- I've had a couple requests to do this song. Van Halen is truly one of the greatest rock bands of my generation and I've always looked up to Alex as a drummer. I loved working on this song.

WOW. Fully on point Fred. Entire kit sounds incredible to go with your phenomenal playing. Smooth transitions of this challenging track is more difficult than many think.
Thank you Vince! Agreed, the drum parts are a little tricky. AVH is a monster drummer. He and Eddie, both, have a distinct signature sound. I loved learning this one!
@@stickslinger96 absolutely agreed. It’s always amazes me how AVH gets “lost” when all-time great drummers are listed. He’s SO good at being himself (and fact that EVH is arguably the best ever at his craft) that he’s taken for granted. Yet simply listen to “Outta Love Again” drum track. Keep up GREAT work Fred. That's tight as can be Fred!!!! There is a generation of drummers that consider AVH royalty and I'm certainly one of 'em just like you. I think he's one of the most innovative cats of the era and to this day, anyone can take his work and listen to hear just how unique his approach is.

Fred, which ride cymbal are you playing on this video? I assume it’s a Sountone. Definitely has a Killer and perfect tone for this song. Hats sound great too. Well done sir
Hi Sean, thank you so much! Yes, all Soultone Cymbals. The ride is a 22” Explosion ride, almost identical to the Zildjian 22” Z heavy power ride, and the hats are 15” Custom Brilliant wave, very similar to the 15” Zildjian A custom master sound. Hope that helps!
