And to add to that Dan was a bit annoyed with the phandom and wasn't fond of the shipping and all and that made him all the more distant. It was when Dan had a breakdown and was extremely insecure with all aspects of himself, he never talked about the ship with Phil because I'm guessing he was really uncomfortable with being portrayed as gay so it was the year he really guarded himself and tried to seem extremely masculine. It was a sad year for everyone in the phandom and for both Dan and Phil. Dan also got extremely thin in such a worryingly short amount of time, he was so so distant from his phans and with Phil. He really tried to prove how straight he was and him and Phil just looked so tired all the time. But now it's great! He's so happy with himself and his relationship with Phil, romantic or not they're both really happy with eachother! He even wears pastel and glittery nail polish.
