Rainbow Springs is special because the entire Rainbow River is clear, where lots of rivers the tannins turn it murky brown again once you leave the spring head . Unfortunately though it's so hard to get into these days. I haven't had any luck lately.
That’s is very true. But the campground swim area wasn’t as clear as the head spring. It’s definitely hard to get into places. There are some that we just never got in. Good luck. Alice
Such a lovely video & campground tour! We especially loved hearing about all the wonderful history this Rainbow 🌈 of a place offers! Great job guys! You put a lot into this video and it shows! It’s on point! 😀🌈👍 Peace!
I love it. It’s hard to say which is the nicest thing in the park. I liked the water how clear blue it was. I liked seeing the birds. I love nature and waterfalls. I love it all. I think it’s all beautiful. Thank you for showing this park it’s beautiful. Have a great week. See you next week.
Stephen, thank you for realizing that. it can be very frustrating. Unfortunately, sometimes it’s a matter of waiting for a cancellation. There are many campgrounds we haven’t gotten into. Keep looking. Good luck, Alice
What a great park. We will definitely check it out. Looks like there is so much to do in the crystal clear water and out in the beautiful surroundings. Gorgeous.
You will love it. I don’t think they are tubing right now. But you can rent a camper from the campground and go straight to the springs. But remember, if the day use reaches capacity, they won’t let you dock
My husband and I have been watching all the fantastic Florida State and National Parks you both have toured and stayed. We are seriously considering getting the State Park sticker. It looks like Florida does it different from MN. We are FL bound this coming winter. 😎
Susan, I’m glad you are enjoying your virtual stays. From what I was told by Florida State Parks, the sticker or pass is only for day use. You can get campground discounts if you are disabled. I’m excited for your winter trip. Feel free to ask any questions, Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents It is absolutely wonderful for us. I keep a journal of campgrounds and RV parks that we're interested in visiting when we begin our travels. Thanks again!
Your video of Hanna Park in Jacksonville Florida was the reason we booked there! We had such a great time. So I definitely appreciate the detailed tours👍🏾.

Great video y’all. Looks like a great park. Love the sites. They look massive. Plus all the stuff you can do looks amazing. The tubing would be a blast. Like the little waterfalls to and the history of the park. Great share. Sure makes me want to go.
@@DownsizingMakesCents yes Silver Springs state park did have Tarzan movies. Mr. Mozart invented underwater photography. Some of his photos were always on display. Thank you. The zoo is in the day use to the left of the spring. We don’t do the history that much any more because we didn’t get much positive feedback. So I really appreciate this.
I see you stay in a lot of state parks with your 5th wheel. If you do not mind, would you please tell me the length of your RV (by its self) and the length of your entire rig. I am currently researching / looking to purchase a 2021 /2022 Ram 3500 DRW and the 2021 Grand Design 346FLS (37' 11"), but I want to make sure that I'm able to get into at least some of the state parks. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Ray
We picked the 310 GK because it was 35’. We researched that many National parks don’t allow over 35’. We didn’t go smaller because we were worried that too small after having a large house we lived in for 23 years- it would be difficult to adjust. Now I wish we went smaller- 28’. There will be more places you can stay. And when we went to Canada, they see anything over 32’ as the largest in their provincial parks. And a park like Anastasia won’t take over 35’. We have a Ram 3500 longbed crew cab dually. It’s about 22’. But when trying to book a site on Reserve America or other reservation websites, it’s the fifth wheel size that will limit how many spaces are available- and it’s so hard to get in places right now. Sorry. Probably not the answer you hoped for. State parks do have spots for big rigs, but just not as many. Good luck. Let us know how it goes, Alice
Your content is SOOO well produced, my goodness! I do have one small question though regarding camping here....how does one procure the gate code for the campground prior to checking in? Would we just go to the other main entrance for day guests?
Thank you for the awesome compliment. For gate code, call the ranger station the day you check in Remember, campground and day use or completely separate- different addresses Alice Alice
Humberto, you would have to ride your bike on the road. There is a path to the tubing area though. It was easier to canoe down to the head spring from the campground, Alice
We got ours right in the campground and launched right there. Unfortunately, you can paddle down to the day use, but if it’s at capacity, they won’t let you dock
Cathy, yes. Go straight to the state park website and look for the booking button. They are switching away from Reserve America and raising costs 30 percent. I’m not sure if these changes have happened yet. We are in Tennessee now, Alice
You couldn't pay me to go here anymore. I grew up in Florida, I'm 61 years old and I remember this River well. So many Northerners and newcomers have ruined everything. I'm so glad I saw it when it was still beautiful
RVs ruin campgrounds. Noisy generators, air conditioners, diesel fumes. Go park it in a Walmart parking lot. U aren't "seeking nature", ur simply sleeping in ur vehicle. Leave campgrounds for tent campers to enjoy, peace, quiet & wildlife!🏕️🏕️🏕️🏕️🏕️🏕️🏕️🏕️
Campgrounds are now designed FOR RVs - with power, water, dump station etc. if there is power, generators are not allowed. I’ve seen tenters that play loud music, leave a mess, etc. Its not RVer Vs Tenters. It’s rude campers in general that ruin it.
