Ive pretty much been playing this song on repeat trying to cover it, but John Moreland is another of those artist that left on me the exact impression you're speaking of

Get to see Zach in Dublin in April in 1200 capacity concert hall. To say I’m looking forward to it is understatement. The music is so authentic and genuine. Forget reaching in and touching your heart. This music is deeper - soul grabbing music .
