Honestly you get used to it when it happens every other week (and that's just the ones you can feel). Anyone living in an earthquake prone area can testify to it. It's so topical, you're either used to it and it doesn't bother you, or you've never experienced it and the very idea freaks you out.
I live in Japan so I can tell you that small earthquakes, like this, are barely noticeable when you're on the move. Much less so for the elderly. But when you're stationary on ground level, then you can feel it (and feels much more powerful when you're in a multi-story building). I remember chilling in my 2nd floor, 60-yr old dormitory when the March 11 earthquake happened back in 2011. Felt like the whole building was going to collapse even though I was in Tokyo (which was super far from the epicenter compared to the areas hit by the proceeding tsunamis).

Remember that 2011 earthquake that hit the Northeastern US? They estimated overall economic impact in of several billion dollars, even though nobody died. It was mostly because a quarter of the country decided to take the rest of the day off.
At least in my country, they still inform us after 30min-1hr. So I can confirm my doubt that it really was an earthquake and not just me getting dizzy.

I was in Japan for only three weeks and 6 earth quakes occurred that I was aware of. 2 pretty intense ones, 2 that I realised where happening and then the last 2 I didn’t even pick up on. Honestly after the first couple you’ll get used to smaller ones like this. Meanwhile an earthquake in Europe always messes with me like you’re not supposed to be here
