    very nice tutorial, thanks a lot!
    another "trick" to place subtools, is to use "Array Mesh" with "radial" turned on.
    so you dont have to mess with curves, and can position/rotate the subtool, then every copy of it will get updated live 😊👍

    Hi Scott, great tutorial! I learn a lot from your videos. I have a question for you, and I'd be grateful if you could answer it. I followed all the steps in your video, and the end result was very good. However, with live-boolean turned on in Zbrush, I cannot transfer the design to the Keyshot for rendering. The program wants me to turn off the live boolean. How can I get around this problem? Can you explain, or would it be possible for you to make a video about it?

      I’ve personally never used Keyshot but if it won’t allow you to have Live Boolean on to transfer, I would try running the boolean and importing the booleaned mesh into Keyshot. You can go to the Subtool palette > Boolean > Make Boolean Mesh. It will create a new subtool in your project of the booleaned model. You should be able to import that one for a render.

    Is the a way to center the curve, horizontally and vertically, to keep the piece a perfect mirror of each side, or can we only adjust it manually until it looks right?

      Hello Eduardo. Scott isn't aware of a way to perfectly mirror curves sides. You could turn on the ground plane and use the grid to be more exact, but that likely still wouldn't produce a perfect result. But since the piece is so zoomed in, and the actual dimensions of the piece so small, the difference in sides would usually be negligible.     is there a way to limit the amount of beads that appear on a curve? ive been testing with just getting a certain amount of beads to go around a cylinder with no luck. Also, when changing the curve step they just move away from the mesh rather than adjust the spacing

      If you're going for a certain number, I might use Radial Symmetry rather than using Curve Mode with an IMM brush. I wasn't able to reproduce Curve Step pulling the IMM brush away from the model, but I would make sure to check your Depth settings in the Brush menu.       @@RioGrande1944 thank you for replying! I tried with radial symmetry but the objects had the same rotation as where the original brush stroke is, rather than go off the surface normal.
      So I found out the issue was created due to me trying to update the curve with settings when clicking on it, if I were to create a whole new curve with the curve steps then it would work as intended but with depth issues. Depth seems to have a hard limit to it so I can't just change it to fix the issue

      Yes, once you start adjusting the curve, everything tends to lift off the surface. I personally haven't found a workaround other than splitting the stones out of the main design and adjusting manually. Bit of a pain, but I haven't found a quicker method yet. Best option is to get as close as possible when drawing the initial curve so there's minimal adjustment later.

    It's a pretty long process and not so handy afterall doing all those process it's not perfect at all.
