Garbage Trucks - Spring 2014

Here is Truck 372, a Freightiner FL-70 with a GS 3000 series body collecting recycling. Since this video, a brand new truck has taken over the route. Stay tuned for that. After is 546, one of the many Peterbilt / McNeilus Rear Loaders collecting garbage, I had a broken cart and some cans out to be thrown out that week. next is 3963, a Mack MR / McNeilus Rear Loader collecting Yard Waste. And finally is 443, the last Leach 2R2 collecting trash. Sorry for the occasional clicking in the background. The camera I used never really worked well for videos, thankfully it has since been replaced by a slightly better one.

how do they unload those recycle trucks anyway?

I am not entirely positive if this correct, but from what I have seen, there is a latch to open the bottom half closer to the tailgate (paper and cardboard side) there also is a separate latch to open the top half for larger containers, so I would imagine there is a third one that is accessible after dumping the paper section. Meaning they dump the truck, lower it, unlatch the other sections and dump again. I think. However they are finally beginning to phase these out over time, they just got a split body RL for recycling that. And over the past few years had gotten a mix of GS 5000's, 8000's, Labrie Top Selects, and a Heil Recycle 2000 I believe they have 8 of these throw trucks still in use.
