Thank you for watching! You can see the video about spray painting Diana's vanity here: ruclips.net/video/6iY5QqpRaZg/видео.html We hope you have a GREAT weekend and that your projects go ultra quickly ;) - Dawn & Tom
I like the progress. Our project definitly take longer 😆🤷♀️ I was wondering if you actually need the door from the kitchen to the back and the sliding door to the back. Do they lead to the same place?
Exciting to see the progress! Good luck, I hope you can finish it up. :) Eta: Nope, ours go slower. And my husband also gets 80%...and never does the last 20%. We once moved out of a townhome thst we had put laminate floors in 2 years prior - but he never got the transitions in. We just put rugs over them thresholds.🤦♀️🤷♀️ I now cap what I let him DIY based on this % completion.
I'm so glad to hear from other comment that I am not the only one that bounces around on getting projects done . Thank you Dawn for the inspiration in all your videos showing g your progress! I feel more motivated and have more productive days (here and there 😜) I did want to ask what the color is on your kitchen island and Diana's blue vanity? I'm sure I've missed it in previous videos but cant seem to find it. Thank you so much for your time AND all the smiles, laughs, and prayers🤗
I love you guys! You’re not fakey. I feel like you’re giving us a glimpse into your real life & what you’re doing together to make it the best it can be.
Dawn, I LOVE the hair color! You guys are doing such a good job in your house. It's amazing how much you get done from one video to the next. Ahhh, to be young and have the energy for such ambitious tasks. I'm 73 and retired and live in a mobile home. I would so love to do something (anything!) a little different just for a change, but unfortunately I don't have the strength, or help, to do it, and there's not enough $$$ in my budget to pay someone to do it. It's home and I'm not complaining. There are people who have so much less, so I am thankful for what I have - and it's easy to keep clean!!
I like the hair color on you it makes you look younger and it makes all your features stand out. I think the house is starting to look great. Great job guys.
We always have so many projects going. It seems like we are in the middle of a project when "boom!" something comes up that needs immediate attention. The room is looking good. Those pictures of you two when young kids are so so cute!
You two are a bright bouncy fun ray of sunshine! Love the things you are doing to your home. I’m the many unfinished projects at one time kind of person but my projects are tiny (real tiny) compared to yours.... however I’m soon to be 83 so I tell myself that’s okay, and it is a gift to still be doing and wanting to be doing projects of any kind❣️ Oh and you’d be pretty no matter the color of your hair but that looks nice, accentuates your eyes.
Love your videos, you two are too cute! The way Tom just looks at you throughout the videos. It’s really nice to see you put your passions forward and share so much love together accomplishing great projects. Thanks!
I think it’s great you guys made a desk area for the kiddos. You all inspired me and I ordered two desk for my middle two boys, my oldest already has one and the little guy can use mine for the time being. I know next school year may look a little different so I’m preparing now. Next on my list is ordering them computers. I’m excited to see it all put together. Both your and my “projects”. Thanks for the great/inspirational videos ✌🏽💕🤗
100% agree with a sprayer for painting cabinets. I did a full kitchen with a brush. With a 6 week old at home. I underestimated how much work it was!! Loving the progress with the reno, Dawn!
Your both adorable Dawn asks “ Maybe this time next week we will be done” and Tom has a blank stare while thinking to himself NO WAY is that happening, how does he break that to Dawn. Honestly I give you both credit, I just hate construction work going on in the house, we had the whole house just painted last year, and that was hard even hard on me, when house in uproar I find it so draining, of course the end results make it all worth it
I do start a project, then get interrupted, stop, start a new project. I've been going through ALL my material and crafts. I've pulled out so many projects that have been set aside to make, but then forgotten. Then I decided I needed to sort all my scraps of material into 10 inch squares or 5 inch squares, fat 8th or fat quarters. This is day 5 of this process. Staying home has been helpful in getting more organized and I have declutter as well. Thank you for motivating me to FINISH things. Your home looks great. My 400 Square foot apartment is crowded, but if I were in a house, it'd be bare. I do like the blue under cabinets.
My husband is with Tom, we start 1 project and never finish the last one. We lived in our 1st home for 25 years and it wasn't finished until we moved into our 2nd home and put the 1st one on the market. LOL. It was so beautiful for the new owners. We literally never had woodwork around the windows in our master bedroom, so I was just creative with the window treatments. Enjoy watching you both as well as your family.
Your cupboards and desk space look really really good against the painted wood. Really nice combination!! It blends in really well with the kitchen. It just fits right in. I appreciate your mentioning that the wood grain shows through the white paint. That seems obvious but I never thought of that. Right now, I am putting my paper memories in binders-too many memories in too many binders 😫!! I was going to finish before starting gardening but tomorrow’s going to be a beautiful day so looks like the binders will be put on hold. Have a lovely weekend, you two!!!! And your kiddos!!!
As far as finishing projects I was determined during this time out to finish my garden. I weeded, soiled, and seeded my flower patch. Super proud of myself! You guys are great!
We are also doing big projects like our kitchen and flooring. And yes we are flipping back and forth. It's mostly cuz we are waiting for paint to dry or parts. Loving to see you progress. It's looking really good!
No...our projects last forever!! You guys are soooo fast!! Waiting on my kitchen remodel to be finished started in 2018...lol! So jealous of your focus!! Bravo!!
You guys brought smiles and laughter to my day! Thanks. I'm a bounce around project person. Sometimes that's effective- sometimes not and you just have to concentrate!
We moved 3 years ago and have been working on projects for 2 of the 3 years. There always seems to be 5 different things going on. This month it is our garage floor , some electrical, and the never ending kitchen Reno, and a leaking water heater/soggy basement because there wasn’t enough happening. It is finally nice here in the Chicago area so we of course had to throw in some landscaping and gardening for good measure. Also, My cabinet doors just arrived today... 2.5 months after I ordered them. Tom and his trees, you and your wall paper, and me and my doors. Don’t worry, it will arrive. ❤️
I absolutely love your light fixtures ! We tend to get 90% of a project done and then take a short sabbatical 😆. We actually just finally painted a bathroom cabinet from redoing our bathroom over a year ago, and I keep looking at the trim pieces thinking, "I really need to get that attached. " That's how things tend to roll around here.
Your dark hair looks beautiful and i love the way you are wearing it too. I have always thought you were lovely but you look especially nice like this.
*As far as the nosy neighbors, I say...’build the wall’✔️ But....love your neighbors as yourself, So...acknowledge their curiosity and invite them over to check out your progress. *we always have 5,000 unfinished projects at once. ✔️ *Dawn’s eye color really pops with the hair color. Not sure about the style. I wonder what it would look like if it wasn’t pulled up in the back?✔️ *thank you for providing a cool ‘normal’ take on minimalism. Your content is so relatable. I appreciate you!✔️
We are the same way with projects - 80% done and then get another one started. It's mainly the little things that need to be completed, but sometimes big projects are just too big for our brains to handle. We come back later and complete and realize how fast and easy it all was, nevermind we couldn't finish because of the wear and tear on our bodies! LOL! Don't try to change it, it's a process that helps get so much more done than you plan! Enjoy this in your hubby - though I hate the 'chaos' that comes with remodeling and building, it is so worth devoting a space of time to get many things done! :)
It's so great to see you both working so well together on projects for your home. My husband sends me away when he does major projects as he says, "so I won't get in his way" but it's because I'm a perfectionist and he's not and he doesn't like to be told when I say he's not doing something the right way. My husband also jumps from Project to project and nothing is ever finished. He laid down tile five years ago and part of it is still not grouted. We still don't have baseboards in some of the rooms. It can be very frustrating but I know it's not the most important thing in life. I love watching your videos. You have inspired me greatly to declutter my home and it feels so much lighter. Thank you, Dawn, for that. And by the way, I do love your hair color also.
First off- LOVE the hair color! (Not saying that it wasn't nice before but the darker makes your eyes pop!) We have at least 5-10 projects going at once. We redid the bathroom the first year after moving into our -"new" 100 yr old home. We've been here over 11 years and still need to install the transition and put up the crown molding. I'm hoping the rain will finally stop so we can get outside and work on remodeling our pop up camper...we got over 1.5" this morning! Your doing a great job! You'll get it done when it gets done. Just don't stop!
My dad started remodeling our house when I was two years old. He finished it when I was 25. I moved out at 22 when he was remodeling the only bathroom which resulted in us all having to take a shower in a stall he built in the garage. It does look beautiful now, but my word it seemed like it would never end!
My son sprayed our kitchen cabinets using that BenMoore Advance paint in Cloud White. Amazing result! They were high end cabinets, but 27 years old and showing their age. More money, time, and effort, but it totally paid off.
No we are bouncers too! Happy to see we are not alone. We are working on improving that. I feel like sometimes it happens because necessary/essential projects or tasks pop up while we are in the middle of the improvement projects and it details is for a bit. For example, we had a horrible storm come thru last night and cleaning up from that takes priority over what we were going to do today.
Projects take a lot of time...between parenting, working, and church stuff. We were in our kids room for 2 months while remodeling our bedroom, and it was maple syrup season during that as well. Now our bedroom is simple and peaceful! Just need a door!!!
We are cutting into our sewer line at the corner of our garden, as yet unplanted, to make a connection for our travel trailer to dump into the sewer. Handy when we return from a trip and when we use it for family staying over. Theywill be able to shower and use the toilet. Your project is looking wonderful. Lots of work.
Your family is so blessed with the gifts, including drive, necessary to work on projects on your own. I’m afraid the ship has sailed for me and that means $$$$ to pay someone else to do it. It’s going to be a challenge getting my condo ready for sale by July 2021. Oh, Dawn, how I wish you were still active in real estate and lived in the great Garden State. May God bless you and yours.
You tried to get Tom to commit but he just smiled ... well, he has a lot on his plate. I love your previous home!!! So darn cute on the outside too! It’s all coming together so hang in there you guys.❤️🇨🇦
I love it! We had our bathroom redone last summer and it is up to us to do all the finishing work ... we haven't touched the bathroom because at the same time we had to deal with a moisture problem in a bedroom and decided we should go ahead and split it into two rooms. That project is also not done, but we are not handy people, my husband works full time even through this pandemic and I am now pregnant with our fourth.
Just painted the kitchen cabinets doors white and they turned out great. My hubby is putting on wainscoting on the back side of the cabinets that faces the dining table. We should have it done this coming week. Kitchen already looks brighter!
Yes!! We have a zillion projects waiting for time and money and the confidence for the finish work, and wouldn't you know, we sprung a leak in the bathroom, back to studs we go!
My hubby used to start projects and just chip away at them on all of his free time basically. But now that he's in his early 50s, I'm not seeing the projects get done quite as fast, which is an adjustment but that's just life! And I'm thankful he still does them! We have three bathrooms in our house and about 2 years ago we had an issue with one so we basically shut down that bathroom then about 8 months ago we had an issue with another bathroom so we shut down that one too. Now he's actually working on both of them at once because the upstairs bathroom leaked into the downstairs bathroom. He's probably only a week or so away from finishing the upstairs bathroom but he changed his focus to cleaning out and organizing our 3 Bay garage / shop during this quarantine time. He's done absolutely amazing work out there. He's gotten rid of so much stuff and organized it beautifully but the poor bathroom still sits there! LOL! It doesn't help that he absolutely hates plumbing and the original owner did some funky things that he's having to correct now. He told me he will probably work on the upstairs bathroom this weekend. Yay! Along with the garage, we've been doing a bunch of organizing in our basement, doing a lot of spring yard work and many other little and not-so-little projects. So we've kept busy! Great video! I always love to see one of your videos pop up! I love to see the Trucks and Tractors videos pop up too! :-) Oh, your hair looks really pretty, Dawn!
We are so close to finishing our bedroom project... We bought flooring 2 years ago and started doing the closet about 1.5 years ago... Yeah projects take forever at our place and I totally do the switch project thing! My goal this summer is to get all the projects done in my house, plus a few new ones, then enjoy it before we sell it/ rent it and move to our other yard!!!
You two are outrageously relatable to my husband and I. We definitely start 5-10 projects and bounce around. It's also funny because all of my husbands passions match Tom (including the lack of interest in sports), but I am the bunker house, introvert who likes people. But I'm also so much like you Dawn; the laid back, positive, driven woman. I love your content, especially the Sunday talks with Diane. Keep it up! 😊😊
I loved Tom's "You'll have to come see it....before I get my military bunker". The way you two go back and forth with each other cracks me up! We are getting rain this weekend....perfect time to switch bedrooms around again for us!
Tom, we definitely work the same way. I work on lots of projects all at the same time. I ultimately get them done and on time if there is a deadline.....just the way I'm wired, so I understand. On to the next shiny object!!!
We’re a 7-projects-at-once household. We have a bathroom, hallway, and lots of smaller projects we’re working on. On top of that, it’s time to plant and open the pool!
MN resident as well. We have been remodeling my dads house on the weekends. It’s been nice having free time to get some things done that have needed it since 1974 lol 😂
No worries Tom, we bounce around on projects....its in our blood. My parents are remodeling their old farmhouse for 23 years....one project leads to another and then a change of plans.....of course in between dairy farm chores and planting/harvest season.....
Love the natural look. Our current products on the go as follows: building our house, a horse shelter/fence, old tractor rebuild, fire wood splitting, garden, and I think that's all right now.
Thank you both for this video. You two have an awesome energy, I really needed that today! I am like Tom, especially because I love to knit and draw. Starting xxxx projects at once, stopping because I am lacking yarn, or paint or glue or whatever. To be honest I hope, that minimalism will help me to stop and say "Not now!", when I haven't finished something yet and am about to start something new.
I too get too many projects going at once and it drives me crazy! 😜🤣🤪 Oh yes, everything is looking good, by the way! Just LOVE watching you two and I LOVE the way y’all make each other laugh 💕
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who has this problem! My husband loves starting new projects getting about 75-80% done and moving on to a new project. Super frustrating, but so glad I’m not alone lol!
I understand Tom's impulse to start a new project when the current one is 80% complete - that's how it works out in my knitting! Dawn, your darker brown hair color is lovely - this is a great chance to keep experimenting. I used to actually dye my hair in colors not found in nature in the 80's until I started going gray at age 35 and that is now (and has been) my hair color for almost 30 years. All phases are fun! I really appreciate that you both continue to show how the work progresses on your house projects, we are embarking on this in our new house and are novices now - hope for more expertise soon and what you share with us really helps!
Thank you for the ceiling paint demonstration and recommendation! We have been needing to paint our ceiling for years after some birthday party decorations were scotch taped to it. 🤦♀️ Your recommendation has helped me become motivated to FINALLY get it done!
We finally got our master bathroom remodel finished which started in December! We had a contractor and that turned into a never ending saga. The laborer was so unreliable. My husband ended up finishing it. The reason we got the contractor in the first place is because we are getting too old for major projects. My sweetheart is not nearly as nice as Tom is about home projects. 😂 I also sincerely do worry about his back as he has had two surgeries on it. But my bathroom looks like a spa! It is incredible. Of course that led to new windows in the whole house, and now we are about to replace the decking and railings on our front and back porches. I don’t even dare mention to my hubby any other project ideas swirling in my head. When you live somewhere over 30 years plus then you either have to remodel or move! But every time he hears me listening to your videos he says, “Stop! No new projects!” 😂😂😂 I love y’all. ❤️
You two are so much fun to watch! I love how Tom wouldn't commit to getting it finished by next week! It's looking great! I wish I could convince my husband to painting our kitchen cabinets. They are oak and he loves them - me not so much anymore - I did when we moved in almost 30 years ago. Maybe one day....
It all looks so nice. Great job. we have new neighbors and they tore out all the bushes that gave us more privacy. At first it bothered me but have learned its okay plus they are nice people and they do watch out for neighbors. They are the Eagle eyes and do it in a caring ways. Your hair looks nice. Yes it is interesting here in Minnesota but I have learned to flow with it. Actually we are having fun, we do canning our own food and meals and prepare for busy days. Also many items make great gifts. Bless you all
Yes! Nosy neighbors can be a blessing! I try (really hard...lol) to appreciate mine. 24/7 watch dogs. Your home is looking good. My man is the same. Ten projects at at time. Finishing first the ones HE enjoys most.
I totally end up with multiple projects on the go. Your house reno is looking great. Thanks for the paint tips. Love your new look!! You're looking fabulous.
Thank you for watching! You can see the video about spray painting Diana's vanity here: ruclips.net/video/6iY5QqpRaZg/видео.html We hope you have a GREAT weekend and that your projects go ultra quickly ;) - Dawn & Tom
Hair looks awesome!
I totally bounce around with projects, I currently have like 5 going!

I love how your eyes stand out with the darker hair!
I thought the same exact thing!!
Absolutely stunning! Movie star look ;)
Yes, I was thinking that too!! It's really striking.
I love you guys! You’re not fakey. I feel like you’re giving us a glimpse into your real life & what you’re doing together to make it the best it can be.

The blue cabinets make your eye color really pop. Both are beautiful!
I get soooo excited when you release new videos. I love you guys and your family. Thanks for the update 🥰
Thank you so much!!! :)
The darker hair color really makes your eye color POP!! All the long hard work on your house will be sooooo worth it.
I like the hair color on you it makes you look younger and it makes all your features stand out. I think the house is starting to look great. Great job guys.

You two are my happy place. Thanks for posting regularly. You are definitely an inspiration. Thank you.

Love the dark hair and the white panel wood walls! Looking amazing! 😍😍
I love you 2! We are not project people at all neither of us has enough patience. It’s so good that you are able to do so much yourselves.
100% agree with a sprayer for painting cabinets. I did a full kitchen with a brush. With a 6 week old at home. I underestimated how much work it was!!
Loving the progress with the reno, Dawn!
Married to a carpenter...I've been waiting 24 years for some projects. So I watch yours instead! :) This was super funny! Thanks for the smiles!
I LOVE your hair color. It is so flattering. I think you can more easily see how pretty your features are. Lovely.
Your both adorable
Dawn asks “ Maybe this time next week we will be done” and Tom has a blank stare while thinking to himself NO WAY is that happening, how does he break that to Dawn.

I love your hair darker. It looks so good & suits your skin tone & brings out your eyes. The direction you are parting your hair looks great, too.

there is a clear sealer that you apply before painting raw wood. Using it prevents the grain from coming though.
I love the dark hair, it makes your eyes pop! I also love the blue cabinets!
You look great, Dawn! Your eyes and smile really stand out...so pretty!
Oh my! I love the "maybe landmines"...

Dawn that hair color brings out your eyes better than the blond! Love it!
love the pink/white paint; i used it once myself and really liked it.
I love the blue cabinets and your hair color, it really makes your eyes pop!
My dad started remodeling our house when I was two years old. He finished it when I was 25. I moved out at 22 when he was remodeling the only bathroom which resulted in us all having to take a shower in a stall he built in the garage. It does look beautiful now, but my word it seemed like it would never end!
Sounds about like my timeframe.
Our projects take forever to finish seems like. So I’m impressed with how much y’all have accomplished!
It looks great! My favorite 4 letter word is DONE, so...yes I finish projects.
You 2 are so cute too.
I just painted my ceilings a couple months ago. Man that pink paint would have been so much easier! The rooms are coming together beautifully
My husband and I have been working on finishing an outdoor table. We have been working on it for a year. It is just now getting finished!
It looks so lovely! I love your little home.❤
It's all coming together! Have a wonderful weekend!😊💗
You tried to get Tom to commit but he just smiled ... well, he has a lot on his plate. I love your previous home!!! So darn cute on the outside too! It’s all coming together so hang in there you guys.❤️🇨🇦
Love love love the darker hair!!
I love your darker hair color! If really makes your blue eyes pop. Great tips on painting too. Thanks!
It is coming together amazing!!!
So happy to see you used BM advance, the best. Looks good!
Love the ceiling fixture and your hair!
You hair looks good Dawn. Very exciting guys, looking awesome 😎
It’s so satisfying watching everything come together!
We are getting ready to paint our kitchen cabinets, so thank you for the tips. Your place is looking good
It took me 5 months to paint all of my kitchen cabinets. Love your hair!!
My favorite ceiling paint!
The wall and desk area is exactly what I was hoping for! Looks soooo good! And again your hair looks great! -Lindsay
I too get too many projects going at once and it drives me crazy! 😜🤣🤪 Oh yes, everything is looking good, by the way! Just LOVE watching you two and I LOVE the way y’all make each other laugh 💕
Yes, we also bounce around. But guys, you're doing great! It's improving every video! Thanks for sharing!
It is that “Do it” nature. We have multiple and none completely done even years and years later. You guys are inspiring! Thanks for sharing with us.
Love watching the progress each Friday. You are inspiring!
I’m so glad you settled on the end board. Looks so good x
We always have a lot of projects going on at the same time, and they don’t get finished very fast. But that way we always have something to do!
Love the new hair colour Dawn, it really suits you 💕
It all looks so nice. Great job. we have new neighbors and they tore out all the bushes that gave us more privacy.
We buy the parts and walk around the mess for a year or more! I’m so impressed with everything you get done!
I totally end up with multiple projects on the go.
Your house reno is looking great. Thanks for the paint tips.
Love your new look!! You're looking fabulous.
