It is SOOOOO amazing I love it! Thank you so much! We will totally make some welding lessons happen...and we can DJ with the Rubens' Tube while we are at it! 🔥😝⚡️🎶 Thanks again for such an incredible gift!!
Thea I love love love my lamp! THANK YOU! Totally mesmerizing and just aggressive enough. 😆 And I loved watching it come together in this video. Happy holidays!!
Yayyyyy I'm so happy to like it! And I appreciate your understanding about the need for certain levels of aggression....😝😂😏 Amazing job on Colin's present and happy holidays!!! 😍
I absolutely lost it when you first lit it and this 2ft wall of flame erupts. That was comedy gold. Also well done on that tank light, that moving shape idea was brilliant.
thanks y'all!! the sofa backpack was INCREDIBLE!! hahaha - glad that @thehacksmith had somewhere to sit while he was roasting marshmallows on the Rubens' Tube 😂😂💯💯
This was defiantly my favorite part of the video. I loved the entire video but priceless is the only correct description to your reaction. I found my way here through the Makers Secret Santa series and am working my way through all your content. So glad I found your channel.
I watched Hackmaster make your gift, then found your channel for the reaction. I loved your butterfly light build too, that was beautiful. I will say, your creativity and last name reminds me of my fav childhood hero, named David Ulrich. He was a brilliant computer and electronic engineer. Seen him build things like an MP3 player out of a hard drive, LCD display, and a speaker. Or even a motor that automated rolling up the pool cover. He was like a real life tony stark to me, and my inspiration to get into computer programming. So I salute you makers, impressing and inspiring dreams of our youth. ;)
We could only imagine the alternate timeline, where Thea picks Colin Furze, or vice versa... The madness that ensues would probably be too much for us to handle.
i think that Colin is preparing for it by building out his bunker system. soon his home town will be a crater with a bunker. And Colin him self. (he has the safety tie)
YTMSS is possibly the best thing on youtube right about now. You get to see so many fun and interesting projects made for a specific recipient and also, the reactions all the while being introduced to new makers. I started with TOT a few years back and found all kinds of new makers and it's just been a blast. I like your style, and energy, keep it up and thanks to all the makers this year for making such amazing memories. Makes me want to get on the ball and finalize my own lil projects and maybe make short videos on them to share myself.
I started with Xyla and I've been following the Secret Santa Trail from "This Old Tony" (who, thankfully, listed all the Santa's) to here. When I got to your channel I immediately subbed and dinged that bell!! So many super talented makers giving us all joy this year! Your idea for light movement without mechanics was a stroke of genius.
What direction did you go? I started with The Hacksmith, then Kids Invent, then Alan, etc. Basically seeing the present at the end of the vid, then seeing how it was made in the next video.
@@gavinli1368 I started with Colin Furze, and followed from there for four further videos, going forward to see the gift received. So I got as far as T.O.T. before stopping for the night. Then today I found the playlist on the Kids Invent Stuff channel and watched in order. Colin Furze and Look Mum No Computer were the only channels I was subscribed to; I was slightly aware of Xyla Foxlin. I've now found a bunch of other awesome people.
@@thea_ulrich That was a clever way to create that effect, this could have easily been overengineered with actuators and a bunch of moving parts. The end result is really impressive. I'm looking forward to watching your subscriber numbers go through the roof!!
Just found your channel thanks to this years secret Santa makers exchange. Can I just say, I am in love with your style and vibe. Time to binge all your videos!
Ok tbh i had never heard of your channel until now, and holy ballz i love this channel already. Fire, engineering, welding, making epic stuff, electronics… how has this not been in my recommended. Never subbed to a channel from one video, yet here we are. I love it. Cant wait to see more of your stuff
First of all, your lamp is stunning. It pushes all of my art buttons. Second, your response to the Reubens tube is priceless. Third, I'm totally subbed to your channel now. Can't wait to see what else you make! Thanks for sharing!
Both elements of this video were fantastic. The lamp was stunning and the reaction was priceless. Also you and the hacksmith will make a great couple 💑
All of the creators did an awesome job with the Secret Santa builds loved everyone of them. Thanks to the tested team for getting me started on this playlist and some new channels to add to my watch list.
Your lamp is really incredible, the crazy reflected patterns paired with the animation is mesmerizing! Definitely would not have expected such a profound effect.
I didn't realize it but I had watched this video when it first came out. Now having spent time with you at burning man I have much greater appreciation for how truly authentic your reactions and videos are. so glad to be a friend, as well as a fan. keep building and keep making videos.
Holy shit, enjoy your ride to the top. This channel is gold and people are about to discover it. Well done on the tank! Looks amazing! LOVED the matrix solution to movement.
Can I just say seeing the happiness on your face when you realised what it was and first turned the rubens tube on was honestly beautiful! Especially with everything going on it brought a smile to my face 🥰
Just wanted to say Hi! I started the trail of gingerbreadcrumbs in Colin Furze’s workshop and here I am. Waow, you’re awesome. Why oh why isn’t this a +500.000 sub channel? Merry Christmas.
Hi Thea, nice to stumble on your creative channel thanks to the Maker's playlist. Subscribed! Awesome work, and I appreciate your colorful character (and art school knowledge) being added to the mix!
The lamp is fantastic! The fire audio thingie is amazing! I plan to do more sewing for a long time. I am currently working on expanding my dresses to fit my current shape. So far, its going quite well. I hope to get at lone per month done in the next 12 months
Just found your channel from this makers Xmas thing. The fire music tube is really awesome. Plus your name in a sound wave on the side, well done. Also, I am supper impressed with your butterfly wing light up wall art. Honestly, I am more impressed with the LED programing idea, than making a robotic arm. Smarter not harder, right. Well done! I'm subscribing.
that came out awesome! Quick tip for welding thin stuff to thick, heat up the thick material with a torch till its glowing, and then zap it, boom no more break throughs, and a series of quick tacks becomes the final weld. hope it helps :)
If the point of YT Maker Secret Santa is to drive subs to new channels, it worked. I subscribed in a heartbeat. Awesome light, but fantastic energy and... I don't know, spunk? Just awesome vibes from you. Keep up the good work!!
Very cool solution using the LED matrix for movement. That was one of those "remember that for the future" type of deals. There is something about music, fire, and dancing that makes for a primal cocktail. Cool content. Got here via This Old Tony. Subscribed. Merry Christmas!!!
Here from the Hacksmith channel. Ya, Thea! That is one sick lamp. I'm lucky enough to have access to everything I need. I'm going to try making my own. Holy crap that is awesome!

I came to thus video from the hack Smiths channel. And I'm so happy RUclipss algorithmic way brught me here! Thank you for your time and dedication to showing your passion!
Yep, James is definitely an engineer. Lol! I love writing manuals for people, because it is fun trying to work logically through something. When you write manuals you quickly realize that you make a lot of assumptions and everyone interprets instructions differently. Being clear and concise is a hard skill to master.
Loved your build! It would have been interesting to see it use multiple lights of different colors independently moving, so they form shadows that move separately and the lights create different colors where they overlap. I'm really glad you brought out the textures and vibe of the original object rather than hiding them.

Probably my Favourite build of all secret santas.
Would definitely hang that in the house

what a cool idea! that animated light/shadow show is hypnotic!
Well hello there! ;)
Hey, what are you doing here not making videos?!
"is this like cutting a guy in half, or is this something completely new" is now my favourite out of context quote.

The fact that this quote implies cutting a guy in half isn't new scares me
Same lmao
