My daughter has awful menstral migraines. Dr recommended magnesium, and I purchased some for her, but realized I have no idea how to tell her to take it. She is slightly mentally disabled and very scared/Leary/stubborn. How does she take it?

Our body is so amazing. I can always feel when my periods are coming days before. I automatically feel weaker and tiredness. And then I get the headaches. But these days I get headaches all throughout my period. And the annoyance and emotions are high.
The doctor was useless! But everything you mentioned is what I research and found out over time and religiously implementing into my routine as much as possible has helped so much. Milk thistle, aswaghanda and teas from traditional medicinals help a lot too. Try it ladies ❤
Wow.. as a hormonal migraine sufferer since my early 20’s this was enlightening.. Not sure why I’ve never thought to research this topic to seek relief, I’ve just dealt with it with heavy triptan drugs and nasal sprays. Thank you for this information.
I started having hormonal migraines about a year or 2 ago (I'm about to be 39). They were always within 3 days before or after the start of my period, but recently they've moved to before my period by about a week or so.
I'm the exact same . Always 3 days before or on the 3rd day of my period . This month for the first time I have had it a week after my period . How are you managing it?
Thank you for the information, Crystal! I've struggled with migraines for years and finally I got off gluten and it helped a ton. When I do get then now it's usually around my period which I hadn't really thought about the connection. Great video!

These are the videos i am so happy to see. I recently just turned 30. After my second was born, i began having "end menstrual migraines". I had no idea why they were happening or what could cause them. Thankfully it helped me begin a journey that I am excited for as it helped me quit drinking and its helping me learn to have a healthy relationship with food. Funny thing though is that since weaning in November, I now suffer from a headache around ovulation. our bodies always seem to be changing so now im looking into how to help the headaches around ovulation. Thank you for your videos.
Drink wheatgrass! And eat meat and foods with high vit c don’t take supplements because especially with iron what we take as a supplement isn’t usually bioavailable and we can get iron toxicity which perpetuates iron deficiency and causes a lot of issues. Also vit c as a supplement isn’t actually vit c it’s just Ascorbic acid the shell of a c molecule and it shoves iron into storage in the cell creating problems. But growing and juicing wheatgrass is amazing it has the highest vit c you can find and iron and copper (vit c molecule contains copper it helps process iron!) a lot of times we’re not actually iron deficient in the body we just can’t pull it from storage and use it because we lack the nutrients to do so oxo
I had migraines before I started elementary school. There were no meds until I was 50 years old. Vomiting, dark room and no sound. By puberty they amped up and lasted 5 days. By my twenties I got demerol and vistaril shots for pain and nausea. They became only abdominal by menopause and recently in my 60s got bad again.
Very helpful video! Thanks for sharing this. I suffered from premenstrual migraines on the pill. Now Im off the pill and still trying to find my hormonal balance. I dont have many migraines at the moment but recently I had some heavy ones.
Very validating thank you for all the information and delivering it in such a calm and even hopeful way! Knowledge is power, and knowing we are not alone as migraine suffers also is helpful. Will definitely try some of these suggestions I’ve been suffering since I was 16 and I know that I am in perimenopause, which does have a correlation with migraines and once again, it is those great hormones as the culprit! Lol
I did a food sensitivity blood test. I'm sensitive to turmeric, nutritional yeast, chia seeds, and about 30 other foods. Just wanted to let people know that they really need to get tested because a lot of "helpful" foods that so many people are pushing could be a trigger for you.
Those tests are just reading inflammatory responses so your body could be mounting an immune response from underlying viral load and using those foods to do so (epstein barr, streptococcus, hpv, ect). They're really not useful.
Thanks, this has been really helpful. I've had migraines around my period for many years, as did my mum. For many years I never knew they were even considered a form a migraine though, and because I had previously also been diagnosed with tension cluster headaches, I never even thought to search for migraine help until the last few years. I'm 46 now, and although my cycle is still regular, i've noticed that my headaches have been getting worse around my period and ovulation, so I'm a little nervous about when perimenopause really starts!
you've talked about lowering prostaglandins and increasing iron intake, but what about premenstrual migraines? are there specific supplements or foods that can help balance out the fluctuating hormone and therefore prevent migraines?
I tried yoga, massage, arumatheopy baths, and over the counter medication but nothing worked. I feel great pressure in my head and neck and as if my eyes going to pop out of my skull.. For two weeks now.. I have cupping appointment in two days I hope it eases the pain.
Hi I had a lot of neck pain that triggered migraines and found out I had a herniated disc that was pushing on the nerves associated with migraine pain. So you may want to check to see if it's a disc issue.
Prenatals for me helped :) I wasnt using it for headaches just for hair and nails. To my suprise no more pms and headaches. They worked just as well as propranolol. They also worked right away.
I've considered a hysterectomy soon JUST for relief from my migraines. But in the end, the results were mixed. Now I"m in perimenopause. And literally HALF of post menopausal women have full relief from migraines and half dont. So.....😂
