You know you could really feel the passion on screen because they were lovers off screen and soon became husband and wife. You could see the REAL passion on screen and that was what made it so good. I am lucky enough to feel this passion with my love even though it took me until I was 42 years old and divorced after 20 years of a loveless marriage. You are never too old. I am so blessed to know what this kind of love feels like now. Some ppl never find it and some ppl just throw it away.
This is so hauntingly lovely. Every time I hear it, I imagine Heathcliff and Cathrine wandering the moors together. Thank you for posting.

This movie is just so incredibly gorgeous. I love love love the dark tone to Catherine's and Heathcliffe's love. The 2009 version with Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley makes me cry every time! Even the book made me cry- and I wasn't the biggest fan of the novel- and I'm not a crier.
This piece of music is exquisitely poignant.
The love of my life ended our relationship 10 months ago, and I can honestly say that I felt, and still feel, the same pain Heathcliff did when Cathy died, because something inside me died when the man I believed to be my soulmate broke my heart. I cry every day and still have dreams of us walking hand in hand, as we used to, along the beach, or when we'd just cuddle together watching tv. This is, in my opinion, the best version of Wuthering Heights. It has truly captured the torture and torment of losing the love of your life, in this absolutely beautiful production of a timeless classic.
This music reminds anyone who is moved by it, that there are many, many, Heathcliffs and Cathys out there, just trying to make it through another grief filled day.

This song is SO fucking (excuse my language) PERFECT for this scene. It makes me cry listening to it. He was finally at peace knowing he'd be with Cathy again. I know it's fiction but I do believe stuff like this happens in real life with real couples in differnt circumstances. This SONG is a MASTERPIECE thank you Ruth Barrett for making the tears fall everytime. I'm not ashamed to say that because it means you did a EXCELLENT job. (Thank you also Tom HArdy too for making such an incredibly believable Heathcliff

This is so beautiful, there are no words. If real life was lived the way this music reflects itself, the way this music touches your heart, touches your soul and the way it makes you feel, then there would be only peace and love in each persons heart and soul, every day of each persons life throughout the entire world. Music can be exceedingly powerful, as this example shows. I believe music of this nature could heal the world, if only people would open themselves up and allow themselves to be free to the experience of letting something so gentle and loving in.
I ve never loved this love story till I saw this film for a case...
I think the actors have expressed perfectly the feelings Emily Bronte felt when she wrote the romance.
This is the only version that makes me fell emotions and real.passion...

This theme did the author proud let alone this particular version. I believe when such beauty is created, it exists somewhere in this exact form, in some far off corner of existence, like a colony for lovers.

I haven't seen this version... (music is beautiful to be sure,) but does it portray the story anything like book? Y'know, the digging up of her grave and laying next to her corpse thing, the wicked nature of Heathcliff, and his sickening smile in the upstairs room when he's died of a twisted heart and disemboweled soul? Has any version done this? Cause as a kid I loved the old black and white, (still do, love the melodramatic soundtrack and delivery of classic lines,) but holy shit, I read this a few years back and I gotta say, this Bronte sister had a keen eye for demonstrating dysfunction. I dare to say it turned her on.
I haven't read the book but it does fit most of your description. I dislike the 1992 version and couldn't empathise with any of the characters. But the 2009 version is amazing and Tom Hardy carries the whole film with his incredibly strong acting. His version of Heathcliff is so charismatic and destructive while baring his pained heart for all to see. And the music is so fitting for the scene that it appears in. If you are looking for a modern adaptation of Wuthering Heights, I believe this is the best version.
Matthew Wilkinson Heathcliff wasn’t wicked. He deserved his revenge after waiting endless beatings to get it. I can empathise with Heathcliff more than any other character.
@@joannietrotter2344 He was treated cruelly by others yes, which explains his bitter nature. But he also inflicted extensive harm on innocents. We owe it to ourselves to be more than our upbringing.
There are a couple of inaccuracies in this one but to me it is still the best adaptation.
