I grew up on a boat similar to this one. It was so fun and nostalgic to see this. Everything is the same but in different place then the one I lived on. So cool!
I recall seeing these at the shows back in the late 70's & early 80's. They were big, heavy, solid boats. I loved them in all their gleaming teak glory but boy, all that wood requires lots of work. Looks like this one needs lots of work but assuming their is no major hidden damage, it's a good boat to put the effort into. They are nice, classic looking yachts.
Nice overview of details but I don't have a clue as to how the boat looks on the inside overall. A wide angle lens and shot down the center would do wonders.
The Hudson Force 50 was used in the movie 50 FIRST DATES. Captain Ron was filmed using a 1978 Formosa 51 Cutter Rigged Ketch. Very similar design as the majority of cruising yachts back then all came out of the same TAIWANESE SHIPYARDS with the same carpenters building the interiors. All the Formosa & Hudson designs leak water from there decks (Unless recently refit) so they also earned the nick name "Leaky Teaky's". There is a couple sailing one right now on RUclips (SV ZERO).
Upon winning the power ball I would buy a Hylas 56 for serious cruising but I would absolutely own this for the pure sailing ambiance and showing off to my friends. (Having won the Power Ball I am sure I would have lots of friends.) It is a BEAUTIFUL boat!
All she needs is edison generators and dynamos upgrade and update. The keeling is very likely off keel and needs to corrected.. still good at any price.
Did you watch this video before you posted it to RUclips? Why is everything close up. I got really seasick watching you film this otherwise beautiful boat.
What's the price? How is it equipped, radar, water maker and so on? What major maintenance has been done in all of the years? Is there a recent survey? How old are the sails and the rigging? This video tells a potential buyer nothing.
Aft deck, why don't sales people learn more about the proper terminology and sail lingo. It would help sell the boat if they seem an Able Body Seaman VS. just a sale. Caaaamon...so much history out there...
You need to take a class on how to shoot a video. I can't see the boat because every shoot is within inches of the object. one thing i could tell was that all the wood needs work. There is skill in presentation. You don't just take a phone and shoot.
This boat design sure looks identical to the sailboat used in the movie Captain Ron... Shame the engine room is not identical to the one in the movie (lol watch the movie and you will understand the engine room joke)
“very nice lighthouse umh.....paper”, blah blah blah ! Dude, that boat is a turd ! Jutst say it, it’s a turd, and don’t try selling every turd out there !
No. Just no. This is ridiculous. You can replace that boat from pulpit to stern for 200k. Watch the channel Sailing Zero- they sail one around the world for definitely less than $20k/year, all in.
zooom out your camera man so we can see the boat... it's like watching the blair witch project!

that was nice
Your videos are excellent. A slight wide angle lens would take your videos to another level.
Lots of close-ups. No wide angle shots. Probably done with a cellphone.

Attention to detail? I can see what you are talking about and hear what you are saying and the two don't add up.

Daniel Clint right? He mentioned the woodwork a million times though.
he has no selling point
what about the autopilot
Get a wide angle camera for interior views. We saw nothing.

Do you still have this boat and if so what is the asking price?
what was the price for this Yacht?

what they charge for a slip in San diego for a boat this size ...???
Too much
Na ja, der Zustand unter Deck ist so la la und der Teppich weckt in mir den Verdacht, dass das Schiff nur im Hafen liegt.
somebody needs to acquire some skills on how to take videos
Still available
With American is always crazy wonderful. This boat needs work 😫

This was pretty typical cell phone video from around 2012.
Great boat. Terrible video.

Aaaaaaaaastop all the aaaaaaa’sand back up slow down
Your voice is so hot!!!
It's literally Eddie Jemison. (The Punisher 2004, Ocean's 11)
At minimum it would take at least one hundred thousand dollars per year to operate and maintain this vessel..
no it will not.
Rule of thump, 15-20% of value to maintain a sailboat a year
@@jacobjorgenson9285 Rule of thumb - You clearly have not seen Boondock Saints sir.

Was this a drug dealers boat?
So much waffle!
This guy says "uh" a thousands times. Pretty monotonous.
