I actually changed from pre-med to engineering because I decided medschool isn't for me, but I still watch your videos because your work ethic is really inspiring!
you seem so on top of everything. I'm in med school also in the UK and although I've been passing exams, my organisational skills leave much to be desired. been praying about it and you set a good example for other budding medics. God bless and protect you
+TheStriveToFit This is my life. I agree. hahaha A consultant was drilling me about murmurs and their grading criteria I was like i'm sorrryyy i'll study harder haha. All the best!
thanks a lot JAMIE. love your videos a lot. I am a medical student from INDIA and I always watch your videos at least once in a day. I really get a lot of inspiration from you. Thanks again & ALL THE BEST for step-I
I just found your channel and immediately subscribed. Your work ethic is amazing. I've thought about trying to apply for Medical school in the past, but was never 100% sure about it. I'm thinking about attending a post-bac program first before deciding if I can handle medical school. Thank you for sharing your experience!
This is helpful! All these things that you are covering about everyday life gives me inspiration to rethink about taking MCAT's.. I really thought med school meant end of life (hanging out, eating out, gym, outdoor activities) as I came to know it.. THANK YOU!! I truly appreciate it.. Looking forward to your next adventure..
i subscribed to ur channels for videos like this, and even if u gonna be busy the couple of weeks u can post videos telling us about your week and which cool stuff u learned for the week ... it motivates u.. really cool channel
Hi! Thank you so much for making these videos. I'm in the same boat you are (second year medical school student) and I will be taking my boards in June. Your videos always bring me a sense of calm and help to motivate me for another day of tackling practice questions and review. Good luck on the USMLE!!
What personality says about your medical career, specialty suggestions? Expectations vs reality All about premed classes How did you choose where you wanted to work/ go to school Just some video suggestions that I would find interesting. :)
Hi! I'm not sure if you check on the comments on your old videos, but I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos during med school and residency. They are really inspiring. I'm currently a med student in Korea thinking of taking the usmle and your youtube/blog has been very helpful in getting familiar with the study materials. + I was suprised to see the KMLE books in this video haha. Hope I can leave another comment after I passed step 1! :D
i am a 2nd year student in faculty of veterinary medicine and now i feel a little dispirited but watching your video give me motivations!! idk why hahaha. love yaaa
Hey Jamie! I just found your channel and watched most of your videos. I really appreciate the friendly and easygoing approach you have to your routine and perspective as a med student! I'd love to hear more about your reasons for entering med school and if you are considering integrating your fitness/wellness background into your medical practice.
+Brianna Egan Hi Brianna, these are great questions and I think they would be best answered in a video! I will add it to the list of videos to work on. Thank you for your support!
+TheStriveToFit Awesome!! Thank you for the time you put into making these! Also it'd be lovely to maybe meet a few of your peers and hear about their experiences in future videos.
Just found this channel yesterday, and am hooked - pretty sure I've watched most of your videos in 2 days! Haha I'm a 1st year medical student and seriously lacking motivation at the minute - exams are so close and I am so underprepared but your channel is definitely inspiring me to work a little harder :)
I am a high school student thinking about medical school. I know that I want to become a doctor. Could you explain the steps to becoming a doctor and tips and tricks you have learned such as applying and picking a college and major and then classes to take and then applying to med schools and picking one and what the step process you keep talking about it? Thanks I'm loving these videos!
+Megan Breen Hi Megan, you might find my "high school to med school" video (here: ruclips.net/video/-3RJs7aSSOQ/видео.html). I'm working on another video explaining what I did during college (major, extracurriculars, etc) so that will be up in the future! STEP I that I'm studying for now is part of the USMLE (US medical licensing exam). There are 3 "Steps" and the first one is taken after the second year of medical school.
Thanks for showing the inside of the KMLE book! I'm studying in South Africa but I'm really considering doing the KMLE to be a doctor in the army. Do you know anyone who studied outside of Korea and did the KMLE?
I need an advice, I speak spanish but also english but it is not my first language and I live in Latin America, I want to study Med in the USA but im scare that i wont make it because english is not my first language.
You can definitely study Medicine in the U.S. if your first language is English :). I would just recommend that you study English a bit more so that you can ace complex vocabulary words and terms that professors in the college level might use :]. You speak (type , lolz ) English extremely well!!!! Keep it up! If you don't mind me asking, what part of Latin America are you from? I'm half-Dominican and half-Nicaraguan :D
nice to see KMLE book in your video. haha you will find some useful tips(or jokes) how to memorize some stuff in there. :) good luck on USMLE step 1! :D
Hey Jamie! Love your videos! Quick question, do you recommend any other flashcards for Step 1 prep? Pharm or pathology maybe? I use sketchy but I like the idea of having on-the-go flashcards too. Thanks & keep up the awesome videos!!
I was going to med school but my high school results were not that good, so I was able to enter psychology instead, which I enjoy pretty much. But know watching your videos make me regret entering psychology :( I wanted med. so bad :( I love how organize you are, I wish you all the best
When I was in high school I wanted to go to medical school but I didn't get in so I did psychology instead. Even though I really liked psychology I still really wanted to study medicine so I applied again and got in! I have now almost completed my first year of med school and I'm so happy I chose to apply again (I almost didn't because I thought that because they turned me down the first time they would do so again). It sounds like you are in kind of the same situation I was in so I would like to advise you not to give up on your dream, if I can do it so can you!
What are the flash cards your using in this video? They look great! Is it something your school supplies you, or can they be purchased somewhere? Goodluck with studies!
I really liked your Chanel you do the best med school vlogs in RUclips .. But I have a note 1- ( the music in the videos are so loud comparing to your voice tone, it would be better if you lower it ) .. 2- And those micro cards are so good where did you get them from ? How can I find the same?
I wish I could be more motivated to study that much! I'm in undergrad right now studying for my BS in Kinesiology and am really struggling with finding the motivation to study. Sticking to a strict study schedule is really hard! Any tips?
+Heather P for me, it helped to set some concrete goals (getting specific grade in a test/course, getting into medical school, etc). I didn't have a strict study schedule in undergrad but I focused more on achieving smaller goals by whatever means necessary. I definitely enjoy a more regular study schedule now but I think it's best to do what works for you!
Great video! I was wondering if you do your editing on your macbook air? Also if you wouldn't mind sharing what kind of camera you use and your video editing software? I just got into medical school and found this channel looking for study tips. Thanks for the high quality content!
Your video is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 it is organized and keeps me motivated 😍 I somehow found out that you went to America when you are in grade 7 and before that I thought that you were born in states cuz you speak English perfect! As a student who is studying abroad, could you share your tips/know-hows how to speak English fluently like you? 😭❤️ you are my goalssss😍😍 thanks! Good luck with studying 😘
+Madtallcho 95 My parents made sure there were no Korean-speaking Koreans in my middle school and high school lol I think that helped a lot. I also watched a lot of tv (in English) and all my friends were/are english-speaking. I think when it comes to learning a language, complete immersion is the best way to go. Hope this helps! Are you studying abroad in US or somewhere else?
+TheStriveToFit Thanks for the reply! You are right! I have a friend who went to America when she was in grade 7 and she seems that she still struggles with English a lot.. Lol Well she has lived in Korean town so that kinda makes sense to me :) And I used to study in States and now I am in Canada 😁 Complete immersion... Alright! It's not like omg my English is horrible something like that but still sometimes I feel like I am still not good enough :d you knoow
hey, i love your videos! I'm a student at Brown and the PLME. I'm planning on making videos to help high schoolers understand more about college life and the entire college application process - check out my channel if you have the chance! :)
