The God of Thunder has grown into one of the best characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s gone from the overly serious, Shakespearean-esque figure, to one that’s more comedic around the edges and has actually lost more than anyone in the MCU. Seriously, he lost Jane Foster, he lost Loki, he lost both his parents, half his people, his best friend, his eye and of course, his hammer. Mjolnir was such an important part to the God of Thunder’s identity that it’s strange seeing it destroyed by the evil villain Hela. But speaking of the hammer, the main question that we wanted to talk about today is ranking all of Thor’s weapons. Yes, he doesn’t have that many, buti it’s still so worth it! Like just how did The God of Thunder handle his Sakaar weapons? What’s the difference between the Ultimate version and the regular vision of his hammer? What’s Gungnir and why is it super important! And is it true that The God of Thunder had a weapon before his time with Mjolnir? What would that possibly be like? So many questions, so little time to answer it all!

Just mentioning: Gungnir was Odin's spear in Norse mythology, endowed with two spells - it always hit the target, and the target would always die. The one advantage Mjolnir had over Gungnir was that it would always return to the wielder's hand after being thrown.

@@cloudest2063 Not too bad for Odin. Since his mount, Sleipnir, was the fastest horse in creation, he could recover it quickly enough, I assume.
And anyway, Gungnir assured that the other side started the fight without their most precious (assumed) asset.
One must never discount decoys and other forms of misdirection.
@@cloudest2063 Yeah, but considering that only Thor could even lift mjolnir, much less use it, it's one use more than the hammer's.
Also, Odin rode Sleipnir, the fastest horse ever created. He could retrieve his spear quickly enough,
And finally, even if you consider Gungnir a single use weapon, it'll kill the enemy general or champion of the opposing forces at the beginning of the combat - huge advantage there.
Comic book Gungnir would return to Odin once thrown..

In actual Norse mythology, I believe Gungnir was one of the most op weapons. I wish Thor got to use Gungnir more to use it’s full potential.

Yes but the gauntlet was made by the same dwarf who made stormbreaker all he did was add some failsafe it's likely to be more powerful but also possible it was designed to be able to counter the infinity stones
The best Thor weapon moment is without a doubt when Stormbreaker was forged and Thor used it to channel his full power, conjure the bifrost, and send it out to save the other Avengers in Wakanda before calling it back to himself and calling out Thanos screaming for him to be brought and leaping into the sky only to crash down and defamate a mojority of Thanos’ army.
What ever weapon he has he is still the God of Thunder 😎

Thor, if we’re using Norse myths, is actually proficient in staff fighting as it was one of his weapons and his mythical backup if mjolnir got stolen and before it was created in the first place
mjolnir actually couldnt summon the bifron which is why thor was trying to call to heimdal in the start of ragnarok

Gungnir is more powerful than mjlnir it should be Above mjlnir but below storm breaker because gungnir is enchanted by Odin force by almost every generation of the odinson’s (thor, Odin etc) and if thor truly wooded and enchanted it with his Odin force it would become wayyy more op because you get more Odin force if you made more sacrifices. Odin may have sacrificed one eye but thir sacrificed both
Gandalf the White now owns that weapon. He is now the new keeper of Bifrost and the staff.

Crazy fact the destroyer armour is actually in one of the X-Men movies in 2014 and 2013 so my theory is X-Men send Thors first ever movie is kind of connected I don’t know if this is true
U seem to forget MCU stormbreaker can use the bifrost at will and in the 1st Thor movie Loki was using it to destroy yotinheim (I can't remember how to spell it) meaning the MCU stormbreaker even tho Thor wouldn't do this but with stormbreaker he's capable to destroy a planet with stormbreaker so it's definetly better than the comic stormbreaker

Lost his arm, best friend, happiness, control of his mind, all of his family, had to live for 50 years thawing and freezing to go on missions he could not control. He had to kill iron mans parents and then fight him and probably one of the worst parts. he remembered all the victims and had nightmares about them almost everynight
