Today I finally take a bit of time to give me thoughts after having played in the second closed beta for the upcoming MMORPG, aRPG hybrid- Lost Ark Online.
I played Lost Ark for about 40 hours in the just over a week long beta phase to give you an idea of how much I enjoyed the game.
Lost Ark succeeds in feeling like more of an MMORPG than an aRPG but leaves the door open for fans of both to be attracted to it. I am back on board the Lost Ark hype train after having been on and off probably about 20 times by now.

I could learn Korean before we get it in English
memorizing hangul will take you less than an hour. Took me a week to be able to communicate with korean in mmo.

compare korean to any other asian language and it become ridiculously easy to learn, even compared to dutch or german or french
Korean is super easy to learn. Speaking it is a little harder but reading and writing are easy.
One thing is for sure and it's that this is the best looking asymetric arpg game I've ever fucking seen. Everything from the animations to graphics is just fucking stellar
It's also indescribably smooth to play. Everything is just so fucking fluid it doesn't make sense.
lets keep saying 'fuck' to express how good we think it is.

You have no idea how happy I was to see this in my subscription feed. Im really hyped for this game. Thanks for devoting a whole video to it. Cant wait for it come to the west. The genre as a concepts alone is so interesting. The idea of multiple sub classes sounds great.
I tend to play single player games the most and I think because of this I find most MMO combat boring. Even black desert online gets repetitive at a certian point. I feel like theres only so far you develop a combat system in an MMO.
Oh and I definitely need polish in an action rpg. Couldnt play grim dawn because of the weak animations and sound design.
A well put-together video. I really appreciated your section over polish, it's definitely an underrated aspect I wish was more popular.
execution on this is just sooooo well done, it doesnt reinvent the wheel but everything it does it does it well enough for you to apreciate everything

Lost Ark is certainly a beautiful prospect. I've been keeping an eye on this game for the last 2 years and the more I hear of it, the more I'm convinced that this will be my MMO of choice. International release or otherwise.
Who knows? Maybe the development and publishing team behind it may look at videos like yours and really start thinking about a global release.

Just imagine playing Lost Ark, Diablo, Mu legend and PoE with FPS viewpoints... the horror. I don't even think anyone would be able to see anything .

Wow... I was never really interested in Lost Ark but your video really showed me what I might've missed.
This game really looks like it has some great aspects... The "magic punk" setting reminds me of Vainglory. And the mini-stuns in combat remind me of Maplestory, of all things.

I am still working on my game and it has a lot more to go but I may try playing this and taking aspects of this, league, wow, TES online and skyrim and games as such I know the RPG game is going to be better with every piece of content like this I see or play! Good video and tanks!

Thanks, great video. I agree fully about polish. As a long time WoW player I really struggle transitioning to most other MMOs on the market purely because of this. Many of them the game play feels clunky or floaty or too rigid. I do find it strange that so many MMOs dont get the feel of their characters right, I mean, that is the core of the game, surely you would want that 100% before building a world around it. Especially because once theyve pinned the character movement down you will almost never see them alter it because theyre too scared itll chase their current player base away.

the game is not closeted or anything is it? it looks straight to me.
I've been lways wondering about the "feeling" of the game, and im really glad that u provided the information. Devilian and MU Legends are so clunky i couldn't stand it while playing. it's great that Lost Ark not only looks good, the polish aspect really matter

They should avoid redoing the voice acting to this game and keep all the sounds and voices the same as the korean ones, and just use English subtitles. It would be cheaper, easier, and honestly, probably sound better.

problem with these korean rpg is they announce the game and start the hype like 5 years before they finally release it, and if you don't live in korea maybe wait another 1-2 years for the English version/servers. By the time the masses can get their hands on it, they already forgot the game exists, or its becoming outdated

This is the only MMORPG in 8 years I can say looks promising.. I really love this camera angle and design-technically they really used all the styles I enjoy the most in asian games. Same goes for the graphics, engine, setting, etc.
sounds almost to good to be true.. wish it was a mmorpg open world but i kinda like this as well, now lets wait another 2 years xD
best thing about Lost Ark is how they are pushing NCSoft's button again and again and making them push back release of Lineage Eternal. At this point NCSoft have been doing lots of rework in Lineage Eternal because of Lost Ark's continuous improvement and new feature addition.
Hey Fevir, this is one of the most, "clean" videos I've seen on LA yet. Can you tell me about the PVP? Will there be a full owpvp server or ability for guilds to war others making it open world between those guilds? Have you tried Lineage Eternal?

great explanation of the game dude. I was wondering if you could share some info on the weapon and armor system. Is it more like ARPG style where you are overloaded with gear of varying stats or attributes? Or is it just something lame like a new weapon every 5 - 10 lvls

Uhh one thing thats wrong is that FFXIVs world is seamless, except for when you teleport or load a whole new region. Zones do not have loading screens.

One thing im really worry about is the game turning in another p2w madness.The game has all the potential to introduce a cash shop items that help you breaking time sinking walls for life skills , something like in BDO, I know is still early to assume that will be a p2w cash shop , but this is the reality of korean games , they all have a cash shop.
Let's hope that wont happen :)
This is like Star Citizen. Starts with a good concept. People support it. With time, the concept to becomes a real game...but then the endless features. It would have been wiser if they had released the game and kept adding the side activity features post launch. When you release all things at once, all of them start becoming familiar at the same time, making players lose interest at roughly the same time or worse, become overwhelmed, but if you do it in sequence, there is always something new and it's a better pace to learn.

I've been following the development of this game for at least 5 years and even tho I have Grim Dawn (and now their super amazing expansion) to hold my hype from getting out of control, I SIMPLY WANT TO PLAY LOST ARK NOW!!!! I've waited for too damn long and it still looks like Imma have to wait even more... My patience is running thin with this game. =/
Another good MMO game from Korea that would be a huge hit giving the developers and publisher a lot of cash (and also a lot of fun for MMORPG fans that they deserve after all those years). Unfortunately it will most likely be published in EU/USA 1 or 2 years after korea and it will be same story like with Dragon Nest, Blade and soul and many others. (A little bit a little too late)
What I am afraid is... for people that doesnt have a lot of time to play and want to enjoy the game.
Seems every new MMO they add more and more freatures and sadly people dont have extra hours during a day to do ALL the things, but hope its not that type of MMO where its full of dailies which can take 4 -6 hours to complete without looking at the extras.
Still I will try it for sure
the one issue i have with how she was walking across the beams, if she can't fall at all, then it seems a bit trivial and pointless to put a feature in. like look what we can do, it has no point, but it sure as hell looks cool.
Now go all Lazy Peon and give us a "What's bad about....". Also don't forget the possibility of Trion getting their hands on this one.

The map is instance based. Loading screen betweeen new maps. It means that End game will be being afk in the town and queueing for dungeons?
