    It's Phil for me, 11 rings out of 13 finals appearances in two different decades, sure he had MJ,Kobe and Shaq but when he coached the 90's Bulls and 2000's Lakers no other team has won more than them, no other team went more to the finals than them.
    Phil out-coached Pat in the 90's and Pop in the 00's, Kerr was his player back then, and to be able to control the ego of MJ and Kobe is already an achievement in itself.

      Out coached Pop? Not sure about that. They definitely had more talent than the Spurs which I’m sure helped. But he didn’t do much in the 2004 Finals with overwhelming talent now did he?😳

      @@albertwang6465 that’s kind of a silly statement how many coaches won without at least one superstar in their lineup? I can only think of one in the modern era and that was Larry Broen who coached the ‘04 Pistons past the Lakers who had Phil Jackson at the helm.😑

    Pop is the goat coach. He made the Spurs competitive even after Duncan retired not to mention SPURS have 60‰ winning percentage when duncan was getting DNP.

    Phil Jackson is the Goat. Coaching a 3peat on a different teams are extraordinary. Popovich fails to make a back to back and a 3 peat. No doubt Phil is the greatest

    To be the greatest coach ever you can’t have all your championships attach to one guy. Phil has done it with multiple. Pop without Duncan sucks just look at him since 2017 he has sucked!

      That's dumb. Phil had the best player in the league every time he won. Pop won with a 38yr old Duncan who was no longer the best player on the Spurs.

      Good point, but he's not just coaching one guy. He's coaching a whole team. Yes that main player is easier to coach with one style, but every player on the team, every year, needs a different approach to bring out their potential. Pop did it with a ton of people

      @@jasonbecke agreed, without a superstar every coach looks worse. Some coaches are best at making bad teams look decent, floor risers. Some coaches are good at making great teams dominant, ceiling risers. It's hard to compare a coach to others or even themselves when they themselves are human and have their own strengths and weaknesses, even in coaching styles or approach

    It is hard to pick. Popovich failed to defend title everytime. Even Kerr failed to win a threepeat with the most powerful perimeter players in history. Phil is my choice. Phil won multiple times with 3 diferent teams (Jordan, Pippen/Kobe, Shaq/Kobe, Pau).

      When you lose two of those greatest perimeter players for good in the same playoff series the likelihood of winning a title is eliminated.

    You can't call this video, "Who's Actually The Best NBA Coach Ever," and then start from the 1980's. Of course this is my opinion, and I don't follow RUclipsrs who do this. By starting in the 1980's you leave out perhaps, the best coach ever... Red Auerbach.

    My pick is pat rilely..he had 4 hall of fame players one 1 team and made that work no problems.. Phil could barely hold a team together with just 2.. Pat never let who's team is it get in the way of winning ..Riles is the man

    None of those coaches won anything without at least one superstar player. Phil gets discredited for coaching 4 of the greatest players in the last 40 years but those guys won nothing before he got there.

    PHIL JACKSON had the convenience of coaching strong teams and has remarkable skills in handling complex personalities, particularly SUPERSTAR PLAYERS. For me, GREGG POPOVICH is the BEST NBA COACH EVER. He has a knack for developing his players into COMPLETE PLAYERS. He's crafty, doesn't use MIND GAMES/MANIPULATION (unlike Phil Jackson and Pat Riley) on his players. He PREPARES them WELL, MOTIVATES them, tells his players STRAIGHTFORWARD to PLAY SMART, an give their 100% EFFORT. He equipped his players with SOLID FUNDAMENTALS and turned some of his players into SOLID ROLE PLAYERS. POP made the SPURS 5x NBA CHAMPIONS and is the NBA'S GREATEST COACH 🐐

    Three 3 peats and a back to back. Pop never repeated and screwed the team out of a chip in 2013. He also lost in the 1st round as defending champions and the Spurs were still legit contenders.

    Chuck Daly! Played with a center who shot threes, a low post forward (Aguirre and Darnley before him) who could match up with the other teams׳ tall centers like Kareem, Rodman who wouldn’t get a chance anywhere else and mediocre guard like Dumars. And,of course, let Thomas lead this group.

    Phil Jackson, the consecutive wins, he’s a winner no doubt.but I will say how Pop coached up 2014 Spurs team was really beautiful basketball.btw Gary Neal wasn’t in that Spurs team when they won in 2014

    Its Phil for god's sake. It's not even close. 3x 3-peats including back to back. Pop did not dominate his era. Tho spurs is very consistent playoff team for the past decades, he did not win back to back championships. He's one of the best for sure and deserved to be in the conversation. But phil is the GOAT.

    phil had 11 rings as a coach, 2 as a player, 3 3 peats and 1 back to back.. red auerbach had 9 chips with one team but he only had to go up against 10 teams back then.. pop and kerr are not even in phil's level..

    It's Phil. It ain't Popavich. Even Riley and Kerr won back to back. Pop couldn't get 1 repeat with a so-called dynasty. Phil did 3 the hard way 3 times. Nearly got a 4th one but did repeat. Again. Opinions are opinions, but results show the truth.

    I say Phil is the greatest coach. He had some very strong personalities to work with. Michael and kobe weren't easy to deal with. Remember Pop was almost fired the year before he won his 1st title. And you forgot to mention Celtics all time great coach Red Auerbach. I believe he won 8 straight titles in the 60's

      Jordan was very coachable and always has been. He was the enforcer of the coach’s strategy. By him buying in and setting the example his teammates had a choice of following suit or not playing at all.
