Another great video, just the right amount of info to help another antipodean CLK owner, I appreciate your style, commitment, and enthusiasm. Chur bro from NZ 🙂
Thanks Rob, enjoy your CLK and Merry Christmas 🎅
hi i know this is late, loved loved your video, even though not for my car...one wire fix is to tie a strong long piece of twine to sam (plug) end....pull thru front, take off twine (tie something i use a wrench to the end to keep it from mistakenly pulling out) then tie it back on and pull back thru when reinstalling.
Great thanks for the advice 👍
Great job Max .
Not many people are determined enough to attempt this DIY.
Very useful information here.
Thanks Leonardo, it is difficult and time consuming buy the results is very satisfying especially when you DIY it 😀
Great! Thank you for taking time and making the video.
You are welcome:)
no reasons for excuses ! - the result is great !
Thanks Oliver 😉
Good job mate, cheers Graham
Thank you.
Great job thanks for sharing!!.
Thanks mate :)
Your results look pretty good! For next time, use a 1/8 inch foam backed headliner material. It should help decrease the possibility of wrinkles in the contoured areas.
Thank you.
Great video Max, very well explained. I think once you finish perfecting your CLK the Mercedes museum will probably buy it haha. It's looking mint! My 2003 CLK320 still needs a few jobs to make it 'excellent', so I appreciate your in-depth videos.
Thanks Serge 😊 I am sure you will do your projects soon.
سلام خیلی زحمت کشیدید موفق باشید
@Fatemehmohammadijavid-hh1ce Thank you Vaji Jan 😀
Thanks for the video. Very detailed in the removal process. Better results would have been obtained if you sprayed the material and headliner and let it sit giving them time to become tacky before mating the two surfaces.
Thanks mate 👍
Very god video as usual my friend. Have a nice day in Australia... My favo land 👋👋👌👌
Thanks Patrick 😊

How did you install the sunroof grilles? I bought a new one, but I'm having difficulty applying it
I had to use a mini grinder to cut the backing plastic of the grills of the shade at one side to remove them.
THANK YOU!!! I have been waiting 2 years for a video because I have been having trouble with clips not moving and I wanted to make sure I am safe to pull harder and not scared to break it . Where did you get you material and what is the color name I have the same and been trying to find a perfect match for color and pattern .
No worries, just take a peice of your fabric and get the best matching one you can. Good luck.
Nice work what is the size if the headliner
I think this info is already in the comments.
Hello my friends, Mercedes like most of the other cars has this issue that the fabric for the headliner separates after some years and it sags, in this video I share with you my experience of removal and restoration of my W209 CLK Mercedes, this can set you back thousands of dollars if done professionally at a shop or at a dealer. Please feel free to skip the first part if you know how to remove the different components from headliner. Please let me know in the comment section your experience and love to hear your feedback.
Hey,
Do you know how much fabric you used ?
Thinking about doing mine soon and i dont want to buy too much or too less Material.
Thanks in Advance.
Btw. great Video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Not even 2 meters... probably 1.7 should be enough.
@@BenzAddiction1.7m length and how wide was the fabric? I’m looking into doing the same but the material only comes in 1.4m width so I migh lt have to sew two lengths together
Great work thanks alot , but how you get out the headliner out from the car and how you get it back ? ..I think it will be good if we see how you do it in details ..thanks again ..❤
Hello, this was the easiest part, open both windows and the headliner comes out easy and it goes back in too...
@@BenzAddiction my car is w210 .can i bend it a little to get out or it ll' be broken ?
I have same car 2008 CLK 550 AMG coupe and just noticed headliner beginning to fall down in the rear. I also have a 1997 2dr Chevy Tahoe that had the same headliner issue which I fixed myself. I removed the headliner from the vehicle, took the fabric off the headliner and cleaned it as you demonstrated. But I did not go back with fabric. Instead with a paint roller I painted the headliner with two coats of over textured deck paint. It looks fantastic better than new and will never have to do it again. After watching your video seeing the W209 headliner is also fiberglass I believe I will use the same paint method as I did on my truck. What will differently is attempt to better smooth the interior surface of the headliner before painting it. Like others have said reinstall video would be helpful particularly the wiring reconnection.
@@BenzAddictiondid you go through the front door or rear
@philipdennis5020 CLK is a pillar less coupe.
How to get back this roof 🥹😂😂😂
👍
