1. No personal info like picture, specific address, religion, etc 2. No pronouns 3. Bullets point: problem - solution - result (number, statistic,...) 4. Read job description to match keywords
As a professional thats been out in the working world for a while, I can say that these are all amazing tips (and completely agree with the personal pronouns thing - it is actually one of my pet peeves)! Thank you so much for the video ❤️ Another great piece of advice a recruiter once gave me is that recruiters looking at resumes spend an average of 6 seconds on each, and thats for the ones that make it past the algorithms! Thats only 6 seconds to grab attention and make them keep reading... so they suggested adding a few bullets at the very top (below header section) in a ‘Summary of Qualifications’ section. You can put all major highlights in there (education, work, awards, etc). Also love your channel!
Girl you are a LIFE SAVER.. I’m so overwhelmed and crunched for time to land an internship, not knowing what to do, and this brought my confidence through the roof.
I do not have any relevant work experience, what should I actually do for this section? I am currently in junior year too. I'm so confused on what to actually write.
Wow.. I love you so much. I also want to get an internship at Google but I never really knew how to structure my resume. Thanks a lot on the tip and success in your career 😘
not even halfway through the video but I immediately subscribed!!! you are so full of life amd light 💛 I knew immediately that I won’t regret it. This has been very helpful and informative!! thank you for all that you do ❤️
hello Joi Wade, I clicked on the link to get a free resume guide, but I was directly to a hair sale journal. I even subscribed to the email service but I did receive the free guide.
Thanks for all the tips! Just wondering, what resume format did you personally use (2 column or regular). You've been able to land so many incredible jobs and hopefully, your videos will allow me to do the same!
This is great! I'd like to use it for my online community college class. We must follow the ADA laws for accessibility. The auto-generated captions are not sufficient. Would you please edit/correct the captions and ensure proper capitalization and punctuation so I can show this to my students?
What if u don't have any relevant experience? I want to apply for internships in public relations & advertising, but the only job I have had are "high school"/ kid jobs.
Try finding some volunteer work (even if its free). The experience will be worth noting on our resume. Also, you can try a mini start up for yourself or even draw out a PR or advertising plan of your own. It'll show that you have the mind for the job.
Great viddeo Extremely helpful for developers just starting out for a job I have a question please, I am a self-taught backend developer. I do not have any work experience. Is it OK to add the projects that I have done in the relevant experience section? If it is OK, just put the projects names and the technologies and describe what I did in each project ? or just put the projects names and the technologies
Showcase what the recruiter can't find in your resume - connect the dots between your experience and the role you are applying to if they are unrelated
I am so sorry but your video did not deliver the thumbnail picture content like NBC, google and all that...very disappointed to having to go through whole video expecting the X factor...
Let me review your resume! www.joiwade.com/services/resume
Can I email you about how much you would charge to make me a resume?
The fee guide link in the discription is a scam
I signed up to the the free guide but just got emailed adds for your ebooks

That time I was busy with canva
Thank you for this 😊❤️

It would be helpful showing some resume examples in the video instead of only talk about them.

I was told that you can use your class experiences and projects as experience
You lie. Most of us have told big lies to get the job. Just hope you’re smart enough to do it if you do get it
The link you posted leads for a sign up so i did and but never got the free guide just your news letter.
Thank you!!!!!

Hi Joi, do you provide resume services? If so, how much do you charge?
What about resume summary?
I went to the interview and it went well but I haven’t been notified if I got the job it’s been two week should I email them?
Juana Guzman could call them and ask about an application status
Definitely follow up weekly via email with your recruiter.
where would i put volunteer work?
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this
No problem! Any other video requests?
Would you add a profile section to the resume?
What are quick tips you could give on creating an objective that's not too general, or vague but not specific either.
They should be specific and show your impact. Show what the problem was what you did, what the result/impact was
Great video
Thanks!
Hi Joi. Did you design your resume when you applied to Google, or what is just plain black and white?
What about cover letters?
Showcase what the recruiter can't find in your resume - connect the dots between your experience and the role you are applying to if they are unrelated
Can you share the Google internship link
My average cgpa is 3.13 . Should I add it in my resume?
I am so sorry but your video did not deliver the thumbnail picture content like NBC, google and all that...very disappointed to having to go through whole video expecting the X factor...
I feel like this is common sense information that people should already know.
Do i need to pin my transcript in the resume, cause one of the qualification is : Completed or currently taking two or more CS courses, pls answer
I am not sure what company or role you are referring to. Direct all questions to a recruiter at the company for the most updated and accurate info
@@joiwade_ for Google STEP internship
Definitely reach out to their campus team for correct application practices :)
Thanks a million Cute Baby
Gurl, you spend time discussing why NOT to provide your full address and then you sample a resume with a full address🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
I noticed that too
What's the difference between a resume an a CV? Is one used to apply to a specific job and the other for any job opportunity in your field?
great resources if you type that into google!
This was so helpful, thank you so much!
Thank you so much this was so helpful
Great tips! Thanks.
