A Silent Voice - Koe No Katachi (Piano Tribute)

  • Sheet music archive: tim-reichert.c... If you use this track in a video then please credit me and put a link to this video in the description! Otherwise I'ma come over to your house and play a terrible titanic cover 24/7 on my recorder flute. (But seriously, don't forget to credit)
    I have the habit of improvising or composing whenever I finish a great anime or movie, as I'm usually struck by inspiration, and this was no exception. This is mostly an improvisation but I prepared a vague frame when I tried to figure out what scale to improvise in before I started recording. The beginning for example is a hint to Kimi no Na wa. This was also made in ~3 hours kind of as to prepare myself for the coming exam where I have to make a piece about a certain theme in that time.
    Oh man, this movie. I actually enjoyed it more than Kimi no Na wa (pls don't kill), even though the music wasn't as good in my opinion. I guess the thing is that anime or movies that are about bullying get to me the most. Makes me wish bullying wasn't a thing. I hope that there are people out there in real life that are willing to help and befriend people that are being bullied without having to fear to get bullied themselves. I was literally at the edge of my seat, gripping my pillow when Nishimiya was about to commit suicide. I wonder if I should read the manga since it kinda seemed to me that some characters, especially the red haired guy, didn't get enough screen time and almost seemed irrelevant. I also wasn't able to figure out whether or not Shouya and Ueno were actually friends or whatever their relationship was back in grade school.
    "You have to learn to love even the things you hate about yourself and move forward."

    MIDI download: www.mediafire.c...
    Please don't upload your own MIDI visualization of this piece with for example but not limited to synthesia. That'd make me really sad ;_; If you want to spread it around then just link to this video

    Am I the only one who cried when I heard this beautiful piano music? The best and the most remarkable anime in my life. Same goes with Kimi No Na Wa but still, I love this story more. I learned about life.

    I listened to this song for the first time about 2 hours ago. It was on a potery video on Facebook. The mix of the two made me extremely relaxed. Then I started searching for the song in the comment thinking it was probably a debussy song or whatever GREAT composer out there. Nothing. I started panicking. The more I was listening to it, the more I wanted to find it so much it was moving me! All I was getting from the comments were terrible English translation of Japanese comments that obviously didn't give me the right answer. Spotify AND youtube only showed me "lit" from the movie... but that's not what I wanted. Then, searching with the right set of words I FINALLY found the full soundtrack of the movie. Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh the song I've been searching all over the internet for! Finally!
    And now, you mean to tell me that I won't have to do anything crazy to get the sheets?!
    This is like heaven on earth.
    And you are God. Well a human version of Him.
    THANK YOU! I will gladly learn it and do a video of it. I swear I'll praise you on that video! You're a wonderful composer.

      Thank you for your kind words!
      It's really a bummer that they didn't credit me, making it hard for people to find out where the piece is from ;_; I should probably put a disclaimer at the top of the video to make sure that people credit me in the future. Let me know when you've made the video, I'd love to see it!

    I relate to this movie not because I was bullied myself, but because *I* was the bully. Every time I listen to the soundtrack of this movie or see the movie itself again I begin to cry because I know the exact feeling of dread and guilt Shoya feels...It fucking sucks

    Don't worry, I like it better then kimi no nawa too, but it was sooooo close becuase kimi no nawa had a really unique concept but A silent voice was great at storytelling and actually making you give a reaction instead of just making you sit there (not saying your name didn't). Not only that, it had a realistic story which I'm not saying makes it better, but makes it more relatable then kimi no nawa, which, when I saw, instead of relating to it I just wished it happened to me because it had such a great concept whereas I could relate to a silent voice because bullying is, and will be, something that happens to everyone, some people might not even know they're being bullied, they just think it's just a bit of fun even if they don't like it but it is bullying. That's sort of what happened to Nishimiya, she thought she did something wrong to them when in reality she didn't do anything it was all them.

    • @FulminisIctus
      @FulminisIctus  7 лет назад +10

      I'm glad that someone thinks the same! So true. I could relate to the characters in Koe no Katachi way more than to the ones in Kimi no Na wa. Too bad that they couldn't get in too deep into the minor characters since they seemed very interesting, but you're unfortunately more restricted time wise when making a film than a series. That's the reason why I'll definitely read the manga

    • @ArieofEnder
      @ArieofEnder 7 лет назад +3

      I have to agree with like everything you said, but another thing I like about Koe no Katachi is how it's all realistic and it doesn't feel like it's trying to force romance down your throat. (Not everything has to end in romance.) So many anime series/movies/manga I've watched/read always seem to have a sudden jump in plot almost to where they ditch everything for the romance sub-plot. Romance is sweet, but not when it's turning what would have been, let's say a comedy, to a completely serious romance filled story.
      That, and its easier to relate to as it deals with every day scenarios. Whereas Kimi no Na Wa is beautiful, it involves supernatural(?) themes which if real, 99% of the population viewing it wouldn't be able to experience it themselves.
      I feel like I've repeated stuff you've already said but -shrug-

    • @shiz525
      @shiz525 7 лет назад +2

      ArieofEnder Yeah I agree with your other point as well, although there were some bits where I thought hugging would've been the perfect thing to do but yeah I like how didn't ditch all the other themes and didn't go full romance.

    • @FulminisIctus
      @FulminisIctus  7 лет назад +2

      I heard that there is actually way more romance in the manga, read original source, but they decided to cut those parts from the movie because of movie time reasons and to concentrate more on the drama aspects of the story. Don't really have an opinion on whether that was a good thing or not as I haven't read the manga yet, but I wanted to throw that out there
      ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Not many AWESOME composers are well known, this being one of them. If more people discover this video, this Composer who made this music will definitely be popular. Now, I’m trying my best to play this song on my own piano. I found out how hard it was, but I discovered the concept and style this music provided.

      I believe you mean One Summer's Day, right? I'd honestly recommend listening to everything by Joe Hisaishi, he's one of my favorite composers and has inspired my compositions a ton! Though I'd say most people will find that parts of this sound familiar because the right hand riff at the beginning sounds similar to the one in Sparkle from Kimi no na Wa

    im like 3 years late but yes read the manga. the movie was beautiful and made the story compact to fit a movie length and it was very well done even if aspects were cut out. the manga storyline was ever so slightly different and done in a way that fits a chapter by chapter basis. the movie hits hard tho emotionally but the manga rounds out better story and character wise since it explains more
