      It's effectively 120. I pass radar traps on a regular basis going at that clip and often make eye contact with the cop. 120 with 5-10 second following distance, straight line, light traffic they're not gonna bother you. The second you start tailing or weaving you're in deep 💩

      Why would it cost so much? Everything is paid for already and the officers are being paid already. The only expense I can see is the fuel used by the helicopter and patrol cars, and that shouldn't come close to 5 or 10 grand. btw those speeds are considered reckless driving in addition to speeding. Do we know that they were chasing him only for reckless driving or was there another reason?

    • @Slicerwizard
      @Slicerwizard 6 лет назад +56

      Agreed, didn't cost us much of anything. Durham has loads of cops, no overtime involved, just already budgeted and paid for resources. If some jackass wants to do 230, he can pay the price though.

    Canadian highway driving is ridiculous. Crap drivers, and stupid outdated laws. I am Canadian, born and raised for decades and lived in 4 provinces and 1 territory. Now I live in Germany, and 230 kph is commonplace. We do it everyday and there is no fuss or worry. And the tax payers do NOT have to pay for helicopters to monitor things!
