 coz no new content is added. Your generation was easy with no extra contents, newer generations don't. No new content no matter how good the base content is, is asking for reviewbombing.

The last season where people played a lot was when phoenix sin was reworked. Seasons after that became dead game. Even d2r shows us that new contents every season matter.
I'm glad it's feeling good. For me though, I played S4 and had a good enough time, and don't see a ton of reason to play S5 two months before a major expansion that they've hinted has some pretty major changes coming. I'll be back then for sure.
I am amazed that Blizz is getting away with presenting the addition of essential game functionality as though it was seasonal content. Season 4 and now season 5 have certainly added some great changes, but as for seasonal content... What? The iron wolves track? Which persists in season 5, so is it going to be something eternal as well? Because there is little else that is seasonal.
Making every season a different game would not be beneficial at all. i'd say 9/10 people want small changes and rewards to play for again with a fresh character like in D3. I do hope that the next season or Season 7 is more like D4's season 2 (Actuall changes to every class / Extra powers) making the same build feel different.
@@wildscooter1 Have you played D3? Its seasons were the best. Shaking up gameplay tremendously, every time. Ok, admittedly not every season was a banger, but every season was very much its own thing. Blizz even said to expect "bigger seasons than D3", but so far I am very much underwhelmed by what they have given us. Now I'm not saying that D4 does not need the attention it has been getting; I just want seasons to be more like D3, and preferably I want Blizz to deliver on their promise of "Bigger".
After seeing this I'm glad I decided to skip season 5. Usually pre-order too but not buying expansion till I see reviews, the new class didn't look that interesting
If you played s4, there's maybe not enough to keep you interested but if you played the previous seasons before that it's gonna be a huge change! Also the mode you kinda wished for was present in d3. I'd say this is more fun though overall. Haven't played that much yet but it's quite fun and it's also a lot more than we'd expected. Pleasant surprise for the short season leading into the expansion.
@@SuperLifestream only played one class every season just because i was pretty sure it was gonna take a year before they made it fun. S4 i played necro for the first time and then actually played barb and necro too. This season it's sorceress wich i haven't touched since vanilla.
Poe also, we have a overly complex game only a small community plays because it changes so often and requires so much time that most people don't like it. Played thousands and thousands of hours of poe and I'm so done with that game. D4 is a better game hands down for just enjoying and not doing quantum physics to have fun or just to be "mid" in the game.
Come on brother I don't mind D4 at all but to say it's "hands down a better game that PoE" is just straight cope to the maximum D4 is probably like the 4th or 5th best ARPG behind games like Poe, LE, Grimdawn, D2, D1 and TL2.
My only gripe, I still think more ways to get glyph xp is needed, hell, a thing at the end of infernal hordes that gives glyph xp based on how many aether you have would fix that, and would be super rewarding

Biggest problem with the season for me is i don't ever want to do a nightmare dungeon again because they have had us farm the hell out of them every season. Im glad to not have to do pit if i don't want to. Currently playing flurry rogue, pretty cool they changed up some of the skills as well as the items. For some reason though they combined defenses to offenses for the class and if you don't have lucky hit you can't do any higher content. Maybe they just wanted the build to be for ladder pushing idk but the speed farming with flurry feels like speed hacks
I have been playing POE Settlers and I was planning to check out D4 when I was done .. but I am having more and more fun with POE and have zero interest in D4 as the months have gone on.
The fact I cannot get there Glyph esp is my major no-go point for the season. Beside nightmare dungeons being nightmare boring at this point I do remember they promised we shall have at least a different reliable source for glyph exp
Great take man. Personally would love to see the next step for Diablo is to turn it into WoW, complete atmospheric change between worlds, flying mounts, large scale raids with other players with world tier levels dungeons, PVP, Weekly or bi weekly raid rotation updates, learn new mechanics etc. As a fairly casual D4 player, I currently just feel the game being an arcade leveler while playing, no real meaning behind what I'm doing I guess. Currently I just spam dungeon or helltides until I get bored, they are cool ideas but idk it feels like I'm trapped in a small box that could easily be alot bigger. TLDR: Give us WoW but Diablo
there's like 3 strong builds, which require some very high end gear and/or extremely specific stats to include greater affixes. outside of that most builds feel very bad at bossing or dealing with the high end (level 150-200)
DM's assessment of the S5 mechanic is pretty much how I feel about D4 in general. It's a collection of OK things that are nice to have but there is nothing really strong enough to make me want to log in and play.

Update: told you I loved pet builds the best. Spent seasons 3 and 4 playing necro and now playing Druid pets for the first time. I love it so much. Fulfills my fantasy for the first time since launch. One reason why is the movement boost btw, so yeah, level 62 right now and melting nm dungeons.
Not true. Guess you werent around for the POE beta and later its launch out of EA. D4 has developed A LOT more than PoE did in its first year. However, Blizzard is a bigger company so that’s no suprise. But please, stop spreading these biased lies. You can enjoy PoE how much you like, nobody cares, you play what you enjoy. I find myself to enjoy the gameplay of D4 more than PoE, and i have thousands of hours in PoE and supported it since closed beta when they only had 3 acts and 3 different difficulty levels. However, i wish D4 had a more in depth path of endgame progression like PoE has. But gameplay wise (gfx and sound effects, how abilities feel etc.) D4 is the king of ARPG’s. I just wish they had more of a endgame. PoE leagues you can play for 3 months straight, while ur basically done with D4 in 2-4 weeks. Still, i dont go around spreading false information and lies about a game i enjoy less. I find it funny that the D4 andys never cry ”PoE bad!!!111”, they just enjoy the game. And the PoE crowd gotta’ say ”D4 bad!!!” Everywhere they go. Like you have to validate your choice of game to yourself almost. Just, why? Play what you enjoy the most, and leave it at that.

It's just another boring system they put in. It's like a mini trail version. I don't understand why they can't do something different. POE has so many different end-game things you can do that feel different. Like the mines, blight, or mapping.

You can level super fast in Infernal Hordes starting at WT3. You can level all the way to 100 just by using IF T1 sigils alone because monsters will scale up with your actual level - even beyond the normal level cap of 75!
Kinda bummed that the seasonal journey has no cool cosmetics this season either. At least past seasons, we got mounts and mount armor. Working towards cool cosmetics was something I really enjoyed in D3 😢 Sad that now they want us to pay for everything instead of earning them.

It’s fine. I’m a casual 40 hr a week mid thirties guy and I enjoyed playing this past weekend as a sorc. I have yet to do infernal hordes etc. it’s sort of always just the same tbh. This game. Every season. At least season 4 was pretty new in its tempering system. I think they’re really putting their ammo into the expansion. So idk if I’ll play this game much beyond the lvl 55 sorc I made over the weekend
Only playing Sorc this season. Quickly blast through with fireball and go back to PoE cause I'm loving their latest season. Alright season, fun to jump in and blast, wish the horde mode had unlimited mode 🤘🏻
@@mystic_taipan8660 I must admit he's hinting at the truth, here. Hack'n'Slash are hitting the gameplay stonewall, these days. For it's obviously a Crucible ripoff. Only this time, it's an endgame segment as opposed to "get a kick start early on" like in Grim Dawn.
I done by first Hoarde last night as a level 50 in WT3, it was just a Tier 1, but I actually liked it. Almost would have preferred having 90 seconds of the waves. that said I was easily killing stuff, but not that easy that I was waiting for spawns. It saved me for materials, I stuggle in the mid game with mats for tempering and putting my affixes on my items as I upgrade them, just doing 1 Hoarde tier 1 and selecting 5 materials caches and the rest gear (I had 160 aether) really helped me out at this stage. So looking forward to doing a tier 2 then moving to WT4 and going higher. For me the whispers are faster because they just shove all the objectives into any zone. So you can basically work on 4 different objectives at the same time (or 6 when its 3 map subzones). My problem with it always was the frikken doomsayers, running around looking for one in some cases took forever in some helltides. And typically in S4 I had to hit up 2 doomsayers per map subzone, and it would always take far too long to find them because the map wouldnt light them up like it does structures to destory. At least now for whispers I can work on cinder collecting, killing stuff, opening all the chests, while looking for the doomsayers.
I don't know if I can stand playing any more D4.. it's just so fucking boring.. the classes, the monsters, the dungeons, the items.. all small brain, all boring, generic, one stupid season after another with nothing worth looking into and nothing significant being added to the base game, each additional system is just made irrelevant by the sheer.. nothingness of the feelings of the end game, there is no rarity... it's just a dumb game made by a bunch of corporate spreadsheets. No itemization, nothing to do at the end, and crafting is basically non-existent, some people might call the tempering/master working a crafting system but they'd be idiots, etc, etc, there is not enough bad things that can be said about this failure of a game. My friend group that played these types of games moved from PoE to Diablo 4, and now.. no one plays ARPGs at all, no one willing to play PoE because "Diablo 4 is better.".. even though we actually played and enjoyed PoE.. D4 is just boring and pathetic & nobody can manage to force themselves to play it for more than 20 minutes without switching to another game.
Homie glazed over that weapons were opened up. Like a sorc can use a mace and a sword now for extra buffs and the uniques are much better and more creative
It's a good gameplay loop for a few days. It's not the kind of game you play continuously. Play the season for a few days/a week and then move on to another game until the next season, nothing wrong with that.
The way I put Infernal hordes to friends is its a pretty fun mode done in the most unimaginative way possible. The mode had so much potential to be great, but its just pretty good. Which is honestly all I think blizzard is capable of anymore.
I hate that we are still in beta....they change new mechanics every other season...I don't wanna re learn the game every damn 4 months....no thanks games good but re learning the game over and over...just stop...it's boring and choreing

Tbh, I hate having to run nightmare dungeons for paragon glyphs. I'd rather do these fast-paced helltide like events over running dungeons anymore. I hate being forced to do stupid side objectives just to reach a damn boss room. It's annoying, which makes me feel bored faster with the game. Also, the loot does not matter after a certain point, and constantly dismantling or selling stuff because I didn't find an immediate upgrade to my loot gets boring very fast. Loot, reborn, ironically enough, got pretty boring for me rather fast.
I want to see more changes to be honest. I'll wait until season 6.
Infernal Hordes is the first time since playing Diablo 4 that I had that "anxiety," of "oh god there are SO MANY GUYS ON SCREEN!"

I actually quite like the Infernal Hordes. It’s nothing crazy, but it’s fun to play a mini horde mode that gives crazy exp while leveling. I just wish there was a better way to level glyphs that didn’t force me to not engage with the seasonal stuff
i feel like they are super nice to supplement leveling and gearing. its always more efficient to do NMD's at higher tiers, so doing infernals first then doing super high level NMD's cut down on the time spent grinding em

On god, glyphs need to be reworked so they just level as you gain xp. I normally hold off as long as I can just so I can do 80-100s and lvl them quicker.
D4 needs more variation in end game. Eg in PoE you run maps but the layout, look and feel is different. In d4 we do helltides/pit that is exactlty the same each run

I ran jungle valley thousands of times last season in poe. Poe has depth, chase items and an economy. That's what makes it good....
@@danielfry8097 That's by choice, not design. If you got tired of jungle you could have loaded up a different map. I ran hours of pit and saw 2 layouts. And no modifiers to change things up.
The new Seasonal content and mechanics aren’t fantastic, but decent. And I think the game is headed in the right direction overall for sure.

The game keeps improving and the world is interesting and beautiful. In terms of ARPGs its definitely top tier. PoE is the hardcore option and D4 is the best softcore option. LE is boring as fuck and grim dawn has needed a sequel for over a decade lol. These are all my opinion but the evidence supports it.

Im having a great time with season 5. The unique changes are very good they feel quite powerful and build enabling.
Tempering had some small improvements but still needs work
The infernal hordes are really fun. And super high xp I did my first one at level 65 and when i ended it i had 26 paragon points to spend lol.
If you dont like running nightmare dungeons just do 1 or 2 helltides in wt4. Youll get enough infernal hordes compasses to get you to level 90 or so. Then you should have enough gear and strength to handle nmd100 which gives you tons of glyph xp dramatically reducing how many you have to do
I grew up with Diablo 1 and 2, i dabbled in D3 not as hardcore and I do not believe the PC we have in the house will run D4 to warrant getting it :(

Depending on your rig try something like lossless scaling on steam. My desktop can run everything fine, but I have a slightly outdated 3060ti lenovo legion laptop that hasn't got great performance. On low settings I was getting maybe 30/40 frames. Boosted to about 105/120 just by using this app and runs miles better

I'm having fun, I managed to get to a Mythic Unique (Heart of Selig) off of cap stone boss on wt3!
I noticed leveling is significantly faster. Playing as a flame thrower Sorc has made it easier as well. I also started a summoner Necromancer, but the start was kind of slow until I got corpse explosion. It doesn't feel as OP as it did in the previous season; but it does OK. As for the season story, it's tied into the actual story, so that is a good thing; and as usual you have to grind out monsters drops for those caches. The devs didn't take away the item and gear system from the previous season, so that is good. The Infernal Horde will keep you at the edge of your seat. We'll see how it goes when it comes time to farm uber gear from the bosses. I quit playing the previous season because target farming didn't work for me. I never got the Tempest Roar drop, ever lol.
Doing the bosses (Non uber) gets you ALOT of uniques and they are super ez to spam. Getting stuff to quickly is not fun but i get that some people dont actually want to grind the game.
If you dont wanna put in the time dont play a build with Uniques at all.

I did not uninstall it but I played a bit and it was still a grind and a bit boring. I will see how the expansion will land and take it from there to perhaps give it another shot.
I came back after leaving when season 3 ended. Now I'm watching all the videos for all seasons to get a better understanding of how the game has evolved over the past year👍🏼👍🏼. Already at level 11 after 30 minutes or so. Gotta learn about tempering. It is easier grinding out levels now for Sure. We will see how this season goes. I'm interested in seeing the communities reaction to this season after a few days or weeks of playing.

I am enjoying this season quite a bit tbh. DM feels like a POE main now, hard to imagine a favorable outlook for D4 from a POE main lol
legendary loot dropping left and right, it dilutes the value of everything
This combined with the faster leveling in general, had me leveling a new build to 100. It's so easy to bring a build online early, and that makes the leveling fun.
Till they grow the skill twigs into skill trees, it's a no from me
100%, the build variety in D4 SUCKS! All I ever see are the same builds because options are slim to none. In POE one skill gem can be manipulated into a number of ways to use the skill and there's 275 skill gems and 177 support gems. POE has so much build variety that even if you follow a build, you can still make changes to it to make it your own.
Perfect take. I love the changes to the Uniques. It makes getting them or even farming them way more worth it and its cool how depending on what drops for you, you may actually decide to switch up builds and it still be super viable.

God I hate IH design now that I see it. I'm okay with the choices being mob buffs+aether gains. Your idea is cool, it's roguelite and fun, but current implementation is fine. The problem is collecting rewards at the end. Last Epoch did something amazing with Lightless Arbor where you have a vault room and you spend currency on a bunch of choices that effect what's in the chests. Something like: When you click on the loot room, a dialog pops up showing you currently have 1 chest with dinky rewards. In addition, it shows a bunch of options each costing aether. One that's always there and repeatable is "add another chest for 40 aether". Other option ideas are: "Add 1 empowered legendary to all chests for 100", "Add substantial crafting mats to all chests for 80", "Add sockets to all legendaries for 60", "Spend all remaining aether to add gold to all chests", etc. You choose what you want, then the room opens, and the chests you've designed are there.
My fave game to revisit? Ashen. I can't explain it, when i want to mess around and listen to music and only have an hour, I think Ashen is a great game. It's got a great art aesthetic, it's sort of hypnotizing.
They said it was gonna be roguelike but its not. The fun of roguelikes is how different each run can be due to the variance in your OWN upgrades. There is none of that here.

I know Diablo 4 has it's vocal detractors, but I for one really enjoy this game. I love the artwork, context, music, the sad and macabre feel, and much more. Yes, it is a work in progress, but isn't every game? I am excited about the future of its development.
I don’t get the meeting of this. Why would i need those items if I’m 100 lvl. What can i do next after this? For me I finished the game, i played 2 seasons but didn’t really get what to do there…and never really felt the need to upgrade my weapons a lot.
Played season 0 quit and now came back for season 5 until War Within drops.
D4: Fight monsters in a slightly different way.
POE: Build a whole damn city.
If D4 had added that instead of PoE, people would complain that city building doesn't belong in an arpg, just like they did with the Season 3 traps. I play multiple arpgs and I can't take people seriously when they try to complain about D4 anymore.

Infernal hordes are insane for leveling. Two buddies and I leveled up from 15 to 48 in just one infernal horde event.
The original 15 levels was doing the capstone dungeon.

@enightc I played season 4 and think season 5 is great. Like they redid every unique and added a bunch of aspects. PoE “might” give you a new gem or support gem but they’ll cover up their lack of gameplay content with other modes that tbh are kinda lackluster. At least with D4 getting new/updated uniques/aspects EVERY SEASON can implement new builds

DM's description of what he wanted for Infernal Hordes is exactly what I wanted and when I found out you could only make enemies tougher I decided I wouldn't be checking out S5. I feel like the designers of D4 do literally every single thing wrong on the first try. Instead of having a mode that could have felt different, it just feels like playing the Pit or Helltides or Nightmare Dungeons. None of these modes feel any different to engage in when it comes to the moment to moment. So, I'm glad they're adding activities, but just changing the rewards of something doesn't change the experience. I want an once of variety in my end game and, while they're very, very slowly making progress on that front, they could easily have made a giant step with this mode and instead decided to leave the end game as problematic as it was. Fail.
TLDR: Just don't play the game, Bub.

@@caseybrown6813 I am going to come back to S6, to see what the expansion offers. Apparently, there are going to be some fairly significant reworks of core systems. S6 is more or less the last chance I'm giving them. They either bring it up to snuff or I'm out. By then I may have TQ2 and POE2 to take my time, so if D4 isn't up to snuff by then, I won't have a reason to go back.
@@vn8106 I am in on the expansion, for the story and systemic reworks, but it's kind of my "D4's last chance" moment. We're going to have POE2 and TQ2 at some point in the next 6 to 12 months and if D4 can't get itself together by S6, I will be out of patience.

I'm glad it's feeling good. For me though, I played S4 and had a good enough time, and don't see a ton of reason to play S5 two months before a major expansion that they've hinted has some pretty major changes coming. I'll be back then for sure.
I am amazed that Blizz is getting away with presenting the addition of essential game functionality as though it was seasonal content. Season 4 and now season 5 have certainly added some great changes, but as for seasonal content... What? The iron wolves track? Which persists in season 5, so is it going to be something eternal as well? Because there is little else that is seasonal.
Making every season a different game would not be beneficial at all. i'd say 9/10 people want small changes and rewards to play for again with a fresh character like in D3.
I do hope that the next season or Season 7 is more like D4's season 2 (Actuall changes to every class / Extra powers) making the same build feel different.
@@wildscooter1 Have you played D3? Its seasons were the best. Shaking up gameplay tremendously, every time. Ok, admittedly not every season was a banger, but every season was very much its own thing.
Blizz even said to expect "bigger seasons than D3", but so far I am very much underwhelmed by what they have given us.
Now I'm not saying that D4 does not need the attention it has been getting; I just want seasons to be more like D3, and preferably I want Blizz to deliver on their promise of "Bigger".

They need loadouts ASAP! and make glyph XP substantially better not to mention make it so you can earn glyph XP in other areas outside of NM dungeons

If you played s4, there's maybe not enough to keep you interested but if you played the previous seasons before that it's gonna be a huge change!
Also the mode you kinda wished for was present in d3. I'd say this is more fun though overall.
Haven't played that much yet but it's quite fun and it's also a lot more than we'd expected. Pleasant surprise for the short season leading into the expansion.

@@SuperLifestream only played one class every season just because i was pretty sure it was gonna take a year before they made it fun. S4 i played necro for the first time and then actually played barb and necro too. This season it's sorceress wich i haven't touched since vanilla.
Infernal Horde gave me 98% of the XP needed to level from 99 to 100 at tier 4, somewhere around 22M XP.
D4: We made a new game mode where you fight mobs in a circle.
PoE: Hold my beer.
Poe also, we have a overly complex game only a small community plays because it changes so often and requires so much time that most people don't like it. Played thousands and thousands of hours of poe and I'm so done with that game. D4 is a better game hands down for just enjoying and not doing quantum physics to have fun or just to be "mid" in the game.

Biggest problem with the season for me is i don't ever want to do a nightmare dungeon again because they have had us farm the hell out of them every season. Im glad to not have to do pit if i don't want to. Currently playing flurry rogue, pretty cool they changed up some of the skills as well as the items. For some reason though they combined defenses to offenses for the class and if you don't have lucky hit you can't do any higher content. Maybe they just wanted the build to be for ladder pushing idk but the speed farming with flurry feels like speed hacks
I have been playing POE Settlers and I was planning to check out D4 when I was done .. but I am having more and more fun with POE and have zero interest in D4 as the months have gone on.
The fact I cannot get there Glyph esp is my major no-go point for the season. Beside nightmare dungeons being nightmare boring at this point I do remember they promised we shall have at least a different reliable source for glyph exp
Great take man. Personally would love to see the next step for Diablo is to turn it into WoW, complete atmospheric change between worlds, flying mounts, large scale raids with other players with world tier levels dungeons, PVP, Weekly or bi weekly raid rotation updates, learn new mechanics etc.
As a fairly casual D4 player, I currently just feel the game being an arcade leveler while playing, no real meaning behind what I'm doing I guess. Currently I just spam dungeon or helltides until I get bored, they are cool ideas but idk it feels like I'm trapped in a small box that could easily be alot bigger.
TLDR: Give us WoW but Diablo

there's like 3 strong builds, which require some very high end gear and/or extremely specific stats to include greater affixes.
outside of that most builds feel very bad at bossing or dealing with the high end (level 150-200)
DM's assessment of the S5 mechanic is pretty much how I feel about D4 in general. It's a collection of OK things that are nice to have but there is nothing really strong enough to make me want to log in and play.
D4 still just somehow seems like less than the sum of its parts.
DM only plays one class when S5 is all about new builds, new synergies.

Update: told you I loved pet builds the best. Spent seasons 3 and 4 playing necro and now playing Druid pets for the first time. I love it so much. Fulfills my fantasy for the first time since launch. One reason why is the movement boost btw, so yeah, level 62 right now and melting nm dungeons.
D4 is just an obvious hamster wheel. Makes it unplayable for me. Poe hides the hamster wheel much better

Not true. Guess you werent around for the POE beta and later its launch out of EA. D4 has developed A LOT more than PoE did in its first year. However, Blizzard is a bigger company so that’s no suprise. But please, stop spreading these biased lies. You can enjoy PoE how much you like, nobody cares, you play what you enjoy.
I find myself to enjoy the gameplay of D4 more than PoE, and i have thousands of hours in PoE and supported it since closed beta when they only had 3 acts and 3 different difficulty levels. However, i wish D4 had a more in depth path of endgame progression like PoE has. But gameplay wise (gfx and sound effects, how abilities feel etc.) D4 is the king of ARPG’s. I just wish they had more of a endgame. PoE leagues you can play for 3 months straight, while ur basically done with D4 in 2-4 weeks.
Still, i dont go around spreading false information and lies about a game i enjoy less. I find it funny that the D4 andys never cry ”PoE bad!!!111”, they just enjoy the game. And the PoE crowd gotta’ say ”D4 bad!!!” Everywhere they go. Like you have to validate your choice of game to yourself almost. Just, why? Play what you enjoy the most, and leave it at that.

The variety of things you do in the endgame is a step in the right direction, but it’s not quite enough . S2 was the closest to what I’d call actual new content, but this season the grind has improved significantly for the first time. I’m torn
It's just another boring system they put in. It's like a mini trail version. I don't understand why they can't do something different. POE has so many different end-game things you can do that feel different. Like the mines, blight, or mapping.

I started POE for the first time two weeks ago, I will never touch Diablo4 again.
You can level super fast in Infernal Hordes starting at WT3. You can level all the way to 100 just by using IF T1 sigils alone because monsters will scale up with your actual level - even beyond the normal level cap of 75!
Wave based combat; my most hated _SIDE_ mechanic from Grim Dawn (Crucible) and Last Epoch (Arena) as a main seasonal mechanic. Definitely not for me.

Kinda bummed that the seasonal journey has no cool cosmetics this season either. At least past seasons, we got mounts and mount armor. Working towards cool cosmetics was something I really enjoyed in D3 😢 Sad that now they want us to pay for everything instead of earning them.
They gave everyone the barb cosmetic for half the price if you go premium lol. It's kind of funny the amount of rinse and reuse

It’s fine. I’m a casual 40 hr a week mid thirties guy and I enjoyed playing this past weekend as a sorc. I have yet to do infernal hordes etc. it’s sort of always just the same tbh. This game. Every season. At least season 4 was pretty new in its tempering system. I think they’re really putting their ammo into the expansion. So idk if I’ll play this game much beyond the lvl 55 sorc I made over the weekend
I got to about level 40 and called it quits, it already feels like work.

Grim dawn doesn't work with more than two ppl. It's always super laggy for the third person.
I done by first Hoarde last night as a level 50 in WT3, it was just a Tier 1, but I actually liked it. Almost would have preferred having 90 seconds of the waves. that said I was easily killing stuff, but not that easy that I was waiting for spawns. It saved me for materials, I stuggle in the mid game with mats for tempering and putting my affixes on my items as I upgrade them, just doing 1 Hoarde tier 1 and selecting 5 materials caches and the rest gear (I had 160 aether) really helped me out at this stage. So looking forward to doing a tier 2 then moving to WT4 and going higher.
For me the whispers are faster because they just shove all the objectives into any zone. So you can basically work on 4 different objectives at the same time (or 6 when its 3 map subzones). My problem with it always was the frikken doomsayers, running around looking for one in some cases took forever in some helltides. And typically in S4 I had to hit up 2 doomsayers per map subzone, and it would always take far too long to find them because the map wouldnt light them up like it does structures to destory.
At least now for whispers I can work on cinder collecting, killing stuff, opening all the chests, while looking for the doomsayers.
I don't know if I can stand playing any more D4.. it's just so fucking boring.. the classes, the monsters, the dungeons, the items.. all small brain, all boring, generic, one stupid season after another with nothing worth looking into and nothing significant being added to the base game, each additional system is just made irrelevant by the sheer.. nothingness of the feelings of the end game, there is no rarity... it's just a dumb game made by a bunch of corporate spreadsheets. No itemization, nothing to do at the end, and crafting is basically non-existent, some people might call the tempering/master working a crafting system but they'd be idiots, etc, etc, there is not enough bad things that can be said about this failure of a game.
My friend group that played these types of games moved from PoE to Diablo 4, and now.. no one plays ARPGs at all, no one willing to play PoE because "Diablo 4 is better.".. even though we actually played and enjoyed PoE.. D4 is just boring and pathetic & nobody can manage to force themselves to play it for more than 20 minutes without switching to another game.
Homie glazed over that weapons were opened up. Like a sorc can use a mace and a sword now for extra buffs and the uniques are much better and more creative

It's a good gameplay loop for a few days. It's not the kind of game you play continuously. Play the season for a few days/a week and then move on to another game until the next season, nothing wrong with that.
The way I put Infernal hordes to friends is its a pretty fun mode done in the most unimaginative way possible. The mode had so much potential to be great, but its just pretty good. Which is honestly all I think blizzard is capable of anymore.
I hate that we are still in beta....they change new mechanics every other season...I don't wanna re learn the game every damn 4 months....no thanks games good but re learning the game over and over...just stop...it's boring and choreing
I paused D4 in S4, got a bit bored, and played Hollowknight this summer that had been on my backlog for a long time. Amazing game!
I might return to D4 but for now I think it will be another metroidvania for me first.
