      @@meandme8535 Tell MK to stop making those shitty tile saws for you guys. Go back to the red ones instead of the orange. We rented one (store #6321) and from the front of the blade to the back, it was out 3/16" and couldn't be run on a 20A breaker. We ran a wire from a spare breaker to a 20A duplex just for it, and it popped the breaker after 20 seconds of use every cut. It has a 30A twist lock plug coming out of it, and they have a GFCI pigtail coming off to convert it to standard NEMA 5 110V plug. Derp, it obviously needs a 30A twist lock outlet to use. The rental dept at that store is worthless. (I'm sure you know that already.) They did nothing about it.

    I like how their (Makita) interlocking case system works with the Festool ones. Kind of make sense to have other brands all work together for storage purposes.

    • @martin8313
      @martin8313 2 года назад

      That system of containers, beautifully named "Systainer", was created and patented by Festo/Festool who have deals with most of the other high-end German brands where they allow them to use their Systainer design. Makita and Hitachi are, to my knowledge, the only non-German brands that use these Systainer cases and Makita is also the least 'prestigious' one. Makitas systainer is also by far the flimsiest and overall worst one.

    Can honestly say I never knew about that compartment except on my hammer drill case as it’s a clear blue cover that shows it underneath. Why I didn’t think it was there with my other cases is beyond me, but it does highlight a design floor by makita that should be easy to correct to draw attention to the compartment. It’s definitely getting used now rather than letting things roll around with my tools transporting it from place to place doing odd jobs or grabbing a tool bag that’s for sure!
    One thing I do not like and I spotted it as well with yours is the steel pin for the hinge. I don’t like how it can slide out. It’s an issue I have with the cases you have in the video and is getting worse the older it gets. It needs something to latch onto to hold it in place and if that happens I would be 100% happy with the case.

  • @ludeksykora1375
    @ludeksykora1375 5 лет назад +4

    Haha true not many people knows about compartment. But Makita didn't think this through as after while of useing this lid get worn and won't hold...quite enoying when you grab box and lid opens and all stuff ends on ground...

    My Makita drill I brought about 7 years ago came with a case that has room for a second drill, two extra batteries, room for the charger and the top had clearish plastic so you could see what drill and driver bits were in which compartment. My guess why they moved away from the clearish plastic was that it doesn't handle the sun too well and isn't as strong.

    My next tool will be a Makita solely because it comes with the included extra storage. However Makita did make mine a little on the lite side and I had to spend a lot of time strengthening it with extra brackets (3 of them) and additional clips to hold the lid closed. It is better than the nothing most other suppliers have but it could have been better. It needs to last the life of the drill. Friends in the trade don't use their storage because the lids come off after a while as I guess mine will eventually but I am not looking forward to this as it means I will have to start carrying an additional tool box.

    My Makita set is about 3 years old (18v driver+impact 1/4) and the case's upper compartment is actually opaque-green'ish. The shown cases seemed like a genuine effort to make the compartment invisible, felt like watching a magic trick when he opened it 😂
    But screw those (magnificent) cases - Makita's are plain awesome 😎✌

    I'm planning to buy one of these for my camera gear to have it in the trunk of the car.
    It makes sense to have all the same boxes that fit to one another.
    Makita also makes a cooler box of the same size :)

    My Makita Tools are too old to have the cool box but, they're still running like champs, and that's pretty cool.

    I got all excited and went down to the shop to be amazed at the new feature I never realized I had. I was so disappointed. None of my Makita boxes have this feature.
