My problem with The Doctor being The Timeless Child was that it made them intrinsically special. I much preferred the idea that all that made The Doctor special among the Timelords was their willingness to act. I always interpreted this theme that anyone can be a hero if they are willing to step up and take action, which was often reinforced by the extraordinary actions of their rather ordinary companions.

Exactly, and what you describe is actually good writing.
What they did with The Timeless Child is simply Mary Sue; The Doctor is amazing because they were born to be that, rather than growing as a character and becoming something more. The concept of "Hero By Birth" is amateur garbage by today's standards, and similar bad tropes are appearing throughout high-end/Hollywood productions.
Making The Doctor the timeless child is the very definition of "Hero By Birth" and it would've been far better to not touch the concept with a million kilometer pole.

    • @dandywaysofliving
      @dandywaysofliving Год назад +2

I'll always stick to the theory that the master is truly the timeless child and just tricked the doctor into believing he was it. I also believe if the doctor were related to the timeless child he'd be the person that discovered the master/timeless child
      .
Its one of those things where what we got can be reinterpritted as a lie by the master.
      .
From my perspective the show can say one thing but in the overall plot a head cannon fills the holes in better sometimes.
      .
Like maybe the master is after the doctor cause of the trauma they were put under by them and relearning that information made them spiteful so we got the current master.
      .
Then they force the doctor to experience what their lives were like and questioning who they are.
      .
The doctor being closet to the timeless child could imply they also have near infinite regenerations to some small degree but ultimately they just wanted to do good and the name doctor is a promise they made to the master to not let anyone suffer the way they did.
      .
Maybe the real name of the doctor is hidden because it reveals the past of the pain the inflicted on the timeless child.
      .
I think it adds more to the show even if it's not cannon but I hope one day maybe the concept is reworked.
      .
      Just sharing my tidbit

One reason why the reapers don't appear could also be because other changes weren't as drastic as that one. Saving her father would have led to Rose not becoming a literal god across all of time and space, and if any event deserves the description "fixed point in time", it would be that.

I remember thinking that clara was somebody that rose had created during her time as the bad wolf. I had this theory that because rose used the power of bad wolf to keep the doctor safe, she might have used it to create somebody for the doctor's future who would be the perfect companion and would save him time and time again. 😊

    • @LadyDoomsinger
      @LadyDoomsinger Год назад +17

Funny thing is, when I first saw the Bad Wolf episode, I thought the story was going in that direction; that Rose would be scattered across time and space, being written out of the story as a main character, and only reappearing as a guest star at key points in the Doctor's continued adventures. I was rather surprised that the Clara story turned out so similar to something I had myself imagined years before Clara was even introduced to the show.
On a separate note, I thought it was rather lame that both Rose and Clara were saved by the Doctor, as it made their "sacrifice" so much less impactful - and later episodes would have them sacrificed anyway, when they wrote them out of the story because the actors were ready to leave the show.

Rory was the Master under a chameleon arch. That was how Prisoner Zero - the Master in his morphant "snake" form per the telemovie - actually escaped, and this explains Rory's anachronistic 1990 badge. The real human Williams, never seen on screen, was an orderly in Grace Holloway's hospital in the 90s. All the multi-form stuff was just extra morphants. And this is how Rory can die and die again. And why River, the Master's daughter, is a Time Lady.
This is also the reason Eleven poked Rory in the head when they first met and said he has a "living but dormant mind". And, of course, the Master's Tardis, made invisible thanks to its working chameleon circuit, was parked on the duck pond - which is why there were no ducks there.

You know, I saw someone mention this in discussion of Classic Who - Romana was able to control the regeneration process when she chose to undergo it willingly, and... apparently the explanation for this was that she had "taken a class" once that *taught* her how to control her regeneration, down to picking the exact body.
This implies two things about regeneration as a process:
1.) It CAN be controlled if you know what you are doing, at least/ especially if you are actively choosing to do it
2.) You don't necessarily *know* how to control it, if you're relying on instinct alone. In fact, It's tricky enough to that a sophisticated Time Lady like Romana had to take a class to learn the technique(s) to do so, implying that it is of course *equally* if not *more* likely, that a given Time Lord *won't* know how to do this or could just mess up/ be flat out bad at it.
Considering that we get a lot of running jokes about how yes the Doctor is smart and capable but often not *quite* as smart and capable as they think they are, it would perfectly fitting and I think rather fun if all that were true, and it just so happens the Doctor is on average not good at controlling them. Especially since it's not exactly often the Doctor has a choice in the matter to begin with.

She's worked out that she's been experimented on for years and try's to run and hide, she steals a tardis that breaks when she lands in earth and hides it - Harnall will go on to steel that same one later as he doesn't know why but he has an instinct to run.
Ruth ultimately gets captured and gets her mind wiped and reset back to a child, and the timelords believe there 'Experiment' has worked - but Ruth leaves an impression in the subconscious resulting in the doctor again assuming the name of doctor.
It would explain why she doesn't recognise the screwdriver, why the tardis was broken and where she fits in the timeline.

Though this would fix a lot, including the continuity errors of The Five Doctors and The Two Doctors, it would also mean that the 11th Doctor was wrong when he claimed in The Time Of The Doctor that he regenerated into himself and kept the same face in Journey's End, which is rather an unpopular idea with some.

Always good to have a Clara theory running about, making her turn into Jenny at some point would have been interesting. Some have said she could have eventually become a Timelord herself, but since Gallifrey has been destroyed again by the Master doubt that will ever happen. Heard the one about the Timelords becoming Weeping Angels, that would be perverse but cool. Again, trying to explain more of the Angels backstory might put some fans off but it wouldn't surprise if something like that did happen to the Timelords, it would make them become even more villainous in the end than what they are now. The Master as the Timeless Child works better that way too. It explains his rage and wanting to destroy Gallifrey for what they did to him as opposed to him finding out it was the Doctor. Don't think we'll get any expansion or mention of that in the future either though with Davies now taking the helm, it'll just be ignored.

The metacrisis regeneration was also immediate and several onlookers were fine. 10 held in his regeneration to say goodbye to everyone and then exploded himself and the TARDIS. 11 was waiting to regenerate and did so as soon as he could, leaving Clara and the TARDIS in tact. 12 held it in for a whole episode and did a lot of damage to the TARDIS when he finally did regenerate. 13 also held it in, but she was smart enough to go outside this time so the TARDIS wasn't damaged.

One potential future flaw with the whole "Eye of Harmony means timecards meet in order..."
It's never actually said that Sacha's master comes AFTER Missy. It's assumed and there are some off the cuff comments about it being "presumably" true but it's not a fact as far as I am aware. Given that Missy spends most of her incarnation trying to be friends with the Doctor it's arguably more plausible that she is the last incarnation because Sacha's level of hatred for the doctor is much closer to John Simm's version of The Master than it is to Missy...

Personally I think Sacha's version of the master comes after John simms. I think that after he was sent back to gallifrey with the rest of the time lords during the end of time, he was granted new regenerations and that's when he discovered the truth about the doctor being the timeless child. Which made him go a bit more bonkers than he already was! I think missy comes after Sacha's master. 😊

There's plenty of space for Sacha's master. The Master got a new regeneration cycle in The Deadly Assassin, and The Five Doctors (and whatever the resurrection in The End of Time was) - that makes at least 36 regenerations, and we've only seen 7 different versions.
Despite the assertions that the Doctor only encounters Time Lords in chronological order, there isn't anything to stop Sacha's Master being anywhere from the timeline.

My theory with the more bombastic regenerations in the modern era has to do with the way the 8th Doctor regenerated. With the help of the Sisterhood of Karn. Considering the Doctor was dead and had been temporarily revived by them his body was already in a bad state. Add on top of that their method of forcing a regeneration (even if it's a guided one), this could explain why the regenerations are more dramatic for the Doctor now.

  • @chasejohnson5644
    @chasejohnson5644 Год назад +6

    10. This could very well be true.
    9. Don't like this one that much. 'Clara is really someone else' theories would just throw away her character. I admit I had my own during Season 8 that Clara was Susan, given that Missy (the Master) had apparently led her to the Doctor, Clara somehow survived going inside the Doctor's timestream, and whenever she was asked about the woman in the shop she always irritatingly responded with the exact same 7 words as if she were brainwashed, or perhaps Chameleon-Arched. Maybe Missy had led Susan out of the Time War to use her as leverage against the Doctor. But I let that go, and it's honestly a really bad theory. Not the smallest problem being Clara kissed the Doctor in the Snowmen. You'd get the same problem with this Jenny theory here.
    8. So?
    7. Yeah, they probably should have been there in the Wedding of River Song.
    6. That's just a plothole that you have to accept with Doctor Who, because it doesn't just apply to Time Lords. It also happens with Jack Harkness, Daleks, Cybermen, Davros, Zygons, all the rest of the aliens in Pandorica Opens at least, various elements of the myth arc (Season 2 kept running into Torchwood, Season 4 kept referencing planets being lost no matter where in time, Season 8 kept referencing the Promised Land at different points in time), even the visits with New Earth happen in chronological order. You just have to forget about it, it's how Doctor Who rolls.
    5. Ehh... the Master being the Timeless Child is a slight improvement, but getting rid of the Timeless Child altogether would be MUCH better. Also, the Master doesn't keep on coming back with new bodies because he keeps on regenerating, it's because he ran out of regenerations and is clever enough to keep finding ways to steal a new body. That's what happened with Tremas and Eric Roberts, then he was finally given a new cycle for the Time War, and after Missy was killed, the Master went back to stealing O's body, then the Doctor's. So, the Master's long-running story is not about infinite regenerations, it's the very opposite. I guess if he were the Timeless Child it would be a very cruel irony for him that the one was supposed to live forever is the one who has to fight the hardest to keep on living because the Time Lords took that away from him. Still, the Timeless Child not only throws off everything we know about the Doctor, it retcons Gallifreyan history. Even after Flux there are a few ways I think to more fully erase the Timeless Child, and I would not settle for just swapping it to the Master.
    4. That could be true too.
    3. I don't go for this one. I think the much more obvious and visible explanation is that the longer a Time Lord holds in a regeneration, the more violent it is. 10 and 12 were the ones resisting for so long, and they are the only ones so far who have blown up the TARDIS as a result. 11 you could argue was breaking in a new cycle, but the regeneration itself was quick and harmless. The theory that later ones regenerate more explosively doesn't match up with so many other regenerations. Ten's regeneration that resulted in the Meta-Crisis Doctor wasn't violent and he let it happen just moments after it started. The Master was given a new cycle, so was around his 15th regeneration when Professor Yana became Harold Saxon, and his didn't blow up the TARDIS. If having a new cycle starts over the buildup, then that doesn't explain 11's and 12's having so much energy. Also, the General in Hell Bent was on his 10th, and it wasn't violent either. What do all of these non-violent regenerations have in common, those Time Lords weren't resisting for that long.
    2. The Peter Cushing movies do exist as movies within the show. We saw this in the Black Archive during the 50th Anniversary. I think having that there as an inside joke is much funnier and certainly less complicated than dragging a human or the Meta-Crisis Doctor back into things.
    1. Now this one I actually like and wish they'd make it come true. That's not what happens to a Time Lord when they die, that wouldn't make any sense, but you could very easily craft a backstory to make them fit together with another Time Lord experimenting or the like.

My own pet fan theory. The Doctor is able to steer the TARDIS successfully some time after the Daleks Masterplan. It could be argued he deliberately piloted the ship into the future of THE ARK to check on the welfare of his favourite race - humans. He successfully returns a companion (Dodo) back to her own time, which he was never able to do before. The first regeneration shakes him up a bit but he recovers the knack in order to return Ben and Polly to 1966 (on the date they left - hows that for accuracy). Afterwards, he gives the impression of settling outstanding loose ends - travelling to Telos to ensure the Cybermen aren't resurrected, returning the Holy Ghanta to Det-Sen, a return trip to Dulkis. For the most part, he's quite happy to aimlessly wander as he doesn't have companions in a hurry to return home. Remember when Jamie says the Doctor can't control the TARDIS in WAR GAMES, only for the War Lord to say "Don't talk rubbish. Of course he can steer it!" The Doctor's pleas he can't navigate it are a stalling tactic.

The Peter Cushing Doctor has a much easier explanation: He's The Doctor of an alternate reality. We already know that "our" Doctor is aware of another universe because he visited there: E-Space. (You know, the "parallel" universe from which Adric originated.) So why is it so inconceivable that the Cushing Doctor might just be The Doctor from yet another parallel, alternate reality? Consider this: Back in the late 1960s and early 1970s, there was a popular soap opera "Dark Shadows" that originally began as a basic Gothic-style soap opera and, in its second season, became the supernatural-driven, vampire-fronted horror soap we now remember. BUT, while the show was still on the air, creator Dan Curtis decided to "revamp" the series for a theatrical film, "House of Dark Shadows" which condensed much of the Barnabas Collins story into a single two-hour-ish feature film (a sort of sequel, "Night of Dark Shadows," was released after the series went off the air and sort of combined other elements of the show, especially the "parallel time" episodes where "alternate" versions of the main cast lived out different lives; Jonathan Frid, who played Barnabas, refused to appear in the originally planned sequel, "Curse of Dark Shadows," for fear of being typecast even though "House" ended with Barnabas presumably surviving his apparent demise).
Cushing's Doctor doesn't necessarily need to be woven into "mainstream" continuity. Let him stand as the only Doctor from that unnamed parallel/alternate reality. He's the Doctor from the "Cushingverse."

As far as the Reapers go I see everyone only address the fact that Rose saved Pete as being the cause of the paradox, but no one takes into account that not only did she save him, but was also observed doing so by her also time traveling past self (with 9). Had Rose saved Pete the first time round, yeah it would create a paradox, however not nearly as strong of one, and possibly something the Doctor could have smoothed over with Timelord magic resulting in no Reapers appearing. Other paradoxes can be lampshaded away by saying he did smooth them over with Timelord magic, and based on series traditions Time Lords themselves seem immune to the paradox of meeting your past self and interacting with your own timeline.

    Timeless child if they continue…
After the tardis dropped 13 falling to earth the tardis finds her way to gallifrey just as Ruth runs away from division, stealing the ship and hides on earth.
Once Ruth meets 13 and remembers her identity, puzzled with the existence of 13 the tardis keeps Ruth away from events, meaning 13 onwards is mistaken as the timeless child version.
The doctor over time loses their memory, eventually trapped on a planet without the tardis, regenerates into a child as planned by Rasoloin to restore time lord supremacy by rewriting timelord origin by using the doctors dna after granting 11 unknown amount of regeneration.
Ruth learns of her past lives from 1-current, meets what would be her parents in the rewritten universe (bel and Vindor)
Works with multi doctors to undo divisions work, ending their own life, giving the fob watch to bel and Vindor to continue the Doctors legacy in a new body (their kid) with a new set of 12 regenerations.
Rasiloin disguised as The grand serpent headed to earth after 12 kicked him off gallifrey, the flux led the Grand Serpent to find primitive Gallifrey via the doorway. (Bootstrap paradox, as he caused the flux in his future)
The master being alive is due to the rewritten universe, the Doctor being unaware of Missy and the masters suicide prior.
Within the rewritten universe the master grew up Alongside the timeless child version, haven not met Ruth due to her using the comedian arch following her final mission on Atropos. When the master found 13 he mistakes her as his doctor as the tardis 13 found on ghost monument comes after Ruth’s adventures, much older and broken, which leaves the doctor stranded to become the timeless child.
The tardis takes both versions of the Doctor where they need to be, Ruth recruits Jack after meeting 13, to warn her past self of the lone cyberman etc.
Atropos was designed to sustain both versions of the doctor's life to allow time to be rewritten.

    @4:14
Actually if you've taken Temporal Mechanics 101 as viewable via The Time Traveler's Companion (A book written for The Doctor Who Roleplaying Game and something I highly recommend for anyone interested in playing a Time Lord or simply interested in explanations of Temporal Phenomenon) it clearly explains this phenomenon which are called _Time Spurs._
_"A Time Spur develops when a paradox occurs
that is highly localised in nature and relatively
long term in effect, as would be the case with
preventing the death of a relatively unremarkable
man who, none-the-less, shares a major Causal
Nexus with the person saving them. The Spur
contains the paradox and prevents further
intrusion until it can either be resolved (by
clearing up the paradox) or slowly degraded
away by the natural forces of the universe (i.e.
    Reapers)._
_Time Spurs are a natural reaction of the
universe to minor containable paradoxes in
much the same way that a pimple is a reaction
to a specific clogged pore. As the area becomes
inflamed, the body’s natural defences work to
clean the area of all infection, which should
eventually be eliminated. In the case of a Time
Spur, the infection is the people in the localised
area and the anti-bodies are Reapers._
_The Time Spur cuts off the offending area,
creating a thin skin that separates it from the
rest of time, space and other dimensions,
including the pocket dimension of the TARDIS.
In the Vortex, this takes the form of a hardened
    extrusion that creates unexpected turbulence
(see Time Eddies on pg.60) around it and which
is largely impenetrable from the outside. As the
Spur is ‘cleaned,’ it will slowly decrease in size
until the regular flow of time is restored, but with
a few minor changes in the current. Alternately,
the paradox might be resolved, at which point
the Spur immediately ‘pops’ and time regains
its normal flow, but typically with a mild surface
scar which permanently raises the RTD (see Relative Temporal Disturbance under The Blinovitch Limitation Effect section of pg.51) level in
    that area._
So effectively a Time Spur and the resulting Reapers are caused whenever a Paradox is created that significantly effects the personal timeline of someone linked to a major Temporal Nexus Point (AKA a Fixed Point in Time). In the episode in question we see a number of paradoxes and temporal disturbances which cause multiple "infected" wounds in a highly localised and focused area of Space-Time and revolving around a woman who would go on to do something unseen in all of Time Lord history. Because without Rose's dad dying her timeline would have likely never intersected with the Doctor which means her and The Doctor would never have been there in the first place to save her dad (Paradox #1), she would have never become Bad Wolf (Paradox #2), Jack Harkness would have never become Immortal (Paradox #3), he would have never helped Thirteen escape prison (#4), which would have meant she never stopped The Flux (#5), and so on and so on.
Time isn't a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey whimey stuff. It's a mad house of playing cards where some cards are super glued into place, some are made of tungsten-alloys, and others, if nudged the wrong way, could bring the whole damned thing tumbling over.

  • @SmartAlec86

Perhaps the Reapers issue has to do with what kind of paradox it is. Not all paradoxes are the same. For example, the Bootstrap Parodox is complicated because it causes a causality loop (a form of an infinite regress). Simply put, "X exists because X exists". Personally, I think an infinite regress causality loop is complicated, but not impossible. In Father's Day, the paradox in question actually had nothing to do with saving her father. That resulted in a Grandfather Paradox, meaning that there were two simultaneous paradoxes. And it could be the fact that there were two simultaneous paradoxes at once. The second paradox was a second Grandfather Parodox, where Rose and the Doctor witnessed Rose save her father when the Rose that saved her father never witnessed that event. In fact, that paradox was never dealt with, since the version or Rose that continued to exist shouldn't be exist. I think it was partially alieviated when the Doctor sacrificed himself in order to stop the Reapers. He likely returned not because those who were taken were brought back (which is likely what did happen), it's he's the version of the Doctor that was erased from existence because of the paradox. This also may have been possible because of what he was planning to do with the Tardis. In fact, he was probably going to sacrifice himself from the beginning. By erasing himself, the version that was previously erased was able to come back. And thanks to wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff, he knew what happened to the Doctor that sacrificed himself. This could also explain why Rose can't stay in that reality after she had to go to the alternate reality. It's not just because of the Tardis having trouble, It's because Rose was still a paradox in the universe. She is a scar left after a paradox had healed.
The Master is the Timeless Child... Did you come across one of my theories, or am I not the only one who thinks this? Though personally, I think that both the Doctor AND the Master are the Timeless Child. This is because of the episode name being The Timeless Children (plural). I mean... I get that that can be interpreted as regeneration. But my idea also works. That could also better explain Ruth. Despite identifying as The Doctor, she is a bit more (if you'll pardon the pun) ruthless. It can also explain why the Doctor and the Master coexist as counterparts.

It made much more sense that the Master would be the true timeless child rather than the Doctor. The constant forced generations from all the testing could have created a schism in their mind which is why they are so insane compared to the Doctor and other Time Lords. It would also make sense why Rassilon put the drumming in the Master's head instead of the Doctor's as he knew the Master could never truly die as he was the timeless child. The Master has also already had way more regenerations by the time the timeless child storyline had come around, somewhere around 18-20 regenerations. If the Doctor was the timeless child then why would Clara have to ask the Time Lords to give him more regenerations in “The Time of the Doctor”? If they didn’t give him the regenerations, then he would have died on Trenzalore and the Tardis would be his tomb as shown in “The Name of the Doctor”.
The Master trying to make the Doctor believe they were the timeless child could have been presented as a ploy, thinking that showing how the Time Lords used and abused the Doctor that she would become angry or hateful towards the Time Lords and join the Master. Unfortunately Flux happened and Chibnal used Tecteun to enforce that the Doctor is the timeless child.

Who knows, maybe she is actually the one that was tested on and use for the timelord templet. And now that I think about it, I know that in the old shows the doctor had a grandchild (and obviously as result a child(ren)) how would their DNA differ from regular Timelords and would they need the gene slicing for regenerations to occur?

    • @variant6478
      @variant6478 Год назад

since the timeless child is of its own species then jenny would also be a timeless child. though im not sure if she would count as a clone because of how she was made, she was made more like a real child where the doctors dna was used to make 2 different gametes which were then grown as normal but incredibly sped up, while a clone is grown without the fusion of 2 different gametes and would probably look identical to that incarnation of the doctor
with jenny having been the one tested on, i doubt it mostly because we know the timeless child was found as a child and jenny is at least physically not a child, even assuming she regenerated it would be a pretty out of place to have a character regenerate all the way back to a child just to fall through a time portal and ending up being found by the Gallifreyans/shobogans.
on the gene splicing point it depends on how you believe the doctor got the ability to regenerate the most obvious is if its just part of the doctors species then the doctors children would also have the same inborn abilities. there is also the possibility that it is not inborn into the doctors species but was gained by the doctor going through the wormhole they were initially found under, or even events leading up to that, in which case the doctors children would still be of the same species but perhaps without the same abilities

So, the Master as the tortured Timeless Child makes way more sense. Although the Doctor as the first successful "new" Time Lord ... thus, not limited the way we've always been told. I do really like the theory of the Master being the Timeless Child, and I think he conned the 13th Doctor into thinking she was just so she could dig more on the TC for him. Plus there's that entire subplot of him not wanting to be himself in The Power of the Doctor.
Yet in this theory the Doctor cannot be the first of the new Time Lords. This is because the Doctor grew up about a billion years after Time Lord civilisation was founded.

I got one Doctor Who theorie, don't know if it's even good, because I came up this one myself, but hear me out :
Doctor Von Brown, from Back To the Future, is actually a Doctor, an unseen version of them. A Doctor that maybe was banished, and convert into a human using the conversion device we saw once upon a time in the TARDIS, used by 10. And he was placed on Earth, during the 50's, with implanted memories. But here's the thing : he became obsessed with time travel, and stumble upon the idea of the time convector. Later on, we see him having a companion, Mac Fly. Seems to be logical from a Doctor point of view, like an unconscious thing for him to have a companion.
And then of course, he's succeding in doing time travel, and the events of Back To The Future are unfolding.
In the end, after the events of the third movie, he get to have a life with his wife and their children, aboard his time traveling train. Decades pass, Von Brown don't age that much, he witness the death of his wife, and his kids, and one day, stumble upon some clues concerning his identity (because he don't know why he's aging so slowly, I don't know, maybe the rejuvinating effects he got in 2015 had some weird effects on him, or just the Time Lord into human conversion was not 100% complete), investigate, find a mysterious pocket watch calling him, and all of his memories got to him. The Doctor is back.
This Doctor/Von Brown could work, but where in the timeline could it be ? Just after the Division ? Or a very late Doctor, way after 14th ?
In any case, I find this theory kind of nice, tell me what you think :)

Obviously, you've not done your research:
    9. Jenny's survival in The Doctor's Daughter was due to the Source that terraformed Messaline, and she has appeared in offscreen stories (including a comic where she met the Twelfth Doctor). Besides, we've seen Clara as a child.
    6. There have been some offscreen stories where the Doctor and the Master have met each other out of order (the Seventh Doctor once encountered an audio incarnation of the Master before Roger Delgado that was played by James Dreyfus - A.K.A. John Harrison in the final The Sarah Jane Adventures story The Man Who Never Was - and had encountered the First and Second Doctors, while the Tenth Doctor encountered the War Master). The Sixth Doctor and Peri also met an incarnation of the Rani following the one they encountered in The Mark of the Rani and whom the Seventh Doctor and Mel would face off against in Time and the Rani.
    5. I've heard people say that the Timeless Child should've been revealed to be Rassilon; he was immortal and was involved in the Time Lords' society being created - both just like the Timeless Child. Besides, the Master has been very close to death and even ran out of regenerations, both of which wouldn't have happened if he was the Timeless Child.
    4. Cushing himself once stated that he believed his portrayal of the Doctor was a future incarnation who had been kidnapped by the Celestial Toymaker (who ironically is thought to be slated to soon appear) and forced to live through previous stories of his. However, Twice Upon a Time's novelisation has canonised the films as being some that the First Doctor's companions Ian and Barbara had sold off.
Also, I always thought that the Doctor's explosive regenerations were due to how he was holding them back and the energy was building up in them. Nothing damaging happened during when the Ninth Doctor regenerated into the Tenth, or when the Eleventh changed into the Twelfth. Meanwhile, the Ten and Twelfth Doctor's regenerations (the latter of which was the first during the Doctor's second regeneration cycle) were explosive because they were holding them back when the Tenth Doctor said goodbye to his friends and during the Twelfth Doctor's fight against the Cybermen. And I think it has been confirmed that the Weeping Angels aren't deceased Time Lords. (I actually doubted the theory in the first place as the Weeping Angels are said to be as old as the universe, but I don't think the same could be said for the Time Lords.)

I think the reapers appearance is completely misunderstood. It wasn't just the fact that created a paradox by saving her father. She made two in a split second. She went back to be there with her father when he died, only to duck out at the last minute. Then she asked if they could try again. This time, however, she saved him.
This essentially took her timeline, tied a knot around the event, and cut it loose. The double break in the timeline, changing an event that you saw yourself not 5 minutes ago that triggered the reapers and even hollowed out the Tardis.

There's also the theory that the Doctor's regeneration isn't so violent when a companion is present. All the classic Who Doctors (except for 2-->3 off screen***) had companions with them for each regeneration. 9-->10 The regeneration explosion isn't strong/forceful enough to injure or kill Rose. 11-->12 the regeneration has no explosion at all. Wasn't Gallifrey and the Tardis's being in sync actually specifically stated in old Who?
If I recall, part of the reason older incarnations of the Doctor could be on Gallifrey at the same time was use of the Scoop- which was able to bypass this restriction, but was unreliable hence Dr1 being stuck in a comms system and Dr4 not being able to be picked up at all.
    Anyway, for a fan theory...
The Wire was actually a renegade Time Lord in hiding.
All renegade TLs have a name in the form of 'The' (Doctor, Master, Rani, Meddling Monk, Corsair, etc), and Wire also has this. The Wire had specific knowledge of where to project herself in time and space to be able to gain enough energy to potentially restore herself- indicating the sort of knowledge and abilities Time Lords possess.
She says she was executed by 'her people', which expansion stories have stated to be the Hermethicans. However, she could have gone there post execution in Gallifrey in the same way she escaped Hermethica to go to Earth- meaning she has already consumed energy to regenerate her physical form at least once prior to meeting Dr10.

The issue I have with the "the Master is actually the Timeless Child" theory is, why on any planet ever would *the Master* allow the Doctor to believe that she was in any way superior to him? Why would he EVER pass up the chance to rub it in the Doctor's face? Lying to the Doctor about, say, being adopted? Sure, that tracks for him. But lying and letting the Doctor believe that she's actually this super special, untouchable, god-like creature that Created time lords as we know them? It places the Doctor on an astonishingly high pedestal and the Master would NEVER allow that. He would never let the Doctor think that they were so much Better, so much MORE than the Master.
I can see him *trying* to lie, before laughing in the Doctor's face and revealing the truth, which would hurt the Doctor almost as much, but to allow her to really believe that she's More than he is, that her existence Created his, he would never let her have that much perceived power over him, not even for a con.
