Captain Beyond was the band that Rod Evans (first lead singer for Deep Purple... his vocals are on the first three albums...) joined after leaving DP... he made two albums with the band... which also featured Lee Dorman (Bass) formerly of Iron Butterfly... Bobby Caldwell (Drums) formerly of Johnny Winter/Rick Derringer... and Larry "Rhino" Reinhardt (Guitar) formerly of Iron Butterfly...
Also, Rhino, guitar, Lee Dorman, bass, both from iron Butterfly and Bobby Caldwell, drummer for Johnny Winter.
Badass! That audience just got a dose of the most ass kicking LSD music ever recorded - what a freaking treat !
Excellent taste.
For the music nerds out there that count (because it can't be helped) this song starts in 5/4. It is a FUN song to play on drums. A good workout.
And the end bit is in 3/4.

No idea, honestly. All I know is the music director of this particular school has a very deep and wide knowledge of classic rock.

These guys are good but I don't get the blank look on most of the band members faces? It's almost like their programmed clones? Come on guys get into it show your God given human expression! Show us that you love Captain Beyond! I know I do! They have taught me a lot as to how I express my guitar playing today! I'm 66 years old and it's time ROCK~IT!!! ❤🙏🏻
