    Great video. Thanks. Torque is 15 - 20 ft/lb if anyone's looking.

    This video gave me the knowledge and confidence to replace this at home. Thank you!
    Three things I will add:
    1) I used a cotter pin puller to free the plug lock.
    2) I put some dielectric grease on the plug and exterior of the plug in case I ever have to take it apart.
    3) the sensor is a tapered thread, so it should NOT be bottomed out if you aren’t measuring torque.
    4) be prepared to go 1/2 or 1/4 turn extra to present the tab lock in an accessible location.
    5) my sensor was 19 mm, and I used a GearWrench instead of a socket.

    Great video! My Dodge RAM Promaster won't start. When I try to start the engine, I get the "coolant temp high" message. To reset the system, I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes, but that didn't help. Now, I'm ordering this part and hoping it resolves the issue. If it doesn't, I'll have to tow the van to the dealership. Fingers crossed!

    On my Dodge Grand Caravan, the coolant temp sensor clip is facing the passenger side, making it near impossible to get the clip undone.

    Shouldn't you have disconnected the negative terminal before removing the sensor?

    Does this video work for a dodge nitro 2011 with a 4.0 engine? I really can’t find a video of anyone changing it, need to confirm if it’s the same location as this one.

    Why did you change this my friend did it throw any code? What are the symptoms?

    • @williamd.blainemn3685
      @williamd.blainemn3685 4 месяца назад

      It will turn the check engine light on and throw a “low coolant temp” code.
      If you’re squeaky frugal, you may be able to polish the factory sensor with sandpaper and re-install.
