    Hi, I have just bought a second hand Beta 2014 with a notched basket. I replaced it and had exactly the same issues but mine has a hydraulic clutch line. I’ve spent 4 weeks on and off trying to solve the issue. This video is the closest thing I’ve found and you have done everything I have done to fix it. Just last night I thought maybe this is normal… (doesn’t happen on my ttr250 though) anyway I appreciate your video and all the fixes you went through. ✌️

      Thanks for your input. I recently got a xr250 and it doesn’t drag/stick at ALL. Is yours slipping or sticking?

    i had this same problem on a 95 rm 125 , i filed the grooves in the basket down and it freed up and started working fine , it would drag @ low RPM and Slip at high rpm , i put a new ebc clutch , filed the grooves down a little bit and then broke the clutch in slow , now it works perfect

    I think you may have put your clutch in with a steel first, and it needs to be a friction plate. When you took it out there was a steel in first.

    Remove the flywheel so you can remove the clutch release cam. A worn/mushroomed end will cause disengagement & slipping issues.

    Im fighting the same battle with my 99 rm250 i had the cover off and plates out and inspected twice I cleaned them the second time with brake clean and tested without fluid and it works as it should. but after adding 10w40 they stick to that end plate and the bike wont free up in gear. ive heard of ppl running atf in there for a bit maybe thinner oil will help?

    My 2019 Suzuki V Strom DL 250 clutch seems to be sticking as well. I have changed the oil but sometimes after 15 minutes of writing it just gives very difficult shift and I believe the fiction place are just too sticky. I might just have to open them up and clean them out.

    • @Tony2Strokes
      @Tony2Strokes  5 месяцев назад

      It might be the flat bearing on back of the pressure plate. It looks like it can go either way but flipping it around fixed my problem

      @@Tony2Strokes So I'll open up the clutch on my bike and it may be that either I will have to clean out the Cork based material or just get new friction plates In addition to this I will be slightly sanding down the steel plates give them a good clean and soak everything in new oil for a couple of nights

    that bike is way too rich on the bottom end. check your air screw is 1.5 out and if it and the bike still sounds terrible like that you need to go down on the pilot jet

    • @Tony2Strokes

      I’m fighting that issue right now!! I think it may be from the power jet. The yamaha’s have the same power jet and I’ve heard of folks going down to a #40 on the power jet.
      Do you know what RPM activates the power jet?

    Im not sure on rm but theres a push rod going through from flywheel to clutch side. Some have a tiny ball bearing in. If its missing then it wont engage properly. Im at beginning of vid writing this so sorry if u solved it already

      How do you know if your bike has that? I'm having clutch engagement issues and this is like the only thing that's making sense - I've reinstalled the clutch assembly a ton of times. How do you get a replacement ball bearing....?

    I think you are using engine oil and it should have 10w40 motorcyle gear oil that is designed for wet clutches should say it on the bottle the oil u showed in the video was engine oil and thats not goin to work in a transmission

      Just saw you got different plates try replacing clutch component like the top hat on the end of the rod there used to be a ball bearing in some bikes but they switched it to the roller bearing on cover with hat also replace actuator hope that helps

      Thanks Colby, from what I’ve found. It’s normal on these Suzuki’s

  • @scottbellisle5581
    @scottbellisle5581 9 месяцев назад +1

    There is nothing normal about that. You pull in the clutch and it should feel like neutral. Just like any vehicle that has a clutch.
    Mind you I’m having the same problem with mine. I was hoping some video is gonna show the fox

    • @Tony2Strokes
      @Tony2Strokes  9 месяцев назад

      I was hoping the same….. I will say, after replacing the clutch with EBC friction plates, this has made the most improvement.
      Just rev it up….. a little……before you going into first. Once it breaks free, you’re good to go👌🏽. And it totally can be “normal “ if engineers were a bit short on the measurements. It happens to all makes and models. Yamaha’s kick shafts are weak. Honda’s …. (I’m sure they have something)😂.
      Thanks for the comment, If you do find a solution please share.
