My dad is a retired police for the city of Miami and he alway got me into every Hurricane game for free. In this was one the best games I attended too and the experience was amazing.. omg you had to be there to understand 🙌🏿
Same year Louisville Miami game 😉 this one and that one were the best home games that year. I sat in the North end zone with the crazy people 🙌 Great times.
This was the game that you knew the Miami potential dynasty was done. They were just too undisciplined. Larry Coker ran too loose of a ship. Butch Davis installed structure that the Miami program hadn't seen since Jimmy Johnson. When the guys that came up in that structure started graduating, the ship started slowly sinking. Coker just wasn't enough of a hardass to continue that structure.
More to it than that. Coker, like all the former UM assistants and players were not capable coaches. Cristobal can recruit but he ruined TVD by playing him hurt. Cam Ward's about 75% as good as TVD but Cristobal will ruin him. Look for a 7-6 season at best.
I had a rare chance to attend a Maryland @ FSU game (I’m a lowly Maryland fan) that was going on this same night. They were flashing score updates on the Jumbotron as this game went on. When it was 33-10 the stadium cheered and there was obvious buzz. I just remembered taking mental note of it cause FSU obviously had rivals with both teams. I assumed it mostly had to do with Miami’s recent dominance of the time. Strangely I was back in Florida on New Years later that season to watch Maryland destroy WV in the gator bowl. And I think that same bowl season Miami wound up beating FSU in a close one. Being in Maryland, I wound up casually rooting for Miami a bit because the Ravens D was anchored by Reed and Lewis for so many years. Random memories seeing this.
I think if Ingle Martin doesn't get knocked out of this game with a concussion, Florida probably hangs on to win it. Chris Leak was too young and inexperienced at this point, and he was unable to sustain drives in the 2nd half. Martin ended up transferring to Furman and eventually made it to the NFL for a few years as a backup, so good on him for ultimately making it to the big leagues after things not working out in Florida.
Man this was tough for The Gators not just because they blew a 33-10 lead, but a quarterback that was recruited by The Gators and was to take over for Rex Grossman burnt them in Berlin. Honestly, I think in the long run things worked out for The Gators. When Brock Berlin departed Florida that opened the door for Chris Leak who gained pretty good experience in 2003 and ended up leading The Gators to the championship in 06.
Mainly NCAA 03 thru 06. I like to play with the 2001 Miami Hurricanes in NCAA 06. Lots of good historic teams in that game and their historic playbooks for many of them.
Florida lost two close games in 2003 to the other teams in Florida (UMiami, Florida State) ⁉📚🏈Florida did beat the eventual BCS Champ LSU at LSU in 2003..😆
That man literally pulled the announcer curse on Chris leak right there on that last drive “Chris leak has never thrown an interception in his college career” yup not until you brought it up 🤦♂️🖕

One of the commentators seem so dejected after a Miami score. Statement....Unbelievable was his response 😅😂
Idk who you are but thanks for the memories. You got all the classics
Makes me wanna fire up the ole ps2 and play NCAA, back when EA was making good games...

Like I said Miami taught college football swagger
@ Fr fr
This guy is a Florida hater. Only shows videos of the Gators losing. Lmmfaofrs I see why with that O. His team has never beaten Florida.
Watching that kickoff gave me chill bumps...I didn't realized what I was watching as a kid
