Same. Big fan of the visual aspect of the lesson. Theoryhammer is great but, actually seeing the interactions really help you visualize the entire process. Great content as always. 👍
Don't forget to save a Command Point for the In Midnight Clad stratagem to further protect your terminators from shooting attacks, just in case. Also been recently working on a Night Lords army, your videos have been extremely helpful!
Great video! Really nice terain and models! I expected lose this trick "resurection" feature in new FAQ. But even with 9" charge it's very cool idea! Good Tau player probably screen out with Kroots(7" pregame move) and just be outside of 17" of staing in combat terminators. With advance 18" + 6" FADE after shooting, Crisis suits could just focus on killing rest of the army.
@@BlogForTheBloodGod I regularly play a Tyranid player who uses a bomb of 6 Zoanthropes that wreak merry havoc against NL.... we'll see if he's so clever next time 🤣
I miss my jumppack lord so so much! I know it's off topic but I'm still salty! I bought 3 of the Night Lords praetor with jumppack models and kitbashed them each to have a power sword and plas pistol, one I even got blue table miniatures to do a pro paint job for me which they made a video on.
You could do pretty much the same combo with Black Legion. Command phase: you buff full reroll your terminators with Abaddon. Mouv phase: warp strike terminators with the relic. Then do your trick with MoP. You can't lock the ennemy as with the Night Lords but you hit harder
Great job, models on the table demonstrations are very helpful. The trick with the sacrificial dagger seems like a potential problem though, as you are unlikely to kill a terminator doing it. Unless i'm missing something.
You first cast mutated invigoration to buff them Then pact of flesh This way you're able to sacrifice twice meaning 2xd3 mortals so an average roll of 4
Sorry to be a bit of a prick, but are we sure the From the Night strat works like that? Technically, the Terminators are neither in Strategic Reserve (the outflanking for CP type of reserves) nore are they Reinforcements (invoked Daemons that take no slots in detachments). If this still works, it's a great tool against most screens, so you gotta love it! A bit situational of course (gets canceled out by Scouts, or combat-centric armies), but overall this would shore up a big weakness of traditionnal deep strike. Great stuff!
The Terminators are not Daemons. They're not summoned in via Daemonic Ritual (that's a Chaos Daemons thing, not Chaos Space Marines). They're deepstriking via Warp Strike, which is a Reinforcement ability (the same kind of deepstrike as Crisis Suit's Manta Strike and Space Marine Terminator's Teleport Strike). tl;dr - yes, he's using From the Night correctly.
Ffff this video invalids my "very powerful" drinking game. This is Insanely Powerful! :)) Btw impressive how carefully played unit can alone change the whole game. Wouldn't work Vs teleporting shenanigans but still it's something to consider. Very nice visual explanation, man!
Question.. is using the possession spell good for sniping characters with lower Wounds? I cannot find anything stating you can't.. so more or less every eldar hq of lower W is going to die on 3+ if you roll 10 or higher?
@@BlogForTheBloodGod but with a sacrifice and venomcrawler around getting the 10+ is quite doable. So oneshotting a phoenix lord or Eldrad on a 4+ isn’t too shabby. Well. I’ll try it out and see if I have any friends left lol
For the turn 1 DS strat, the tau have a similar one that was FAQ saying can't happen turn 1, most tournies I've played that ruled the NL one that way as well. Also for dagger you need to roll a 5+ to kill a termie.
Seems to me like the explicit intent of the strategem is to allow T1 deep strikes and given GW have not covered it in their FAQ I think we are fine. As for the dagger, you can use it twice which ends up at an almost 90% chance of successfully killing a Terminator
@@BlogForTheBloodGod You can only use the dagger once for this tactic, though. The Sacrificial Dagger ability is activated when you "attempts to manifest a psychic power". This means you have selected a power to be used. If you pick Pact of Flesh and fail, you cannot pick this power again for your second attempt in the same phase. You can use the dagger again, of course, but you won't get to cast Pact of Flesh to get closer to the enemy. Otherwise, a good video. It is quite a risky play, relying completely on a 5+ on that dagger damage, but fun nonetheless.
I have been trying to build myself a night lords list and this has helped heaps! 1 question though, how do you disembark 9" out of the rhino? I thought disembarking rules were 3"?
One of the biggest challenges with the Terminators is how expensive they are and how big of investment they are. I think adding a land raiders just makes that worse
Idk if I am falling into the trap of the LR profile but everyone is telling me that they are pointless. But they have Toughness 9(which very few things will wound them on a 3+, however most things will wound them on 5+) they have Armour of Contempt with a base 2+ save. In a Black Legion Army if I target the right things it is going to be shooting its D6+2 Lascannons hitting on a 2+. Am also thinking about having 1 Terminator Unit/Possessed riding it.
@@danielpaoli1093 yer i think the landraider has a place, on paper it looks great, i think its issue is its harder to buff as its not core, meaning they arent super reliable, it degrades, making those very expensive lascannons worse throughout the course of the game, +1 to hit the closest enemy unit via the black legion trait is good but how often are your prime lascannon targets the closest models? I wouldnt advise putting anything expensive in the landraider as its like all your eggs in one basket, plus if it blows, and it shall, loosing 30/ 40 pnt models to rolling ones when she blows feels really, really bad! Id probably put a unit of cc legionaires or hell maybe even cultists....or maybe a couple of units of havocs as if you roll any ones on them you can pull the units champions and not effect their ranged output.
You become my fav instructor in no time, really helpful vids.. Due to low iq I only have one question.. Warp strike 9" Away, then respawning that one termi in unit coherency means 9-2=7 inches.. How comes the 5" charge you mentioned? I missed something Im sure
Another great video! I feel like the sac dagger strat is a given now to get those charges off for CSM and really tie up the opponent. I would like to see a Army list built around the Let the Galaxy Burn Ability, in particular building around Flamer weapons. Can it be done?
Why would you assume a correction is needed? This has been in the game since 8th. Example: I deepstrike anything SpaceMarine and my opponent uses an auspex style strat to shoot me. I get 2 models killed. My Apo at the end of ghe movement phase brings one back closer. Same for cult of time Thousand Sons. The only difference is that CSM can nearly garantee killed models to have something to bring back, but being able to bring back something closer than 9" could be done since forever
God damnit... I just liked the video... and it went from 169 likes to 170.... why does this keep happening to me. Oh, also... awesome video. Also Fck Frontline Gayming
Hi man its again me. Some words about this Strategy .I think the chance of success of such a strategy is very small. First you must roll a 5 or 6 to kill the terminator. After that, you must fulfill the Pact of Flesh without fail. And guaranteed to roll 7 on the charge. It's too unlikely and too difficult for a serious game.
Few corrections. You can use his Ritual dagger twice, so the probability of you failing to kill a Terminator is only 11% With the dagger used, Pact of Flesh goes of on a 5+ with Cp reroll available which is like which means less than 3% chance it fails I'd successful you need to roll a 5+ to charge, also with a potential CP reroll which again is like a 3% fail probability. So it is very very reliable. Even so, something does not have to be 100% for it to be a viable strategy, worst case scenario you still have 10 Terminators in their face Turn one
