I do agree, we really need this kind of tool on the waters. Cultiva pliers were actually developed by Halco, and not for anglers but for those who rig lures at their production. These pliers are the best for medium rings if you need to rig a lot. It take some time to learn how to properly use them, I watched the video by Halco about them and at the lowest speed when a lady rigged lures. But I use them only at home. Having something made with only function in mind is not exactly comfortable on the water. For finesse fishing I use Taka V-150 pliers. They have very narrow lips and work with rings 00 though 2 size well. Have cutters and good for unhooking too. Rare case of cheap and rather good quality thing. In terms of cutters, I prefer it to be on fishing pliers, but I use special pe cutter which is quite small and handy. Pliers will do if main option is lost, left at home.... Thanks for sharing your experience.
I think far too many people actually take this bit for granted. There are no do it all pliers and we can't always do everything in the comfort of home, so yes...one thing to do something and another out in the field! Cheers for the comment :)
To tell you honestly - any brand works, just as long as it is the right size for your split rings. If you use the Shimano one in smaller split rings, it tends to open them and leave a gap. The main advantage of better brands of course is the reliability, there are other brands out there that are good and can do the work for less money - but the main point is, you have to get the one that fits your needs - in short, you can not have only one and expect it to work on all sizes.
I do my videos the way I do because a lot of people in my audience are new. If you think you are an expert and don't have the time to listen, you can either click and skip, adjust the speed of the video or look for answers elsewhere. I don't ask you to pay for this information so there is no need to comment like you are entitled to tell me what to do.

Hello! What be better for a 7-10 size Owner p-25 split rings, Shimano 561 or Owner GP60?
Great info. Love to geek out on all this fishing gear.
Glad it was helpful to you! :)
Hello my friend I love this video on split ring pliers 👍🏼🎣💛
It is good info :)
For 8kg split rings is there a specific size pliers please?
8kg isn't specialized, there are a lot that can do the job.
Hi Kit! What would you say about shimano pliers. Are they really good at corrosion resist?
Unless they are stainless steel, they won't be super corrosion resistant. Shimano pliers - Shimano CT-5XXX pliers are excellent.
Can you tell me the advantages of a offset Shimano split ring plier vs a straight pliers?
To tell you honestly - any brand works, just as long as it is the right size for your split rings. If you use the Shimano one in smaller split rings, it tends to open them and leave a gap. Bro... This 1 that 1...you haven't mention any brand name.... Doesn't help anybody
Its not about the brand, it is about the type - i dont think it would be useful of i mention brands and you cant get them.
GET TO THE POINT
