  • The Kramer Nightswan was Vivian Campbell's signature guitar from 1987-1990. Vivian is most famous for playing in Dio, Whitesnake, and Def Leppard. This is the guitar he used in the video "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake, and is one of Kramer's more popular models.

I have the reissue Nightswan Aztec made in Indonesia I believe. I love the guitar!! It plays great, fretwork is outstanding. I got it from a dealer who got it fully setup though, so I don’t know how it came out of the factory. I can’t wait to swap the JB for a full shred and that F1000 for an original FR. In my opinion they are a great bang for the buck but they need a professional setup.

I actually currently own that particular Swan II in black sparkle you have pictured at 3:10 (easy to Id as those are the original owners pic with the EMG in the bridge) I can confirm that is actually a factory assembled “retail” Swan II. The original owner bought it from a shop in 89. Also had paperwork from the very early 90s when his tech put the EMG in. He included the factory pup, pot and input Jack when I bought it which is currently getting reinstalled with my tech. The serial number on this one is just 2 digits off of another black sparkle Swan II that is currently on the Kramer registry. It’s in amazing condition and I’ll probably put a short video up when I get it back

I still have my Aztec paint job Nightswan, owned since new. Still my favorite guitar.
I compared the rereleased Nightswan to my original and no comparison for me personally. It was too different, I was looking for the actual "feel" and it just didn't. I had high hopes, but just didn't do it for me. I might still get one or I'm also looking at the Stage master they rereleased as well.

I noticed that Kramer has been touting this Nightswan at Summer NAMM, but I have yet to see one actually for sale on the Epiphone website. Sure would like to see Vivian help give this guitar a proper rollout.

@@SoundsofTime Have you seen the Nightswan with the purple finish and the black dots? Vivian plays it during a WHitesnake tutorial and guitar techniques tutorial. It's here on YT titled "Vivian Campbell Whitesnake". It's really weird -- it has a Duncan Fs, JB, and a Duncan Telecaster single coil. He talks extensively about that guitar and introduces the Nightswan Series.

Glad I was never allowed (e.g., financially) to get caught up in that all. At the time, Viv became a fave guitar player (why, I can't say...long live Eddie V.) I think I was caught in "the times." Nonetheless, Viv rose to prominence (for me) b/c the "hair metal" thing was the sh*t. So I bought in. I got caught up in the whole Kramer Nightswan thing. After all, who doesn't do hair-metal, shred??? TO THE POINT: I never got a Night Swan; glad I didn't. I've obtained some other guitars over the years--some with middle humbuckers. I still can't figure out the tonal value/advantage to bridge humbucker + middle humbucker.

You are a little wrong with the fact that gibson actually started making Kramer guitars in 1999

I just bought a new Kramer Nightswan polka dotted finish
TERRIBLE QC!!!!!! do not buy a KRAMER. Gibson owns them now and they still have major QC issues
Misaligned necks, Floyd rose tremolos breaking off, the PICK ups are junk, the Pot is piece of crap( 1 on the entire guitar and its a .50 cent piece of crap)backplate randomly screwed on, really disappointed for $900 I was expect better quality and fit and finish
    BEWARE OF THE NEW KRAMERS!!!!!

A few people praised the new Kramer nightswan reissue on the Totally Rad Guitars below average review rating I agreed it does not seem promising from the looks of it
