hi i know this is late, loved loved your video, even though not for my car...one wire fix is to tie a strong long piece of twine to sam (plug) end....pull thru front, take off twine (tie something i use a wrench to the end to keep it from mistakenly pulling out) then tie it back on and pull back thru when reinstalling.

Your results look pretty good! For next time, use a 1/8 inch foam backed headliner material. It should help decrease the possibility of wrinkles in the contoured areas.

Great video Max, very well explained. I think once you finish perfecting your CLK the Mercedes museum will probably buy it haha. It's looking mint! My 2003 CLK320 still needs a few jobs to make it 'excellent', so I appreciate your in-depth videos.

Thanks for the video. Very detailed in the removal process. Better results would have been obtained if you sprayed the material and headliner and let it sit giving them time to become tacky before mating the two surfaces.

How did you install the sunroof grilles? I bought a new one, but I'm having difficulty applying it

I had to use a mini grinder to cut the backing plastic of the grills of the shade at one side to remove them.

Hello my friends, Mercedes like most of the other cars has this issue that the fabric for the headliner separates after some years and it sags, in this video I share with you my experience of removal and restoration of my W209 CLK Mercedes, this can set you back thousands of dollars if done professionally at a shop or at a dealer. Please feel free to skip the first part if you know how to remove the different components from headliner. Please let me know in the comment section your experience and love to hear your feedback.

I have same car 2008 CLK 550 AMG coupe and just noticed headliner beginning to fall down in the rear. I also have a 1997 2dr Chevy Tahoe that had the same headliner issue which I fixed myself. I removed the headliner from the vehicle, took the fabric off the headliner and cleaned it as you demonstrated. But I did not go back with fabric. Instead with a paint roller I painted the headliner with two coats of over textured deck paint. It looks fantastic better than new and will never have to do it again. After watching your video seeing the W209 headliner is also fiberglass I believe I will use the same paint method as I did on my truck. What will differently is attempt to better smooth the interior surface of the headliner before painting it. Like others have said reinstall video would be helpful particularly the wiring reconnection.
