he is either doing a demo or practicing a demo for the airforce. its called an unrestricted climb, its not often a pilot gets an opportunity to do it. it also has combat applications if needed.@@defiverr4697

The F16 stick originally did not move. it was fixed and just detects force applied. but pilots found it hard to detect center/neutral. and kept pulling indefinately even though plane was already at max G.. they bent those fixed sticks so now they have 1/4 th of an inch movement, so pilot knows when it is center, and knows when it hits the max deflection
