- The 2023 Volkswagen Amarok is here! Whilst it hasn't launched for the public yet, we were fortunate enough to have a drive in it and see what it's like on the road.
Featuring a 3.0 V6 turbo diesel, this mighty lump puts out 240bhp and 600Nm of torque that provides effortless levels of performance - in a massive truck!
This new one shares the same platform as the 2023 Ford Ranger but offers a more lifestyle focused approach, as it evident by the extremely high build quality and nice little touches throughout the cabin.
What's most surprising about this Amarok, is just how much fun this thing can be! On a tight twisty road, we were grinning from ear to ear.

I have a V6 Ranger - great engine.
How do you find it?
@@AutoHouseMotoring Great bit of kit. 8000km in 4 months. Toured, towed, been up the mountains and along the beaches. It deals with everything effortlessly, while returning 9.8l/100.
Having PanAmericana on backorder since february... I really appreciate such review from "average Joe" (no pun intended).

Have you driven the next gen ranger
Not yet unfortunately so I cannot compare - I do know the interior is broadly similar

@@jasoneldridge4738 That is true, but I have yet to drive a 'Ranger' so to speak
Can you point the camera to the road so we can see what you see instead of us watching your face throughout the whole review.
In other reviews I can, I didn't have much time with the car and had no way of setting up a forward facing camera
However next year when I attend I will certainly have more cameras with me 🙂
