Angelina has studied so many great singers from the past, and she is able to pull little techniques from many of the legends of music when she sings. Because of this, she will often remind you of different artists. Then, one day (after you have heard all of Angelina' stuff), it will flip.... and then everyone else will remind you of Angelina. Only a lesser version of Angelina.... like some bit of magic is missing from them that she has. And I'm not talking about talent show singers. I'm talking legit, high level artists, that now seem to be missing some ingredient that this girl (that is still just 15 years old) has.
I am a Dad; every time I hear her sing, I feel a swell of pride!

For me, that happened many, many years ago. The only one I really compare her to, is Elvis Presley. Because he also discovered music that wasn't "natural" for him at a very young age, which gave him that unique style. As a Norwegian, I was lucky enough to discover her back in 2014. Heh, it's a really strange feeling, it's sort of like she's my daughter or something. I think that if I ever met her mother, I would thank her for taking such good care of my little girl. So bizarre :)
Speaking from an older person’s perspective, Angelina is so wholesome, special and unique that my parental instincts want to protect her from the seedy side of the entertainment industry and the wolves. I do pray to God to protect her because the world needs her personality and her exceptional talent.
Throw some Amy Winehouse in there too. The fact is Angelina is Angelina, the bare foot princes and the queen of contemporary jazz. Angelia travels in her own lane. She may sound like a combination of many of the current and past greats, but there is no one like Angelina. She is a bona fide musical genius.

Modern singers today do not have that deep, round, soulful tone that she has. It is a sound that used to be common back in the day of the jazz divas, but has been lost in today's performers. It is a sound that is really needed in music today. She is one of the most classy, and charismatic singers I have experienced. Her sound just pulls you in and gets you lost in the music. I love it.

Angelina's original songs reflects her life experiences. In one of her first Originals. " what is life " she writes what life means to her at age 11 and performs at at age 12. Amazing.
In" 7th Heaven", she writes how life is full of bitterness but never give up hope. Everything was going great for her, absolutely amazing performances on AGT, singing Fantastic cover songs, performing at jazz festivals and concerts around the world, and doing charity events. But then the covid virus hit and everything stopped. All of her concert were cancelled in 2020 and 2021, her recording studio was closed in New York. All she wanted to do was sing. Life became full of bitterness but you should never give up hope.

The fans who followed Angelina for a longer time know how humble, polite and mostly introvert she is when it comes to the way she performes. Never in your face! She is more inviting and captivating! She gently welcomes you into her world! But for sure she is dedicated and passionate! There is fire behind that calm appearance, and it's fun to watch how it starts to show in the look in her eyes and her movements! So exciting to watch her grow up and her talents get recognized!
Like your comment except for " mostly introvert". Introverted: “I don't buy that pseudo shrink's diagnosis who wrote a long analysis of Angelina.. "Introverted". You no doubt read that guy's viewpoint ( pseudo shrink). What is that dude's purpose? To encourage Angelina, or put doubts about herself in her mind? Where I grew up 'introvert" had a slightly negative connotation. Yeah, I know, it's not "supposed" to have any connotation.
In any case, here we have a very unique young child who found her life's love of "work" in singing. And she is very driven to be great at singing. That takes time, to hone your craft. She has school; homework, family time, meals and her singing and learning instruments, practice time. Doesn't leave much time for anything else. But we still see her with her friends sometimes too. I totally reject "introverted".
No need to "label" anyone in those areas. I think labeling, has the potential to make someone think "wrongly"" of themselves. Developing insecurities. Not needed. I am also not too big on psychotherapy anymore. I used to be. But after searching for any meaning to life - through Psychology ( Adler, Jung, etc. ) Existentialism, Buddhism, New Age, Eastern Meditation ( I was into the Beatles in the '60s), I read the Bible and became convinced along with Sir Isaac Newton; Michael Faraday, Blaise Pascal, etc.
it's better to look to help others versus getting overly psychoanalyticl and obsessive about ourselves. Psychoanalysis? Not for a normal, but uniquely gifted person like Angelina.

But I would like to take away the negative "load" on the word introvert here. I don't feel save going into that too deep since I'm not a native English speaker. I was not referring to her personality, but as I wrote, to the way she performs. Many times she closes her eyes as if she tries to connect to her emotions. Which is beautiful to me! I prefer that over the shouting "in-your-face"-way that many singers (and rappers) nowadays do. As if they are boxing and about to knock out some alleged opponent!
With this closing her eyes, combined with her humble way she presents herself at performances, the word introvert came to my mind. Not at all trying to give some psychoanalytic description. I wouldn't dare! But where I come from (the Netherlands) the word has no negative connotation at all. For me at least not. So I'm sorry if it disturbed you!
I believe the word stems from ancient Roman-Greek times and indeed was adopted in the psychiatric world. And than in a strange way those kind of words fall back into common daily language again. I can see that it might give a bad aftertaste if people use it as if they know it all, analyzing other people! That's certainly not my intention. Maybe you have a better word for what I tried to say?
And furthermore: I'm glad that the family of Angelina protects her well and that she can grow up as any other child as much as possible and that her personal life is not out in the open so much! 98% of the footage (which is only a couple of hours) is about her performing, so little do we know about herself, which is fine. That she must be a very nice person is obvious. And the barefoot story and sponsoring child care projects is extra special!

Listen to Song for A. It was written for her and I’ve never heard a more beautiful voice. The song shows how her voice is not always “jazzy.” So smooth and just glides into the next lyric. It’s mesmerizing.

You should listen to her cover of "I'm still holding out for you" she was 11. For a great of her own composition listen to "Shield" live. It's a great bluesy trip hop kind of song. It could be a James Bond theme song. It is a tribute to her mother.
One thing that sets her apart which I really like is that she needs no significant studio processing to get her 'sound', she is completely in control. Her raw voice is better than anything audio engineers can produce with effects.

How many 15 years old's have already written and recorded 5 original songs.? And I know that she has been writing songs during the pandemic shutdown, so there should be more to come. Bob Seger once told Glen Frey that you must have original songs to make it in the music industry. They don't have to be written by you (I don't think Elvis ever recorded a song that he wrote), but they do have to be released first by you; that's the definition of "original". He also told Glen that you might have to write 100 songs before you hit the "one" that is magic. So songwriting is as much about laboring as it is about finding magical inspiration. You have so much to discover about Angelina. She has been creating art with music since she was very young. First singing at 1 and a half I will always love you by Whitney Houston (later she covered I have nothing at 12), her love of Jazz and in particular of Billie Holiday (listening at Jazz music since 3-4 years old introduced by her grandma Mery Zemani who was a child prodigy as a painter as well), first performance in a studio at 6 singing I who have nothing (in school), her story with the child she encountered in the street in the Middle East and gave her her shoes (she tell the story in a book that she published at 9 years old, and in an interview that you can see in RUclips) so she performs always barefoot to remember that there are unfortunate kids in the world who need help, she won NGT with 7 years old singing old soul music, she made a lot of covers that feel better than the originals, she arranges the songs she sings since she was a child like I put a spell on you, with so much taste and artistry. Quincy Jones invited her to sing Flying to the moon in London at his 85 anniversary with a big orchestra and the original arrangement he made for Frank Sinatra (there is a rehearsal you can see in RUclips) and it seems he said she was the purest talent he knows since Michael Jackson. Nico Cartosio composed Song for A (the lyrics are from a poem of the 18th century) to be sang by Angelina and be the unique sung piece in his opus Melting (and she did it fantastically). She is a musical genius.
from when I first heard her I always felt a strong jazz connection or maybe it's me being my first gig was in a jazz club in the French Quarter but to me jazz had so many artistic paths and she seems to have graced them all in the most outstanding way I have ever heard. Asia embrace the tears her singing gives you, that is a beautiful connection.

She only has about 5 original songs recorded: This one is the most recent, then Million Miles, then Shield, then Oslo, then What is Life. She wrote the last one at age11 and recorded it when she was 12. It’s one of my favorites. Beautiful in its simplicity. Million Miles is about her grandfather who had recently died when she wrote it. Be sure to check them all out! Good job-love your appreciation for our Angel!
I hope Angelina's talent is so great that the majority of people will listen to her positive inspirational songs instead of all the songs which are just the opposite.
I read a really important insight about this song. That little girl she met and gave her shoes to is often on her mind. Think of her in this song. That influence is there. Angelina is a very special person and very cognizant of the world around her.

For some reason when people listen to Angelina they hear traces of their favorite singers in her voice. Most commonly it's Amy Winehouse, I often hear Norah Jones, people familiar with the old jazz artists hear Billie Holliday, Dianna Washington, lla Fitzgerald, I think when she learns a cover, she learns how the original artist made their sound and then she keeps it in her toolbox and uses it when it fits what she is doing with a song. I'd like to hear her cover Anita Baker and keep that sound.

This is an original song by Angelina. Believe me this girl is not fooling around. She once said she wanted to put out meaningful music and lyrics and that's exactly what's she's doing. Instead of going on the mainstream "easy" way, she is choosing her own way with jazzy melodies and powerful messages.
