Hi Lisette, I do have a win. I finished “I Miss You” by Mandie Manzano in memory of my mom and dad. It took me a long time to start it because I would get too emotional when I took it out of the box so I kept putting it back. My dad has been gone for 25 years and my mom for 5 years. I know 5 years may seem like a long time to grieve my mom, but I’m single and this house still feels so empty without her. She was my whole world. Anyway, it turned out beautifully, especially with the extra enhancement drills I used. ❤
Hi Lisa - I'm giving you a virtual hug right now. So sorry for the loss of your parents. I totally get it I also worked on I miss u to commemorate my parents. Wishing you all the best.
Hello Lisette! Ok, I am not a Curtis R fan, but I like her! I’ve got most of Sheena Pikes “munchkins”. (Example Butterfly collector Brielle). I am finishing up within the next two weeks, “She Shed”. It’s a Dreamer Design. I am getting ready to kit up a mystery by DAC. I’m really excited about Black Friday. I don’t think I’ll be able to get anything. Hubby had a knee replacement. He’s off through December. There’s always next year! Thank You for the video! As always, I love your videos! Blessings to you!
Find your log book very interesting. We all need to be accountable to ourselves. Instead of having a closet full of things that we loved when we bought and now aren’t thrilled with them. Great ideas, thanks!😊
Lisette, I did a thing, and I'm not feeling great for it. I bid on a kit from eBay and won. It was listed for less than the original price, but with shipping, of course, it still ended up costing $60, which is pretty fair when it comes to how the secondhand market can get out of control. I don't need it, I have more than enough for a couple of years, but I just found the artist's collection, and this one had just been archived. Thank you for sharing your tips and your own struggles. For myself, I hope I can remember this sick feeling and learn how to set healthy boundaries with my money.
Oh now I'm really curious...Which one did you manage to get? I found a Diamond Painting on Vinted a couple of months ago and without thinking clicked the 'buy now' button. No regrets...but definitely another temptation. Enjoy your Ebay find.
I did almost the same thing you did a few weeks ago. I'm new to all this and started following your plan to control my stash before I'd even filled it up. But I was feeling a whole lot of FOMO. I looked at the log book to remind me of what I have, along with "window shopping" for the next diamond paintings, and turned FOMO into TMTC (too many to choose). I still like what I've already bought, and I think I'm more afraid of pushing them aside for that "new" that I also want, than I am of missing out on something I don't have. And even though I "never" have more than 2 WIPs, I decided to pick one I'd bought back in the beginning and just add it as a 3rd WIP. Since the other two are squares and this one is a round, it's become a nice change of pace. I'm savoring the next moment of buying, but also I'm savoring making the stash I've bought, and looking forward to the next one I start. I love following your stash count program. It's making each piece very special, even if it's very hard to choose.
Ah thanks so much. Well you are already way ahead of the game, because you started to think about your purchases at the beginning of your diamond painting journey. That part took most of us at least a year...so that's a HUGE win. Enjoy your diamond paintings and yes adding a round to the mix is a good decision I think.
@@LisetteCraftsandTells I thought about it early TOTALLY thanks to you, Lisette. I had you showing me the way, including how to manage my stash. I knew from you to watch out for what FOMO will do to my poor brain, as well as how I just sometimes want to "reward" myself with something new. And making me feel I need to hold myself accountable or this will get out of hand. And I see something now I never saw before your Stash Detox-lots of RUclipsrs saying they're on a no-buy program, or month, or whatever. You have done all the hard work of showing us the way. 😊
Great idea to help with impulsive buys! I will definitely try that when needed. I also really like how you log everything. Great way to practice accountability. Thanks for sharing!
I have not bought any new diamond paintings in two months. I have set myself a limit of 10 diamond paintings in my stash and I have 11 now so I'm determined to not buy any new ones for a while. Looking at your stash is a great way to resist buying more, I sometimes do that too. ☺️
Hi Lisette. Congrats on staying strong. I too didn’t buy anything at all this weekend or for the last two weeks (well, since your last video when I told you I did buy the Randal Spangler Draggin in the Morning). I also finished my Chuck Pinson in time for the end of the Chuckalong!! Yay!! Good idea to pull out from my stash and just kit something up. That’s brilliant. Thanks. ❤❤
Hi! I do have a win or wins! I have a little 2-1/2 year old grandson & I'm helping finacially pay for his pre-school which he loves. Also, I have decided since I do have a large stash that I would like to finish some of the paintings I have. When I have the urge to shop I shop from my stash. I'm currently working on a large Chuck Pinson Fly Fishing Legacy that is very confetti heavy so it's taking me some time. I'm working on it slow and steady amd really enjoying the process of diamond painting. So that's my win. I really appreciate this video. Very useful & wise advice. Have a great week!🎃
Thanks for the info. I did something similar when I was getting that feeling too. I just came back from vacation and had so many things to do that I was overwhelmed. I’m proceeding slowly but taking that break, to a new stash diamond painting helped get me back on track. It did help center me again. Great job Lissette. I hope you continue to enjoy. Peace and love abide with you 💕👍
I love this! I was just struggling with this, and i stopped myself! They had just come out last week with a Margaret Morales that i ended up getting, the one with the two dragons. Then, they came out with another Margarer Morales this week, the fomo with Diamond Art Club is real. But, i looked at my stash and then told myself i had to finish more of my wips and talked myself out of it. Nothing like buying a new canvas, but seriously, it's like an illness now for me. 😂
I loved your solution for this. I was doing well with not buying and the last couple of weeks I have had some backsliding. I think I bought 7 kits in the last month. 😮 and I finished 2…so that’s not a good ratio. I did finish one of my very oldest kits so I guess that is a bit of a win? So I was limiting my stash not by number but by storage containers. I bought four of these vertical laundry totes and told myself that my stash needed to fit inside. Well…the problem was that they hold more than I expected and actually have more room so I guess I should have looked at that first!
I love you stash system!! Also, I want to try to do a log book system like yours it's great. I have cut way back on purchases, but I just need to keep trying to resist. I'm gonna try your advice. Thanks!!
I have not bought a diamond painting in several months. I am trying to work through my stash. I told my self there is a particular style of diamond painting want (steampunk). I have yet to see a canvas I like (phew). Also I am not big on Halloween so most canvases lately are geared to that event (again I'm safe lol) Cost is another factor, I am holding on to my purse strings waiting for black Friday, hoping that also does not ruin me lol. When I get a moment of FOMO or need some retail therapy I look through my stash and see what i have that I could work on. Currently I have 3 WIPS I'm working on and i WIP on the back burner. I am looking but to wee what comes out but I resisted the temptation from Cara the principal painter( Holiday mermaid). I put it in my cart left the site, came back, left again and then came back again and took it out lol. It is hard to resist but I know for me....I have to. Have a wonderful week and I'll see next Sunday!
Yes, you totally understand the temptation. Loved the story of putting it into your cart and leaving the site, getting back and leaving again...And eventually you didn't cave...good for you. That must have been a hard one. Stay awesome.
Hey Lisette.. Love the Halloween kit you got there 🥰❤ I had my birthday here in September and got the 20% discount code from DAC, so I got 2 new diamond paintings.. I did finish one in September and is almost halfway on my current project, so I do get some finishes in too. I am waiting for my Jaded Gem Shop kit and really hopes it will arrive before November, since I need it for the Mucha Mania event in November and December 💜
Hi dear Mia.Belated happy birthday!!!! I just saw the thumbnail of your Mucha - so I'll be checking out your unboxing. I hope you'll love working on your JGS as much as I am.
Currently I'm working on pink owl by dreamer designs! I'm definitely guilty of emotional buying as well, but I love your advice of kitting up something new to scratch the itch! I need to also give myself a limit. I don't even know how many are in my stash currently! 😂
Hi Lisette, I have no win. I resisted buying for a short time and then I give in 😅😅 I bought two new diamond paintings from Jaded Gem Shop this week. I really love the confetti and the pictures are absolutely beautiful. I bought "Dream with Sirens" and an AI picture on the website (the artist who works with Jade will get a bonus from this 😁). Can't wait to get started on them in a month or two when they arrive 😂❤ Enjoy your beautiful projects 🥰
Congrats on not making any purchases in September! My plan was to hold out on buying until black Friday as well. However...I've been having too much fun in destash groups. I'm up to 20 in my stash, and 15 was supposed to be my limit. I have work to do!
Also, I like the idea of kitting up something new. I tend to just work on one at a time usually, so maybe that would help when I'm in the mood to buy a new one.
I've been shopping in my stash whenever I feel like buying something on my wishlist! There's been a lot that I do want, but I try to think about what I already have.
