Hello, the primary purpose of winglets is to improve efficiency by reducing wingtip vortices which causes induced drag.
The winglets on this aircraft are called "Split Scimitar" an upward pointing winglet and a downward pointing fin.
The split Scimitar increases fuel efficiency by reducing drag.
Helps improve the lift to drag ratio enabling better climb rates.
Provides lateral stability by reducing turbulence caused by wingtip vortices.
Improves Range
Better efficiency
