Love the Mills Brothers so much thank you also love Dean💕😍love you too
Love this music. It’s just so real and not manufactured like so much of today’s music. This is real TALENT. Used to love watching these variety shows like Dean Martin. They always had great entertainers. Thank you for your reaction to this. 😍👏🇨🇦
Dean Martin was the king of cool - and he could sing
Agreed. And he was always thrilled to have the Mills Bros. on his program. And it shows...😀
Did you know that Harry Mills was Dean Martin's idol. This a special moment for him. He tried to style his way of singing after him.
Dean Martin loved the Mills Brothers, he was a big fan.
Such a beautiful combination Dean Martin and the Mills brothers what a lovely sound crooners 👍
Such a beautiful song from amazing vocals from Dean Martin and The Mills Brothers
Dean Martin said early in his career he use to see the Mills brother , that a lot of his style came from them. Harry Mills especially Harry Mills which is on his left. Notice Dean h
right hand is mainly on Harry shoulder or around his back. That's a sign of real affection for Harry, all of the Mills brother.
The Mills brothers are an awesome group to listen to, their harmonizing is so beautiful.
This was life back in the 60s and 70s. We had many variety shows like Dean Martin and got to watch and hear these amazing performers every week. I think we took it a little for granted.
............. The music in that period was fantastic. The oldtimers were still performing and recording. Pop music was great. Country music was up and coming. It was all there at one time. Yes, we took it for granted. Why would we have thought it would end...? Boy, were we wrong. Look at most of the music of today. Certainly not the same..........
@@josephgiustiniani2834 Not even close. Not the same ball park.
Mills Brothers. When I was getting into the Great American Songbook years ago they melted me. Just so cool.
Dean Martin loved those guys and that's where he got his smooth relaxed way of singing.
How I miss when TV was pure entertainment. Singers could sing great songa that you could actually understand,
The Mills brothers were performing from 1928-1982! Magic...
Dean Martin was the greatest entertainer of all time. Anything you watch from him is pure gold!
Dean was the most handsome of the " Rat Pack" imo!😍
I've loved Deno since I was a child!! ❤️
I love the Mills Brothers. Talk about Old School! Check out their record "Bugle Call Rag' for more of those great vocal horn sounds.
I snuck into a Club in Rockville, CT to see them years ago...the Kings of Harmony!
A memory to certainly cherish.
Harry Mills had the greatest influence on Dean. Not Bing or anyone else. It was Harry.
@@rayjr62 yeah I've heard that, Dean looked up to him.
Dean Martin was a great singer/entertainer...but, most of all he LOVED people and was very personable!
.................And he loved the Mills Brothers...............
Just pure class
Mills Brothers were favorites of my grandmother. Me too. I have a bunch of their records. Beautiful harmonies...since the 1930s.
When entertainment was fun!
You're so adorable how giddy you are but this is definitely a great video I like the pairing of the mills brothers with Dean Martin.
Love the mills brothers and they were brothers. Thanks love Dean Martin also God bless take care
English was Dean's second language. His first was Italian.
If ever there was a guy who looked like he was greased with coolness, it was Deano, lol.
Dean Martin adored the Mills Brothers and Harry especially. You notice at 4:42 into this video, Dean puts his arm around Harry and just keeps it there. True admiration. Also, No mixing, no auto tune. back in the day when it took talent and technique to be an entertainer!
Love the look of joy on you're face when you watch these old classics it's priceless... more Judy Garland please... great channel ❤
My dad would listen to the Mills Brothers all the time, and Nat King Cole.🎤☺
Both The Mills Brothers and The Ink Spots were very important to the development of early R&R in the late 40's and early 50's. Early Doo Woppers copied their harmonies and occasional recitations.
Look for up the lazy river with Dean and the Mills Brothers Dean was so happy and proud
you are beautiful and have a heart what you are watching now i felt the same way many years ago 1960 s thru now. thank you and i love your videos.
I have always liked this song.
They were a quartet at first. And their dad sang with them also. A quintet. You can see the absolute joy that Dean Martin had singing with those three men he admired so much. I remember watching it on TV as a youngster. That was certainly a different time.
Wonderful. Thank you. I love the Mills Brothers & love Dean Martin. I remember when this song was popular, back in the middle of the last century. It got a lot of radio play and might even have been in the jukeboxes. I knew all the words. 😊
This video brought back so many wonderful memories. The Mills Brothers were one of my dad‘s favorite singing groups. They had the smoothest sound.
Dean Martin had a lovely voice. Try listening to Volare, On an evening in Rome, Little ol wine drinker me
The Mills Brothers were indeed brothers, though when they started off, their father, John Sr, sang with them until 1956. Then they went at it as a three piece.
One thing about this video is that Dean Martin was a HUGE Harry Mills fan, and said frequently that Harry was the guy he wanted to sound most like. I certainly understand, he had one of the premier voices of the swing era. The trio was one of the tightest groups out there, they breathed and phrased together in ways that remind me of Duke Ellington's sax section. I could listen to the Mills Brothers for the rest of my life and not feel shorted in the least.
.............. I know they are a trio, but I always consider the guitar player the fourth. And Dean the fifth...! IMO, they really should have done a couple of albums together. Imagine how blessed we would be to hear that. Lets not forget, the shows we watched of the Mills Brothers and Dean were done live....! And pulled off perfect. Imagine in a studio with a talented band. I would have bought that album without even hearing it first. Can you tell I really like these guys and their music..????
@@josephgiustiniani2834 I certainly understand. I understand ANYONE who feels that way about them.
Music was SO much better when it was real. We could always tell, even as kids, when someone was faking it to a recording. And when they were really doing it. What a shame that we've allowed the industry to mess with the real reason people like music, the emotional things it makes you feel.
Same with movies and other entertainment. Watch an old movie from the 40's and tell me it's not better than what they are doing today. Watch the original of 12 Angry Men and tell me they are doing anything even CLOSE to that, now. I sound like the old man I am, "things were better when I was a kid", but they REALLY WERE.
Grew up on Dean Martin's show back in the day.
You always show such good taste. Saw these gents in concert when I was about 21yo & was blown away. And definitely, they were brothers. How they could imitate instruments was amazingly realistic.
It was a joy to watch you as well.
I grew up listening to Dean Martin. Back then it was the cassette and Walkman. My favourite songs of Dean Martin are “The Peanut Vendor” “Not Enough Indians” “In the Misty Moonlight” and “Open Up the Doghouse (Two Cats Are Coming In) which was a duet with Nat King Cole. Please have a listen to Johnny Cash singing “Man In White” I’d love to know what you think.
The Mills Brothers were from Piqua Ohio near Dayton and were an aquaintance of my moms Boyfriend Jim pleasant. They had a no 1 hit with Paper Doll in 1943 written by Band Leader and writer Johnny Blackfrom Hamilton, Ohio ...my Hometown and my Grandfather played drums on occasion with him in the Late 20' s and early thirties. Check out all of the Mills Brothers records and Johnny Blacks history...it' s real interesting⚘⚘⚘😀
The best!
you should check out some more of Dean Martins variety shows songs he had some wonderful people on there and some great laughs
These old guys were awesome
That was beautiful!
My mother would sing this song. I love it.
You should react to the Mill's Brothers singing with the J5. They were older then.
Mills Brothers, girl.....soooooo smoooth
I love your reactions - very genuine and excited.
And I LOVE the Mills Brothers!! Their voices - esp Harry. And of course, Dino was the coolest.
And yes, they were brothers.
Have you heard Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime by Dean Martin? Wonderful song, one of his big hits
i still have some 33 vinyl s of mills brothers and dino..
The early Mills Brothers stuff is great. 'Sweet Sue', for example.
Just have fun.☺
React to Dean Martin and the Mills Brothers - Up a Lazy River
Yes they are really brothers
Dean Martin styled himself after his hero, Harry Mills. Dean sang like him, dressed like him and performed with him whenever possible.
Great song and great entertainers. Unlike the tripe they call music now days.
I hope you have time to listen to the Mills brothers videos on RUclips. Their voices were the best.
I love your smile
He was discovered by the mills brothers. He said he copied alot of harry's mannerisms. I love the mills brothers and i have been a fan of dean martins since i was a little girl and i. 58 now
Dean was called the fifth Mills Brother. He loved those guys and they loved him. The way they performed shows the respect they had for each other. Dean has said that Harry Mills was the guy he emulated. That is saying something. They are all gone now, as this style of music is also gone. But we have proof that it used to be with us. Sad that it's gone.
Can you please react to Dean Martin- Ain't that a kick in the head or memories are made of this.
Love the mills brothers would you please do cab driver or there is a really old one called caravan done in the 1930’s. There were 4 brothers, one of them passed.
You might like to sample a little Swing music, a genre of Jazz. I'd recommend Benny Goodman and his Orchestra, SWING, SWING, SWING, from 1937.
Listen to Boulder to Birmingham by Emilou Harris. If you can, get ahold of her on vinyl. Pure beauty of voice.
Paperdoll was written in 1915. +100 yrs ago.
Andrews Sisters.☺
When I was a kid, the kids played with paper dolls, which the younger probably do not understand.
when performers had class
Don't forget Satchmo.🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺☺
👍👍👍🌹🌿💃🏽🕺🏼🎼🎺🎷🎹💖
you seem to like the older songs ---just like me.
There were four and a Dad originally. Watch the really old songs.
No. Originally their Dad was not involved. He had his own barbershop quartet.
Check out Bing Crosby singing "Up a Lazy River" & "Paper Doll" with The Mills Brothers on his radio show in 1949. It's great: ruclips.net/video/1g9aNSESkd8/видео.html
You should be paid by RUclips why not?
Dean publicly stated he copied the Mills Bros style of singing
If you liked that one.. Here's a great clip of Dean singing with the Andrew Sisters:
