I'm using this laptop since 2013.
And believe me, this laptop is so much upgradable.
Apart from the keyboard and the battery which had to be replaced. I've upgradable the ram, harddisk, and recently the processor from i3 to i7, and it is still serving me well.
Thanks to all these Lovely tutorials from lovely people who have shared online.
Hi, sorry for the late reply, and yes you are correct, this is a decent laptop that will last you for years if you take care of it, thanks for watching and commenting on here and happy holidays as well.
Thanks for sharing. I knew generally what to do but was really struggling to get the old hard drive free. Your camera angle helped me figure out where I could gently pry with a plastic tool to help slide it backwards safely. Switched to a Crucial 256Gb SSD for less than 40 dollars.
Hi, I am glad that my video helped you out, hopefully everything else went smoothly too, thanks for watching as well.
Thanks so much for helping me out! Quality tutorial.

@@Jonathan_Solomon Thank you very much for your support, have an awesome day
what is the reference of the hard disc ssd, thank you
SSD stands for solid state drive which means there is no moving parts inside unlike a hard disk drive where there is mechanical moving parts. SSD's are a lot faster then hard disk drives as well .. hope that helps
Thank you so much. This has saved me a lot of money.
Hi, I am glad that my video has helped you out, thanks for your input and have an awesome weekend too.
@@ReviewsandTech thanks, you too, buddy

nice bro,im using the same laptop,my charger was not working properly, can you send the link of buying charger in amazon
Hello, you can find the charger and HDD Amazon links in the description now, thanks for stopping and showing me some support. Have an awesome day.
Is the SSD upgrade same as the Mechanical HD? Is the SSD have same ports and connectors ?
Hello, excellent question. SSD drives are much faster then mechanical drives. I would highly recommend SSD since they have dropped in prices dramatically. The power port and the SATA port and connectors are the same on the SSD as well. I also recommend a good brand of SSD like Western Digital or Samsung so you don't have issues. Once you experience the power of SSD you will love it. Thanks for your input and Happy holidays too. Cheers
@@ReviewsandTech Thanks for the info.
I have one more question is theere any free tool available to clone my existing mechanical hard disk to SSD. The licensed windows comes preinstalled with my G580. And I want to continue with that in SSD. Will that work.?
@@rahultambe2894 I personally haven't cloned drives using software because of one reason which is that you might have to Repartition the new drive after you clone it. Not only that, but when you clone the old drive, that means all the junk that drive had is now on the new one. I would rather reinstall Windows from scratch so you enjoy your laptop like new all over again. What version of Windows do you have ? Beadies retail stores do sell drive cloners as well which aren't too expensive. Hope that helps
@@rahultambe2894 A cheap way to save all of your data like pics, videos and documents is to buy a flash drive, maybe 128gb or 256gb flash drive say for about $22 to save all of your goodies on it before removing the old drive to replace it....
Is the hard drive same has ssd
Hi, no this was a mechanical drive, although I would definitely install an SSD now since they have dropped in price, thanks for watching, take care now.
@@ReviewsandTech I will try to buy one but I am scared to damage my pc while doing that
@@s1eepy703 If you haven't done this before, make sure you can uninstall your old one before buying the new one, hope that helps..
@@ReviewsandTech thank you I will try and I will say if I did it right thank you 😊
@@s1eepy703 Sure no problem, also make sure that you have a copy of Windows before you install the new drive too, best of luck.
Good to know. Thanks for sharing.
I am glad you enjoyed it cheers
nice upload friend, keep on sharing, stay connected, have a great day!
Oh hey thanks a lot for showing me some love cheers to ya too
Sup man. Good video but I want to switch hdd with ssd and I don't know how to connect ssd. Can you do some video on it or help me please? Thank you
Hi, honestly I would go with SSD drive now and connecting an SSD drive is very similar to an HDD, it's the same connectors as an HDD. Thanks for stopping by and showing me some love, best of luck too!
@@ReviewsandTech Thank you so much
@@ZyXousekk You are welcome!
do you have any link where i can find SSD from Lenovo G580 ?
Hello, there is a link to a Kingston SSD drive in my description, that is a good brand from my knowledge, hope that helps and thanks for stopping by as well.
Awesome !!
Hi, thanks for stopping by and for your input too, have an awesome day.
I can't see you have changed to SSD.
Hi, sorry but I don't understand what you are asking me?
@@ReviewsandTech Did you changed hard disk?
This was a customers unit, so they didn't want to spend extra money on an SSD drive, so we decided to go with a mechanical hard drive.
