That’s because California has had enough hurricanes. Louisiana has lots of traffic, but reason why Mississippi it’s because it’s the state of hospitality. Our residents are really nice and thankful.
Although I agree about the beaches not really being beaches, there is alot of great in MS. Cost of living, jobs, low taxes - and most parts of the state are GREAT to raise a family. People are mostly friendly in many of the places we visited, and lived - more so than in other states. Yeah - if you eat restaurant food, you will put on some weight here, the flavors and meals here are some of the BEST in the US. The education systems here may be spotty from town to town and county to county, but if you make the right choices, your children will get an excellent education - and I would say better than some places "known" for their public (government) education systems. And yes, there can be some racial idiocy here - just like anywhere else I've seen. From "both" sides of the fence. As long as the counties and towns in MS find ways to KEEP the LIBERAL (morally corrupt) mentality out, it will continue to be a great place to live. All in all, I am surprised it is not higher on the list, but maybe that is because of preconceived notions, some of which are expressed here in other comments.
The social and political attitudes in much of Mississippi are still rooted in the 19th Century. And their state economy favors the haves over the have nots with little to no upward mobility. Bottom line, there's nothing in that state to attract most people to migrate. Low wages, high poverty, terrible infrastructure,, stagnant economy, terrible K-12 education, substandard healthcare system, high infant mortality rate, most unhealthy people, I know many people who have migrated to other places from Mississippi. Most had no desire to ever return. Bottom line, for most people, Mississippi is a good state to be FROM. With the exception of Louisiana, and maybe Arkansas, there are better states in the south to migrate to like Tennessee, or Texas.
All is not bad about Mississippi. There are some great communities like Gulfport, Hattiesburg and Laurel. Real estate and associated insurance and property taxes are among the lowest in the nation.
@whiteprivilege912 , You are brave in front your keyboard. But can you solve 7x-9y=z, solve for z , y=3x and take the first derivative with respect to z
i love that some of the stock footage you used isn't even from Mississippi lol

I just subscribed but Mississippi like most of the south is extremely racist and to find a good job will require more than luck.

@whiteprivilege912 Solve for x, then you can continue solve 7x-9y=z, y=2x, z=y/2
I would never move to Mississippi that racist ass state
