Are you going to address the recent reports that TCL QLEDs like this one may not actually have QD screens? The reports came out before you published this video.
Have 85” for about a month and loving it. I swear the 85” is not the standard panel. It looks great from the side. Motion on tough scenes could be better but I haven’t touched motion settings so maybe could be better
I agree with you on the Picture quality, great for movies with balanced whites and blacks. The audio is good and better then most TVs for the price but if you want better dialogue then get a soundbar
I have two TCL's hooked up together to a PC to form one giant merged display and the motion is one of the best things about them, especially in gaming. It's near-flawless. TCL is currently my favorite TV brand. I do wish they made the QM7 in a 50" size though.
@@wadanicabdi TCL is cheaper because they manufacture all of their parts in house. Everything inside and out of the TV is produced by them. Same can’t be said for everyone else
Cant wait for the calibaration video for the TCL QM7 QD Mini LED im thinking about purchasing it in the holiday season/ please do a calibration for xbox and movie time. and the best views for the dark and contrast spots..thank you
Have had this tv for a couple weeks and love it. Will check out your calibration settings. I used the ones from rtings and play with them but always like trying what others do.
Thinking of getting this in 65in as my first 4k tv. Sounds like it performs really well on motion blurring due to legitimately high frequencies. The thing i hate most about tvs is motion blur/jutter like with my kdl-60ex70. Thinking this will be a nice upgrade.
Why is no one discussing the recent reports re TCL QLEDs not actually having QD screens? I just bought a 55" QM7 that is nearly identical to the models that failed the tests, and I would like to know more.
Just picked up the QM7 55” from Best Buy on sale for $499. As a casual gamer and RUclips watcher the screen clarity and brightness are perfect for my needs. If you’re in the market for a “bang for your buck” tv I highly recommend it.
@PattyBTX This is the 549$ 2024 mini qed version. The 499$ bestbuy is the TCL - 55" Class Q7 Q-Class QLED 4K HDR Smart TV with Google TV (2023). Unless you got some openbox or managers special its not the same and worth the extra 50 bones. Just make sure you have the right one. You have 30 day to exchange.
Same here, $499 at Best Buy awesome deal. Just brought it home yesterday and set it up, hooked up my digital receiver, got familiar with the system, and working on calibration tonight/tomorrow. For some reason I can't get my PC to output 4K it should have auto detected but I'm thinking it's a graphics driver update that's needed; been a while.
@mikek5958 i was just at bestbuy and the 499 one was not this. That was the Q7. Not Mini. The QM7 is $549. I assume you talking 55inch. Can you clarify where you got an extra 50 off if so. Thanks. If you got the wrong one you should swap for the qmy worth the extra. Got 30 days.
Awesome Review 👊 Just found your channel!! Picking up 55” version tomorrow for my main gaming monitor (Series X / RPi5) and movies. Totally surprised on how much tv you get for $700. The sound issue for me is not a big deal - Will go with a 2.1 THX Klipsch Desktop Speaker setup. I am big into audio / video so I am excited to get it up running see what it can do.
Im a Sony guy, as they say once you go Bravia you never go back. But looking at one of these to pair with xbox in games room. I dont want to drop 2k on a sony oled or bravia 7 to get 120 refresh. And I also so rarely turn on my Sony soundbar for gaming as it too loud for rest of house. But this is suppose to have amazing speakers/sound for an out of box TV. I understand TCL is lower end /cheaper but if I cant go high end I would rather this than a midrange samsung which is all I could find in same price range with 120 refresh. And it was only qed not mini. 55inch specs.
It's going to get you 90% of the Sony for half the price .. Fomo has side by side with qm7 qm8 Bravia 7 and Bravia 9. They all look fairly close on real content just watching TV. The markup on Sony is insane and they are living off low sale volume, with a few dedicated fans paying whatever they ask to keep the tv division afloat
How does the TCL QM7 compared to the Samsung QN90D? I have the QM7 in 75”… but was debating on the QN90D in 65” but it’s $300 more… trying to see if it’s worth the $300 increase in price
I just missed the BB sale on this for 699. Would you recommend the 65 inch model still even at a 899 USD price point? I’m still leaning towards it despite the 200 dollar increase. Such great value still IMO. Any thoughts?
Hi, for anyone. Is the QM7 mini-LED worth it compared to the QM8 mini-LEDs for 2023 or 2024? I'm trying to pick between the three models balancing size and price.
In your opinion (or anyone who has experience with the QM7 tv in comments) I have the option for an open box “good condition” 65 inch A95L from Best Buy with some scratches and fingerpints (not major) on the screen but Best Buy turned it on for me and it doesn’t affect picture quality or performance while turned on and they’re giving $1,300 off full price….or for the same price I could get a QM7 85 inch brand new. Obviously A95L picture quality is way better but how decent is the QM7 in SDR cable? wondering if buying new and getting a 20 inches larger tv might outweigh the benefits of having a used A95L in somewhat dinged up condition?
TCLs don’t have a standard mode? With 80% of folks not changing modes and probably over 90% not tinkering with the settings, that would be a kamikaze move by TCL. The moment you switched to Movie even Brave got the dreaded tint which would make shows like Succession or Curb your Enthusiasm closer to The Last of Us.
@TechSteve ok thanks for clarify. If budget wasn't an issue, and you had a dark theatre room, and you wanted 85", would ypu say the LG g4 is the way to go? I understand the TCL is the best value for money but if you just wanted the absolute beat picture for dark room theatre's? Thanks man!
5:37 Just an example of the blocky chunky pixelization in many newer TVs including Oleds. My older Sony Bravia LED never did this. I believe the TCL Q6 98 inch without dimming zones shouldn't have this problem. It would be nice to see a comparison with similar content to know for sure?

QM7 compares to last year's Q8 as far as specs. QM7 will be supported longer in the future and the interface is better.
Is TCL C755 and QM7 the same or different?
I couldn't find TCL QM7 in Asia but there's a mini LED model called TCL C755...is it the same one?
Is it brighter than the 2023 Sony x93 l?
