Nooooooo. If you can recall Nolan's voice in the very beginning of destiny 2, I actually would've preferred that voice. I'm not a big fan of "dinkbot." I'm also getting sick of Nolan Norths obnoxious, piecing robotic voice.
They are doing something to Ghost, making it seem less like a friendly AI inside a flying Tricorder and more like an actual person. I'm starting to suspect that it may have been human once, or at least an equally sentient being, which has been "downloaded" into the Ghost frame. Mond you, this is only a vague suspicion, nothing more.

Hearing those line again and I can say that I think Peter Dinklage did just fine with what was given to him. It is just that he wasn't given anything that more then just one liners thanks to Destiny's "Storytelling".
It's cus if you compare his voice to game of thrones, you can see that they don't sound alike. That's what caused the hate. In here he sounds... Dead haha. But don't get me wrong I actually enjoyed his voice, I wish they kept him as the ghost
+AlXV True, I lliked his voice. Not sure why mostly everyone hated his voice. I wanted to make a video like this, but I guess this saved my effort! RIP Dinckles
Javier Linares In my opinion he sounds too animated for being some sort of AI, though I don't mind that as much. I also would have been disappointed if he did the voice exactly as Tyrion because that's just not what you want when you hire such a great actor. I like it when actors are given the opportunity to evolve and come up with a new style that might even be more memorable than what they've done in the past. It doesn't always work, but it would be so boring and a waste of a contract to have him do the Tyrion style.
So it's still bad even with new voice actors? I haven't played the new game. That's a sign of bad voice acting directors though. I suspected that about this given Dinklage puts out great performances in GoT.
I actively enjoyed Dinklage's Ghost. It actually detracted from my experience when they switched to North. (No hate on North, I just honestly loved Dinklage's take on the character.)
"The Fallen are getting smarter. It's like the entire system is wired to a... **ALARM** I'll work faster." and "...Just behind all those Devils..." are the lines I'll remember the most. I had to raid Sepiks Prime a LOT.
I remeber when we talked as a gaurdian. I remeber when we had dinkle bot. I even remeber when the strangers rifle was a rare. Year 1 gave me the best time of my life.
Even this many years later, with the profound effect of nostalgia, I still can't say he didn't phone all his lines in. Even when he was inflecting, he came off bored with the whole thing.
@@voidsabre_ We like the Mercury strikes quite a bit because Sagira and Osiris make such a good couple, and one of them is a Ghost that can be easily mistaken for a human.
Yea, I don't understand the complaining, he sounds perfect for what he's playing. I think stupid people just can't separate the actor from the character and don't like that he isn't "being himself" they can't rationalize that he's correctly being a robotic character
It’s been so many years, and I still miss Dinklage’s voice for my ghost. North has done a great job, but... I dunno. I’ve been playing since Destiny 1’s Beta (preordered for the key before they made it public and everything) and Dinklage’s voice will always be the voice of the true ghost, in my opinion. “We’re in this together now” Miss you, man.
He's done a terrible job what are you talking about lol he is so corny and has the absolute worst lines with the worst delivery. His voice has contributed to destiny being considered as gay as it is now
Dinklebot sounds much more like what a ghost should sound like, sophisticated, serious and an underlying submissive behavior.while Nolan droid is over dramatic, tries to be funny all the time and feels more like an obnoxious brother you have to take everywhere than the oracle robotic companion he's supposed to be.
Not arguing, because I did prefer Dinklebot, but to be fair, each ghost has a different personality, as we saw with Sagira, Sundance, and Ikora's ghost.
Dinklage definitely made Destiny a very scary game when you first started. That first encounter with the Hive had me terrified and it was all supported by how robotic and lowkey creepy Dinklebot’s voice was. Nolan makes it seem all too fantastical for me, losing that grit and ominous feeling Destiny used to have
Miss dinklage so much, he was the first ghost voice and always stuck with me, Nostalgia sure is hard to not get sad over when they bring back old memories of the good times(13). Now im 20 and covid is a thing now, gosh I wish I time travel was invented already
I missed when our Guardian talked, like come on Bungie wtf our guardian ain't link, or wait at least Link grunted and made a noise, you couldn't pay an actor to voice the guardians?
I miss when story actual mattered (at least somewhat) and when there was actual hope that we would someday get a new enemy race and a sequel with a new engine. Now we might not even get a Destiny 3 and they will keep just recycling the same content and races just putting them in different places.
Okay it wasn't just me, I'm a new player to Destiny 2 and while Nolan bit has a stick the size of a Titan up the ass he doesn't have, he's a lot more emotive to me.
Tbh, Dinklage to me was playing a character that was more interested in reading, being safe and couldn't be bothered by whatever the guardian was going through. Because he had the power to ressurect the guardian, he felt bored with his existence. So his monotone deliver on his lines felt justified to me. With that context I never understood why everyone hated Dinklage.
I love how RUclips went from making fun of Peter for his performance to missing it. I don't care that he's monotonous in it; it's a friggin robot and that was the point! In fairness, Nolan North is also alright, but it's way too much of a character change that I can't help but miss it.
I actually wish there were multiple voice actors for the ghost so we start our games up and have a different ghost for each character. I miss dinklebot my favorite actually

That line really demonstrates why they changed it. I'm still not a fan of the "new" voice, but I do think it's better overall than dinklybot.
Ghost is literally a robot, of course he sounds flat
@@qId3r That's like saying Vision from Marvel should sound stiff and robotic
@@2ScoopsPlz I like nether new voice but i like dinkle bot better
@@qId3r He shows different emotions in different scenes though. It’s a weird inconsistency.
If you are watching this in 2017 then you miss the real Destiny.
D1ZaST4R sure am
Yep
before the mentally retardted light levels before the horrible nolan north ghost
Watching in Penumbra. I never missed the real Destiny.
2019
honestly never understood the hate. i liked his naive cheeriness. it fit his character.
My favorite line is "ITS IN THE WALLS!"
The sword is close, I can feel its *-pOwEr-*
Man. I saw this and was hoping for the line, "Eyes up Guardian". My favorite of all time
I actively enjoyed Dinklage's Ghost.
Even when he was inflecting, he came off bored with the whole thing.
i agree
Lol Dinklebot is unamused.
That "its time to enter the black garden and finish this" line sounds straight up like he just read the line for the first time and called it a day.
Personally, that's my favorite part
He's a robot, and the almost bored sounding voice helps emphasize that imo
@@voidsabre_ We like the Mercury strikes quite a bit because Sagira and Osiris make such a good couple, and one of them is a Ghost that can be easily mistaken for a human.
What the hell was he supposed to do? He’s playing a goddamned robot.
Yea, I don't understand the complaining, he sounds perfect for what he's playing. I think stupid people just can't separate the actor from the character and don't like that he isn't "being himself" they can't rationalize that he's correctly being a robotic character
Ima tell you, five years later, we still miss Dinkle Bot.
“We’re in this together now”
Miss you, man.
Why’d he leave?
He's done a terrible job what are you talking about lol he is so corny and has the absolute worst lines with the worst delivery. His voice has contributed to destiny being considered as gay as it is now
Found this in my recommended. Not complaining one bit. Thank you for this nostalgia trip. July 8, 2019
Aaron Sullivan IKR this game has so many good memories attached to it meeting new friends raiding and just having fun with glitches
primary ammo not being infinite, dinklebot being the best ghost we can have, damn well better have me all nostalgic
2:13 "Here's what we have on Gay Lords"
GATE lords, fam. He said GATE lords.
@@dannycalamity ever heard of a joke before fam? Like come on now, don't be like the Gay Lords
"3 stories tall"
He's in a tank!
Yeah, how did this not make the list??
Dinklebot sounds much more like what a ghost should sound like, sophisticated, serious and an underlying submissive behavior.while Nolan droid is over dramatic, tries to be funny all the time and feels more like an obnoxious brother you have to take everywhere than the oracle robotic companion he's supposed to be.
Not arguing, because I did prefer Dinklebot, but to be fair, each ghost has a different personality, as we saw with Sagira, Sundance, and Ikora's ghost.
@@EXTREME_FLUFF
Ikora's ghost is calle Ophiuncus
@@meonkrishnanan5920 Thanks! I couldn't remember if it had name or not
Be strong, Guardian. Be strong for mother.
Breeze Weezy Thank you, they really fucked up
RUclips recommendations
2015: Nope
2016: Nope
2017: Nope
2018: Nope
2019: OH YEAH
Lmao same. I was wondering why this was here.
Dinklage definitely made Destiny a very scary game when you first started. That first encounter with the Hive had me terrified and it was all supported by how robotic and lowkey creepy Dinklebot’s voice was. Nolan makes it seem all too fantastical for me, losing that grit and ominous feeling Destiny used to have
Yes new ghost makes destiny feel childish
They don't need a new voice actor - they need a new script. Horrible.
MrFriendgoodfirebad Or also, a new director.
I'm pretty sure that they're adjusting the script so that the story line can be understood easier.
xBiscuitAssassin I hope so, because I felt a little lost about what the heck was going on.
Bungie is gonna need some aloe vera for that burn.
Damn about 2 years ago they replaced his voice now looking back these voice lines still sound better
I miss dinklebot
Jc Negron me too
"We've awoken the hive!" was heard way too much by me lmao
I can't believe you left out "that wizard came from the moon"!
Not even "a cell from the prison of elders the arcon priest is sill inside"
Neck'd LOL THAT IS SUCH A LOUD LINE
1:59 used to meme the heck out of this line with my old raid team
1:46 oh geez voice crack from dinklebot
If I was The Speaker at 3:09, I would not be able to take the guardian seriously. I'd be dying of laughter.
That's why he wears the mask, so he can hide a stupid grin he has when looking at some of the Guardians.
3DTyrant 😂😂😂
Lmao same
Speaker : "He is saying some serious stuff"
Speaker mind : bro , looks like you was a punk guitar player in you past life lol
Harvey price was electrocuted
I understand why they couldn't keep peter dinklage, but man this hits different. Nolans voice is good, but it has a completely different vibe.
Why couldn't they keep him? I wasn't around during then
@IRS, Claimer of child support and taxes Contractual obligations. He was still doing game of thrones at the time along with other projects.
Back when guardians could speak
I didn't remeber it being that bland and emotionless.
It's easy to forget lol but it sounds far worse then I remembered XD
BloodEmPrince ikr but as bad as it may be its still our dinklebot
Nevin Good the rest of the lines weren’t I promise!
I still like it better than the weird nerdy sounding voice now.
Okay it wasn't just me, I'm a new player to Destiny 2 and while Nolan bit has a stick the size of a Titan up the ass he doesn't have, he's a lot more emotive to me.
It’s been 4 years, and I still miss Dinklebot
would be awesome if dinklebot came back for shadowkeep!
"Oh, we slayed a gatelord."
All sassy n shit, loved that lil guy
I need someone to make a Peter dinklebot soundboard and mod D2 on PC so it plays Peter's ghost instead of the hot mess ghost we have now
1:30 I remember listening to this line.. and thinking about it a lot.. it's true and kinda fascinating for some reason to me
I didn't know he voiced for Destiny. That's awesome.
3:09 That hair choice.. xD
How could the Speaker take him seriously? 'Your Ghost will Gui... Guide y... Y... You've got some fucked up wig on your skull, you know that?'
Eric L lol
I miss Dinklebot's voice! :(
I liked peter Dinklage’s ghost much more then the new one to be honest
Still missing ol Dinklebot, felt like the tone of the whole series changed when he left.
“It’s in the walls!” Honestly that line takes me back! 😭
no 'that wizard came from the moon' line?
I don't think that line made it to the final cut. Could be wrong though.
Honestly i still prefer dinklage to this day
Tbh, Dinklage to me was playing a character that was more interested in reading, being safe and couldn't be bothered by whatever the guardian was going through.
2019 and I still think it was a mistake to get rid of Peter Dinklage. Oh well, he lives on in my Ghost Edition Ghost
renegade yes!
3:30 damn that music was a nostalgia sucker punch to the face
Makes you remember your origin doesint it.
