+BreakAndStyleCrew Luan repeated air chair too many times, though the air chair variations were unique and he beat killed the second round with a headspin, he still repeated the air chair a bit while taisuke was more different in his set. Hence the close vote.
I feel second round should have gone to Luan, but third is definitely to Taisuke. To be honest though between the two I'd rather see Taisuke go through, at least you can do a little bit more with flares and swipes, you can only do so many variations of air chairs.
This comment section is hilarious. People go on and on about Luan being repetitive when Taisuke is even more so. All of Taisuke's sets consist of the same go to moves and he hardly changed in the past 5 or so years. Luan had more complex moves, good musicality, and better footwork. Luan definitely took the first and second set. And no I am not Brazilian.
the judges were trying to save taisuke as hard as they can for the first rounds ... ive seen luan doing those signatures moves against hardcore moves than taisuke ones and luan still winning it easily
Flare to swipes is a move done back in the early 90's! Now chair hops the way luan did is newer and away more harder.... but is not only about that we all need to agree that this year REDBULL FUCKEDUP
Luan JUST DID AIR CHAIRS. His variations were dope in the first round but that's all he brought in the first round, air chair variations while tai duke brought a variety of powermoves. The only reason why it was a tie in the first round was because Luan'a variations were very difficult. However in the second round he brought out duller variations while Taisuke was consistent with the quality of his power. In the third round Luan wasn't even trying anymore, it was way too easy for Taisuke.
I'm brazilian and i think Luan lost this one, he's dope, we're proud of having him representing Brazil, but he repeated too much, you can say that by seeing that he did the air chair + headspin combo twice, by the way, his first and second round were fire
I've said this more times than i care to say. Taisuke beat Luan. reasons: Variety of movements: You could say that Taisuke did a lot of the same thing (swipes and flares) but if you look at the way they both transitioned (how they got IN AND OUT) into their 'repeated moves' of them, that's where the judges gave it to Taisuke. Taisuke flowed, swept, stoped and started again, or jumped into his swipes and flares, and typically exited a different way from the last. Meanwhile Luan seems to ONLY jump into his airchares, and he did that in every round, MULTIPLE TIMES! And that's what sealed Luan's fate. Attitude: Being hungry to win is one thing, but when you take it and start disrespecting your opponent, that can work against you. a good example of it working for you would be Bboy Vero. He has fire in his eyes but it's held back and perfected by hubris and respect. Also, Taisuke can do almost anything Luan can do, he just chose to keep it in reserve, like responding to Luan's CHAIR-headspin drill, with a FLARE-headspin drill. it's all about how you react to your opponent. I'm not saying that Luan didn't do well, I'm just saying that Taisuke was the wrong opponent for someone like Luan. -PEACE!!! KS
This is actually a really interesting battle. I think I would've given Luan the second round despite how close it is (I get that Luan repeated with variations and Taisuke knew that going in, but Taisuke still didn't pack enough in his round IMO to outright beat Luan's set that still had some excellent stuff in there like the headspin drill combo). Taisuke still would've won every round after that though because Luan ran out of moves. But the first round is also pretty close and I could see it going either way. As far as the first 2 rounds go, either one of them could've gotten both votes very easily-in a weird paradoxical kind of way. All in all, both of them were fire. It's unfortunate that Luan doesn't quite have enough in his arsenal to go far at the World Final level but dude has a dope and respectable mastery of the moves he's got.
o man luan's second round starting combo! by far one of the best so far.. too bad he shot himself in the foot in the 3rd round by repeating.. i hope to see him again next year, and hopefully he adds new stuff to his already great asernal
It was a very close battle, but Luan was very repetitive and only brought air chair variations and v-kicks to the table. Taisuke responded a lot and had multiple combos. Once again, very close battle, but Taisuke took this one
The crowds have become desensitized to this level of dancing. 10-15 yrs ago even this sort of battle would be legendary yet the crowd just sits there, dead af.
R u blind? Okay how bout this, Luan air chair... Air chair... One head spin drill... Air chair again. Don't argue with me that they were air chair variations, Taisuke was doing variations too.

In Round 1, Luan pumped the floor like crazy, it's a breakdancing competition not a Guinness world record. LOL He could do 1000 flares and still lose.
Too many stabbed based moves, too many air chairs. At the beginning of the battle, Taisuke gestures what I just said. Laun is amazing, but he's gotta get out of the stabs for a minute

Okay, so, here, this is definitely the best battle in the competition so far, however yeah, the judges did make some strange choices there. The fact that they tied in the first round makes sense, more or less. But the second round went to Taisuke? I personally like Taisuke's style very much. He has a humble kind of agressivity about him. He's a paradoxical, original dancer. I've never heard of Luan, but the second round was definitely his. Taisuke knew he had to do better than that round and knew he was far short of the target and that's why he stopped like that and then started again. That the judges awarded him the round was clearly a mistake. The last round was decidedly over as it was, given that both players were unprepared and worn out. I imagine luan will be back. Hopefully the organization will take notice of our comments and put together more firm criteria for what's good and what's bad. What a point is and isn't.

Yeap break dance ...... Freshhhhhh
