    FINALLY!!! I found ACTUAL dump and go slow cooker recipes without any extra steps! This is exactly what I was looking for!
    Other channels would tell me to brown the meat on the stove before adding it to the slow cooker or take something out to shred it only to add it back in.
    All I want to do is add everything and take it out 8 hours later.
    Based on these recipes, now I know what I can do to create my own personal recipes.

    This is the best slow cooker recipe video I have found so far. This is real whole food cooking. Nothing premade from a mix, box, or can. Using all that stuff isn't cooking from scratch, and this video proves that cooking from scratch doesn't have to be hard. This is healthy, delicious real food. Just what I was looking for.

    Thank you for sharing more meal prep that is low-key lazy! I think it will be getting easier for people to jump on the meal planning/prepping band wagon right now, b/c everyone is being even more conscious of their budget than before! Also, a tip for you from some who has also been meal prepping for years and is also a hard core believer! Have you ever tried rolling the tops of your bags to keep them open better and add a little more stability while you fill them? I am always thinking of mentioning that when I watch your vids. You roll the top out, and make like a "cuff", it helps keep the bag from getting in the bag or falling closed while you fill.

    Silly question - when I cook I always sweat my onions and sauté garlic before adding other ingredients. Is there a significant difference in taste by adding onion and garlic to the slow cooker raw vs already-cooked? Obviously raw is easiest.

    • @anti-ethniccleansing465
      @anti-ethniccleansing465 4 года назад +1

      I remember reading a comment just a bit ago actually on one of these types of videos where someone said that when they used raw onions in their crockpot that they definitely noticed a funny taste to it.
      The channel owner/chef said that they hadn’t noticed that personally themselves, but that if the commenter does, they might want to just sautée up some onions (and garlic if you wish) in advance and freeze them to use when needed.
      Just maybe divide the cooked onions into bags of a half of an onion per ziploc freezer bag or something so that you have an idea of how much is in each bag and can easily be accessible for different recipes.

    For anyone wondering about using the slow cooker setting on your instant pot, read your manual. The slow cooker setting on the model I have doesn't get as hot as my actual slow cooker so I have to add additional time and make sure it's adjusted to the hottest setting.

      Yes, my instant pot does NOT work as a slow cooker even with the special lid. After investigating I realized the heat from an instant pot comes from only the bottom whereas a slow cooker is around the sides too. IMO it's not even safe to use the IP as a crock pot (if you're doing meat anyway.) Found this out after making a chili and after 8 hours it was not cooked. I contacted instant pot but nonetheless. Beware!

      I haven't tried these in the instant pot, they can probably be done on the slow cook setting. I don't prefer the instant pot, I think it doesn't add the same flavor cooking it quickly. Lamb especially tastes good cooked for a longer time :)

    I wish you showed how much of each you put in, as I never cooked lentils in my crockpot before and don't know how much you used or how much liquid you used.

    My family doesn’t like lentils. Would navy beans give a similar flavor with the lamb?
    I have ground lamb that I could not figure out what to do with!

      Try red beans. It tastes nothing like lentils but I think it would taste good.
