    I love the options that this interface has. I am actually looking for a device that has a small footprint for ease of travel and remote recording. I appreciate the snapshot option. If the ADAT in/out can do 20 in and 20 I might be interested but I will need a remote break out box. Perhaps AES would be better. At the studio I use a Zoom L20 as a live room capture device for the DAW mix room. I'm looking now at remote recording set up.

    Very direct and helpful, thanks!
    I think playback could do with a bit more explanation - it looks like you can only listen to a maximum of two recorded channels at once if playing back through the main or phones only, but if you're recording on more than two inputs you really want to hear everything to make sure it's recorded! Presumably you can arm the play button on all the input tracks and listen to the full multitrack recording that way in totalmix. Is this possible in standalone mode? [For example in your 'Setup 6', if you'd recorded on all 12 inputs, would you need to set each channel to 'play' before saving the setup to the device?] Thanks for a very clear intro to durec tho.

    Thanks for the clear break-down, guys. Can you simultaneously play back DURec files while recording new DURec files?

    Can you arm a track, record, then arm the next track and record while hearing the previously recorded tracks?

    Thanks for the vid! But how can I listen to the recorded tracks in stand alone mode or use the headphones for monitoring during the session?

      Hi there! You can listen back to recorded tracks on the unit by pressing the REC/PLAY button, then scrolling to the play button at the bottom.
      In terms of monitoring, this RME Forum post may help to answer your question: forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.php?id=12889
      Hope this helps!

    Is it possible to record software playback channels? (Row 2 in TotalMix FX)?

      Hi, I don't believe there's any option to record software playback channels directly using DURec. However, this can still be achieved by routing your software playback channels to any of your unused outputs in TotalMix FX, and then activating that output for recording via DURec.

      Hi, it sounds like you need to format your drive to FAT-32 with Master Boot Record enable. See this post on the RME Forum here;
