Fast Easy Fix: Broken Waterpik Hose Tube

Has your Waterpik hose sprung a leak? Or completely broken? This video will show you how to easily fix it in less than two minutes.
One option is to repair the existing tube. However the reason the tube broke in the first place is because it became brittle over time. So repairing it means it is likely to break again soon. Therefore, replacing the tube and wand is a much better choice since this fix will last for years and only cost $14. That’s less than one quarter the price of buying a whole new Waterpik.
This solution work on the following Waterpik models: WP-100, WP-250, WP-300, WP-450, WP-660, WP-900. You can also see this list in the notes below the video.
Step One: Order the replacement handle and tube. See the link in the notes below this video. You will need only a Philips head screwdriver for this fix so make sure you have one.
Step Two: Empty all the water out of your Waterpik. In fact, you can also simply remove the whole plastic water reservoir if you wish.
Step Three: For this step you will need a small Phillips head screwdriver. Turn your Waterpik upside down. You will see where the end of the hose connects to the underside of your waterpik. It is held in place by two small Phillips head screws. Remove these two screws and set them aside. You will need them in a minute.
Step Four: Gently pull off the white round connector that was held in place by the screws. Rocking it back and forth as you tug on it will help work it free. Then remove the hose from the recessed channel holding it in place. Flip the Waterpik right side up and remove the remainder of the hose from the clips inside the hose storage area. The old handle and hose should now be completely free.
Step Five: Turn the unit back upside down. Thread the connector end of the hose through the tunnel from the front hose storage area to the underside. Gently press the connector on the new hose into place where the old connector was removed. Thread the hose into the recessed channel on the underside pressing it under each retaining clip. Then use the two screws removed earlier to fasten it down. It’s best to alternately tighten each screw a little at a time until they are both firmly in place. Do not overtighten but make certain the connector is seated all the way down.
Step Six: Turn your Waterpik right side up and press the hose coming from the underside into the last two remaining clips.
That’s it! Your Waterpik is now good as new. Plug it in and add some water to the reservoir. Turn it on and make sure it is not leaking underneath where the connector was installed. If so tighten the two screws a little more.
One tip. On my unit the new hose was flexing out from the hose storage area which made it harder to stow away the hose. So I taped the first loop into place with a piece of packing tape.

From the many videos on RUclips, it's pretty obvious that a design flaw of wrong material or sub standard material exists with the hose tube of Waterpik. Hopefully the manufacturer will do something about this.
Maybe I’ll buy a replacement tube and reinforce the end by the handle with a couple layers of heat shrink tubing. That’s what I did to my iPhone and laptop charging cables. Biggest problem is stretching the un-shrunk tubing over the connectors (in the past I used needle nose pliers to stretch out the shrink tube).
It's just a manufacturer's trick to sell their 16.99 USD shit on a regular basis.
i think they do it on purpose to keep u buying parts or buy the whole thing again. im going to use "industrual" food safe pnaumatic hose which is made for high pressure and doesnt crack.

Thanks! I had already replaced it once with the original WP-660 hose and handle but the hose bursted again. I came across this one on Amazon and was wondering would it be compatible with my Aquarius model and here you are showing us how to replace it on the exact model I have. :)
