  • Now and then people tell me that drawing on the ipad isnt real drawing, and the ipad corrects everything for you.. well this video is for you :-)
    Anyone who wants to see how you can work on the iPad whiteout having the iPad correcting everything for you.. I’m not trying to convince anyone that the iPad is better if you’re doing all good with the pencil and paper, but I’d like to show just because my self and others are using the iPad, it’s hand drawing as well.. at least in my eyes.
    Yes I have the advantage of zooming in, not using a physical eraser messing up the paper and have unlimited undos.. anyway, this is what I do, and in my eyes it’s proper hand drawing and I could do it on normal paper as well, just spending a lot more time on it.
    Whatever way works better, do it! :-)
    I started a new scrollwork design this morning.. it’s a design I have in commission so I was thinking to record all the process anyway.. :-)
    Here is the start where I’m sketching out the idea.. Especially in the mornings my hands are pretty shaky.. anyway the first part is me drawing by hand in real time, then speeding up the video before a time lapse of sketching out the rest of the idea so I don’t get you too bored.. then back to real time again at the end.
    In the video I’m creating a new layer instead of using a light box tracing my own idea and sketch with better lines.. (at least I think so). My hands are a bit less shaky now, and I’m spending more time drawing it slow..
    If this is cheating and having the iPad correcting everything for me, we’ll then I’m all fine with that.. but I hope this video will clarify at least a little.
    It will take you about 6 minutes to watch the video.. a little less if you scroll forward.. :-)

    Awesome! If you ever do a tutorial video on ProCreate talking about settings, and I notice you're not wearing a glove, I have issues if I don't use one. Also how to size, so when you print if fits your object, etc. etc. I'd pay for a video like that. Thanks, for even this though. You do amazing work.

    Gran diseño, después de esto supongo que lo debes de imprimir para grabar la parte, me puedes decir cómo lo haces?

      There is several ways to transfer a design to the object, and not really a quick and good explanation as there is many things that can go wrong or to take care of.. but the method I use the most is make sure I have the design at the right size. I use Affinity Designer for this, then I flip the design horizontal and print it with a laser printer (note not all laser printers do work) on parchment paper. Then I use a mix of damar varnish and zippo gasoline on the object and wait till it´s almost dry and then burnish the design on the object. :-)

    How did you set the brush to a fine point

    • @engraverhand
      @engraverhand  9 месяцев назад +1

      On the left hand side (if you’re right handed) you will see two sliders.. the top one is the size of the brush/tip and the bottom one is the opacity.. which means more or less how strong your brush are. Normally when I draw I set it between 90% and 100% The size depends.. when you’re finished to draw and want to draw on top you can tap with two fingers on the layer and slide your pencil from right to left to put down opacity and then make a new layer and draw on top :-)
